    *After years of hauling around a large,💫 **allabout.wiki/PORTER** heavy, loud dewalt air compressor (that ironically was advertised as quiet, supposedly 78dB), I bought this. Facepalm. While it is not ‘silent’, I find myself chuckling every time I use it, sparing all my neighbors the terror of my former compressor. I use for inflating tires, impact wrench, finish nailers. Absolutely love it. And I store it under the garage sink in a 24” cabinet. I paired with a coil 1/2”, instead of a my former 50’ 5/8” hose that I had to lug across the yard from the shed, unpleasantly uncoil.... this little guy is light and portable; just a joy. Impact wrench is still capable of easing lug bolts, flywheel bolts, crank pulleys... just allow for a tiny bit of recovery now and then.*

    You can get it to kick on without letting any air out by turning the power on and off twice.
    I installed an automatic drain valve underneath
    SPEEDAIRE MODEL #6Z948A AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC DRAIN VALVE
    I then ran the valve to a timer
    Chicago Electric - Item#95205 harbor freight
    I put a breaker bus box between the compressor and the breaker box.
    Love the compressor

    I was thinking of getting this same compressor but ppl say it uses more amps then noted and had problems with it?

    I commented on your other video. How did you adjust the air pressure stored? There is a screw under the switch cover? Mine fills to 165 and stops.

    would you care to see how long it takes to go from zero to max preassure and then from cut on preassure back to kick off max preassure...thanks I can't find this info anywhere

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From zero to max it takes 7 mins and 43 secs, from kick back on to max takes 1 min and 17 secs

    Did you have to adjust your pressure switch when you first bought it

    Can anyone tell me what the diameter of the tank is? (Real question, will it go through a 36" door?)

    Hey Sean just bought the same compressor from tractor supply. Should be picking it up this weekend. Does the compressor come with oil for break in? Also can you give more info regarding the air filter setup you bought off eBay? I also read in some reviews that there was some alignment issues with the pulley belt from the factory. Any input on that?

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine did come with a synthetic oil right from Tractor Supply, I've since replaced it with royal purple compressor oil. I got mine brand new, from Tractor Supply not from ebay and have left the air filter stock. I did read other reveiw with the pully issue but I checked mine and its stright, the belt hasn't come off. I did make a follow review video on this might want to check it out, should be on my channel. Hope this helps!! :)

    Do you have any concerns with it mounted on the pallet? Is the pallet pretty solid.
    Thanks

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's best to have it on a rubber mat or bolted to the floor with the rubber mounts. In my case I rent this house and didn't want to bolt it.. So IR states as long as its on the pallet and not just the floor its fine. I also installed the rubber anti vibration pads too.

      @Methodical2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sean Metz Thanks. That's how I have mine installed, too, except I just cut some rubber squares from a busted spared car tire. She doesn't move much when running either. I don't plan to bolt it to the floor though.

    Maybe you can help me I can't find out what going on with my compressor. I have the same one it is brand new haven't used it at all I wired it up but it will not cut off it will go up pass it max psi. I contact them they sent me a new pressure switch and I still have the same results. I notice that only way I can cut it off is at the breaker that the pressure switch off or on isn't work any idea what to look for? Thanks

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      bigkevtang Well maybe, have your tried lowering the pressure adjust scew? It should be in the front of the pressure switch. Maybe its jacked way up

    What did you use and how did you hook up the electrical? I am not sure of wire size and breaker size needed. Thanks for your help...

    • @Methodical2
      @Methodical2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sean Metz Just an FYI. You stated in that video that you used a 10/3 wire, but in fact it's a 10/2 wire (black, white and a ground). A 10/3 would be 4 wires (black, white, red and ground).

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are right idid ill have to fix that...

      Sean Metz Cool.

    • @Methodical2
      @Methodical2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter R, you need to check the motor amp rating, multiply by 1.25 to get the ampicity value, then use the next size up breaker and of course the appropriate wire size. Example: My compressor motor is rated at 22 amps (22x1.25 = 27.5 amps), so I am using a 30 amp breaker. If at any point I have tripping issues, I would step up to 40 amp breaker. You can go higher if you get nuisance breaker trips. Hope this helps.

    How has the compressor working out for you? Do you do any painting with it?

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it has worked out great so far no problems. I do run my HVLP gun off this pretty much any time i paint, i also use it a lot for cut off wheels, impacts, DA's, and my air hammer.. it has more then enough cfm out put for all of them and have used it with cutti g wheels and impacts at same time

    heay man. I bought the same compressor at tractor supply. i love it. do u know how to turn up the psi. mine shuts off right around 160. i need to max it out

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never looked into turning it up, but all the compressors ive owned you pull off the top of the pressure switch and there should be a screw in there to turn it up or down, most time its right in the middle of the switch

    • @Methodical2
      @Methodical2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sean Metz Would upping the pressure do any damage?

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You wouldnt want to go over the 175 it possible over time running more then recommended could blow a rod in the pump and weaken the values.

    • @Methodical2
      @Methodical2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom, why do you need to max out the PSI? Curious.

    Wut size air hose do they recommend for this compressor 1/2" ?

    • @Twisted07
      @Twisted07  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diy type of guy Not sure if there is a recommended, I'd say it would bepend on what your needs are. For myself i run a 3/8 Good Year hose with 3/8 ends not them little baby ones you find at home depot, I find the best place to get them is a local Tractor Supply. If you are running 3/4 to 1in impact for farm equipment then sure it's 1/2 is the way to go. I will say this either way you go dont cheap on a hose for this compressor, 175 psi take them cheap hoses and blows them into pieces after time, my recommendation Good Year hose, they are the bomb!

    • @diytypeofguy6502

      Sean Metz yeah I have a Goodyear 50ft I've had for a while from my old compressor..my air pressure goes down when I use a air tool and have to wait for it to build back up in the lines ..I had a 25ft 3/8 hose on the end of my good year hose ..I took that off but it still goes down ..I think its the 2 filters I have on there right off the compressor. .their rating is lower than the 175 psi she puts out ...I think if I change the bs filters I'll be good hopefully. ...I just found my manual

    jeeezus Christ, that's at least 1200 rpm of pure noise......listen to the way a real air compressor should sound, 650rpm and 16.1 cfm @ 90psi, " theres no replacement for displacement"
