he is probably one of the smartest and most down to earth of all the V8 supercars drivers. he knows his limits but isnt afraid to push them and admit to it, should be a thrill in the cup series
He is an honest and shy guy who means what he says about not wanting to ruin anyone's chances this year at a championship, that's why we love him. But watch out for the assassin smile and hard edge when he comes full time, the man is a competitive animal.
It does my heart good to see Dale and Mike interview drivers. So much enthusiasm and positivity. I remember pulling for Marcus back in the day he always got out of the car smiling and positive.I had my doubts at first about SVG but after this interview you can see the fire in his eyes.
SVG is a guy with a head on his shoulders. He admits that jumping right in to the Cup series is not a smart business plan. He realizes that adapting to the sport is the way to go. I'm becoming more and more of a fan after every one of his interviews.
His final comments about not wanting to wreck anyones championship is very revealing about SVG's attitude. And it was pretty clear in both races this weekend, that he was showing a lot of respect to the other drivers. It's obvious he is very happy to have this opportunity, and is doing everything he can to learn and soak it all up. Really loving the way he's handling the media and interviews too. The biggest surprise of this whole thing is how supportive his current team is being willing to let him leave his contract or even encouraging him to do so to come race in the states. Super cool guy, I would love him to continue to find success no matter what series he is competing in. I was especially happy to hear that he had spoken with Marcus Ambrose (who is still on my list of favorite NASCAR drivers), and that SVG was willing to listen and take in guidance. Someone with mad talent, a willingness to listen to various people’s guidance, and humbleness throughout the learning process of each race vehicle, will go far. Reminds me of Scott Dixon in Indycar, SVG is welcome to bring his own personality and add something new to North American racing. This is coming from a NASCAR fan who has been watching NASCAR every weekend for more nearly 25 years.
The end of this video says everything about Shane. He wants to learn, he wants to race, he will race in the trucks to develop as it looks amazing and fun but more than anything, it is playoff time of year and that is at the forefront of his mind. He will be such an asset to Nascar when he finally arrives.

Crazy to see SVG sit down across from JR and talk on such an intelligent level. SVG has really put a lot of thought into where supercars is going and where he wants to go. He knows Nascar is going to be tough. One good race means nothing and SVG wants to win. So its cool seeing him sort of be humble and know what it takes, he respects JR a lot and knows he had to be prepared from these conversations. The mind races at the potential of SVG when you hear the grounded mentality he has for the sport. He understands he has no experience on ovals, and really makes it sound like he is more interested in the joy of racing over the accolades or money. That part where he sounds open to trucks/xfinity races to get experience totally makes sense (he would be perfect for the Kaulig 10 in my mind, with AJ also providing experience in a similar trek), except that when you are a race winner at cup, the idea of spending even 1 year at a lower division, nevertheless the 2-3 years he probably needs, would make that time a hard sell. Hopefully he is able to maximize the opportunity.

Every summer American racers come to NZ (kiwi land) race Speedway in your off season, they have always been so FAST so ovals will be more of a challenge, but as a kid he was crazy fast on a quad so this is going to be so exciting for NASCAR
So how about some type of partnership between JRM and Trackhouse in the Xfinity #8 car? Both Team Chevy, it kinda makes sense? he runs a full schedule in the #8 and maybe 6-8 races in Cup? and then goes full-time in another year? I feel like Justin Marks still wants to keep the "Project 91" as-is so it could be a potential international showcase for other big names vs giving it full-time to SVG right away - although the willingness of teams like RCR and 23X11 adding a third seat for guys like Kamui and Brodie means everyone see's Project 91's success and wants to copy it. Rumor has it Nissan made Red Bull leave NASCAR since they weren’t cool with them running Toyota’s here while also sponsoring them in F1. Doubt they’d come back.
@@appleinflNissan has and has never had any pull over Red Bull's marketing department. Red Bull didn't see much return on investment with their involvement in the NASCAR Cup Series and pulled out. Nissan has about as much interest in NASCAR as a fish has in getting barbecued.
@@ChrisBl33p it's never been confirmed afaik so the truth probably lies in the middle ground. I've heard an alternate version where Nissan threatened to pull F1 sponsorship because of Red Bull running Toyotas. It was probably the lack of return on investment and maybe some unhappiness from Nissan but I doubt it was overwhelmingly one or the other. Great interview as always! I wonder if red bull would support his Nascar efforts! I hope so! I hope it works out great for him! Seems like a nice down to earth guy!
I don’t know if they can with monster as the series sponsor but maybe they could idk
Especially because they shut down right as the team was starting to see an uptick in performance
@@dylantaylor7071Monster no longer sponsor the series (and Nascar Cup Series name comes clean). That's why some brands like Kyle Busch's Rowdy Energy or Celcius entered the market, also Ashoc in the past
I think Ambrose's only regret is turning the engine off going uphill 😂
It won't take him that long to learn the ovals. This guy is next level, Nascar here we go!
Gisbergen has talent/ love for the sport and its fans, and respect for the other drivers
Such a cool dude.. He's got a fan here. 🤙🏁
As a Nascar fan I want the best drivers from all over the world competing. SVG is a world class talent and I like him. Come on Red Bull! Write the check and come back to Nascar. Kudos to Justin Marks for making the sport I love better.
Love watching these videos. Been watching your channel for awhile and was super excited to hear you were gonna drive for JRM! Been a Jr fan from his Busch/Xfinity days. Hopefully you get a chance to talk to him more in the future ❤
Best of luck to Shane and Jess.
For the people who have not seen many of his races check out the Bathurst 12 hour GT3 race with Shane in a Mc Laren and his team mates
From 888 in a Ferrari.
2024 rookie class is coming together nicely
- Josh Berry (if he’s still eligible lol)
- SVG
- With Zane Smith, Hocevar, or Hill possibly in the mix
Not sure SVG will be running the entire season in 2024. May run the Xfinity series first.
It might as well be your year.
I believe he is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs following his win.
He might as well get a few more wins and come back with the championship. Let's go!!!!!
Svg for life
Sounds like a class act. Just him being aware that these guys are running for a championship and not getting in the way shows how much class he has. Good luck! I hope he does ok. And does he bring Red Bull with him? Hmmm?
dude, a Red Bull NASCAR team would be like injecting steroids into the Cup series. that would 100% signify that NASCAR has gone international. i wonder if there's plans for that... 🤔
👍👏🇳🇿🤘 SVG is awesome.. so glad he's looking to jump into NASCAR
It seems like Shane really respects Dale and is a little in awe of him. (I know the feeling) He's like, "That's the man right there".
Can't help but wonder if JR Motorsports might have some Xfinity races for SVG next year, part-time...
He needs to run the ARCA Talladega race
Something no one has commented on is if he had time, he could do the American rally car scene as well, I would put him in the top 5 easy.
Awesome guy. He has a fan right here.
Dale Junior is so down to earth
Go straight to cup! Those cars are what he's used to......trucks will teach him bad habits! Xfinity will as well
The audio on this is really banged up. Ever since Jason left, the production details have gone down, and mic audio is basic lol
Glad it's not just me. Ask jr and all the videos posted this week have had terrible audio
