Not exactly. Corbin did say that he auditioned for the role of Ryan because the character was originally African American. Also, director Kenny Ortega admitted to originally envisioning the character as gay. Admitting to intentionally give the character hints and undertones of his sexuality. At the time, being gay was not accepted. So, Disney took out all of the gay nuance of the character. They made the character white due to wanting to use the recognizable actress Ashley Tisdale to play Sharpay and making the character look related to the star. So, they put Corbin on as Chad. Although the character Ryan had some significance in _High School Musical,_ he became sidelined throughout the film series. Whilst chad gained more of a significant role later on. This helped Corbin gain more of a spotlight. Also, with the stigma placed against homosexuality, it would’ve probably stunted Corbin’s career during that time if they gave him the role of Ryan with that aspect to the character. Corbin always gave his appreciation to the series as a jumpstart for his career and is happy where he is. There was a rumor that he wasn’t very much into starting a solo music career. However, he appreciated that aspect of his career and greatly enjoyed his transition to broadway and other opportunities he gained.

This channel is so nostalgic even if it’s not directly about older things…
His not a thug. That’s why his star never rose high black men in the music industry are push to be Hypersexual or Gangster. This why Jason derulo is seen as corny or not cool. I maybe be wrong but that’s all I see when it comes to mainstream music by black male artist/performers.
When i was 12-13 years old i joined the twitter only for celebrities to follow me (lol) and he was the first one... Such a cute, kind hearted guy ♥️
He actually sung one of my favorite songs. It is called joy of the ride
He also made a cameo in the show Dynasty
Other than the obvious reason i still don't get how Corbin didn't achieve the same success as Zac. My boy had the triple threat.
He seems happy and that's all that matters.
I remember Corbin being my first celebrity crush lol I’m happy to see he’s living his best life!
Go watch his new movie “A Christmas Dance Reunion” with Monique Coleman (aka Taylor)!!
Ngl, i had such a huge crush on him
I swear Corbin had to be the start of my love for dudes with curly hair.😍
''PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT'' WAS A BOP AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME DIFFERENT
Even as a kid, i thought Troy/Zac Efron was wildly overhyped. Corbin Bleu was more my speed and i thought he was a better singer/dancer/better looking lol but ofc Disney Channel is going to shove the lesser talented white boy down our throats before anyone else.
Push it to the limit was a BOP!!!
Speaking of that…I wonder what happened to Drew Seeley? I haven’t seen or heard anything from him in a while.
For those who don’t know, he’s the one who sang the songs for Zac’s character in the first HSM in 06
He was the Chris Brown of HSM.
Bro is doing well! 😊 🥂
He was so good in both high school musical and in the third it looks like the sideline him to in the movie I just glad he is doing good in his career cause alot peoples who was on high school didn't do that much after the movie, but he did and kept get in movies and tv show they wasn't big like high school but aleast he a busy
Lmao someone said on Instagram, that he grew up to be a white man looool 🤣. Yeah he's living his life, good for him!
Lmaoo….he lowkey did💀😭
