Agree, Boba should soooo contact David Freiburger and get a wildcard for Dragweek in 2014! Just to show off the car as an alternative to the constant flow of US tuner cars there. And with 8.65 on a EU prepared strip, then 8.50 on a US strip should be possible to raise some eyebrows and get alot of state-side attention. Could be gold for Boba's business, who knows :) Btw, is the VR6 chassis stiffer/better than the regular Golf chassis?...Or did you just mean you were happy with him using the non-VR6 base engine? I ask cause I was looking at a fine condition $3500 VR6 with a shot engine(I wanted the rest of the car though) so was wondering if that was a good/bad idea then. I have no real knowledge of Golf chassis's thought they were sort of the same for each generation so curious. (It's for an eventual copy of this car, some years in the future, though weaker in power, with the same engine config (isch) as seen here)
To driver/builder/tuner all in one, this is the sexiest thing i have ever seen.. only in my MOST wildest dreams will i ever even imagine driving an mk2 like this.. props

The most powerful stock edition was the Mk2 limited (blue grill instead of red GTI, pretty rare, only 71 ever built) that had a g60 supercharged engine making 210 hp (have in mind that's the early 90s, that was a lot for a light car, and it was the most powerful golf until mk4 r32)
Well, with more horsepower than its weight I imagine it surpasses the magical 1kilo per horsepower power to weight ratio, or the more easily measurable 1000hp/ton ratio. Considering the original Bugatti Veyron has 1001hp but has to pull 1920kg the power to weight ratio for that one is 521hp/ton. The Koenigsegg Agera R has 1140hp but also weighs 1435kg, which equals 794hp/ton. A BMW S1000RR superbike has close to 1000hp/ton with its 193hp and 204kg weight, and that one has some sick acceleration from 100km/h to 200km/h. This Mk2 Golf is the ultimate sleeper. I mean even the seats appear like they are original. What I would give to see the faces of some supercar owners as they are being left behind in the distance. Hehe. What a party car. For scaring passengers with. :)

Da,.. what just happened?!?! That car is an absurdly brilliant engineering triumph - over 500bhp per litre, over 1000bhp/tonne, and a speedo that is ridiculously under-sized for the speeds this thing can do! Well done chaps!
The sheer turbo lag on that monster of a turbo must be horrible. It has a 1 mile drag time of 1 hour.....55 minutes to spool the turbo, then 5 minutes of the most brutal torque steer imaginable. 240 kph to mph means that thing cooks up to 150, but there probably isn't a whole of gear left to work with is there?
Geeze, you'd think 58psi would blow a motor up... learn something new every day! This car's insane. Even with lower boost and reg fuel this car must be a monster.

Das nächste mal ggf das Triebwerk auf einer Rennbahn testen, selbst Sonntag morgen um 5 Uhr ist das nicht ohne, keiner rechnet damit, das der Golf von der Auffahrt, 3 Sekunden später 300 km/h auf der Nadel hat ;) Wenn da einer aussschert, rauchst Du ihn immer noch mit 200km/h auf. Mehr als einen fetten Artikel in der Bild gibt das dann nicht mehr.
Simples. More air you put through an engine, the more fuel you can add = more power. A turbo that size at 50psi is shoving a HUGE amount of air, all you need to do is add enough fuel and you have a boat load of power in a golf.
Charge Density. The pressure(boost, PSI, whatever) created buy the turbo supercharger, is squeezing the oxygen molecules together making it, the air charge, oxygen dense. Providing the cylinders with oxygen dense air (remember air is 21% oxygen mostly nitrogen), to burn the fuel. The colder the air charge the better. That gives you the ability to put more fuel through the engine, because of the abundance of oxygen, creating more heat and heat is power. Building an engine/drive-train that can hold together at this level is the art form.

Check out the RX-7 someone modified for drag which is 1.6 liter and gets over 1000HP. The turbo on it is larger than the engine. It's sometimes suprising how much an engine can take if you upgrade the right components for better durability. And basically any video you see in the UK or Germany will always be manual trans.

You should do your testing on a closed circuit, not on a public road, at night and in rain.

I love everything about this car it is so amazing they way you built it,the sound of it.....it is so SOUNDGASM! I even downloaded this video in my phone and showed it to my friends.. but you know that IF you crash at these speed you got no chance of surviving...all I see is the stock cabin no roll cage bars or something...I might be mistaken cause this vid is 2 years ago but im just sayin....safety first guys!
