All Might feels incredibly GUILTY about giving Izuku One For All. Remember: at the beginning of the series, All Might thought All For One was DEAD. All Might had killed him. This was supposed to be OVER. Then he passes the power on to this kid, only for the Demon Lord to return. All Might never meant to pass on THAT burden.
Actually, All Might didnt think All for One was dead. He thought that AFO had been weakened since AFO always finds ways to escape. But he never knew that AFO had been grooming someone to take his place. So instead of one, we are dealing with 2 threats and he feels guilty that izuku is dealing with a bigger burden than just All For One.
Seeing Death Arms throw in the towel is a bummer, considering he was one of the first Pros we met in the series, alongside Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods. Glad to see they're still around, especially Lady. Her development in this show is straight up underrated.
Man, I felt bad for that hero knowing hero society is now reducing with its believing in heroes That like he said one insult or boo or maybe many of those things can overshadow cheers and some heroes can handle that can’t handle all the hate and disappointment knowing that one of them did their best but all that destruction and other deaths of people and heroes can spread fear to the hearts and minds of survivors and viewers
As someone who went through gaslighting and abuse for years I can confirm, when you are being constantly dragged through the mud and told you are useless there is almost no amount of cheers or compliments that will break through the negative. It took YEARS for me to be able to actually take a compliment or feel good when getting one. This is a short term version of that, in my eyes. Trauma is trauma, regardless of duration.
Mt. Lady went from someone who became a hero for fame, in ep.1 to someone who is always risking her life and body taking on threats above her. Her growth was both quite and massive.
besides All for One using All Might's line "it's your turn" to Deku in the abandoned house, it's also a callback to when Deku was first accepted into UA and All Might appeared as a hologram
Ohhhh, I didn't think of that, but yeah. Both came from a hologram and gestured him towards their future, just with VASTLY different tones and intentions.
Deku vs Class 1-A reminds me of that line from Superman. Superman - Do you four wanna hear a joke ? Harley - Sure. Superman - "Four low life criminals vs *Superman*
God I love this arc. It takes one of Deku's defining characteristics - his desire to protect others without any regard for his own wellbeing - and exposes just how dangerous that mindset really is, and how easily it can be used by someone like All For One to his own advantage. Deku has constantly gotten praise for how far he'll go to save someone, his willingness to put himself in grave danger to keep others safe. But here's where it comes full circle: that trait, that aspect of himself that people have called his greatest strength, is also his greatest weakness. Deku, deep down, doesn't care about himself. He doesn't value who he is as an individual anymore. Now he sees himself as... just another vessel for OFA, one that needs to stop AFO no matter what.
Deku's mask was originally based on All Might's smile (before he got the upgrade in S2), and seeing it slowly weather away is heartbreaking. Especially when he leaves All Might, in the manga it looked more like a smile and him just saying "i'm fine" was so sad.

I just love that bakugou is at the front of this escapade. Like he’s the one who Deku sees first. I think that alone is such a comfort cuz bakugo has been the only one who knew the whole time. Bakugo is chasing for the top with him, so for him to fall back on his dream to make sure Deku can get back up again and go towards the top again as Bakugo’s healthy rival. Bakugo calling him “are you able to smile right now” is so big because that was Delu’s whole reason and mantra for saving people. He wanted to save people with a smile and be a reason to make others smile, but the fact he can’t smile and the people he saves fear him even more than praise him is such a destroying image. I love the friend dynamic with bakugo and Deku and this episode really shows that dynamic off and how powerful that bond is between them
I feel bad for Deku, man. After AFO saying he's coming after him, he became hellbent on not letting anyone get close to him. I can't blame him either, we've seen just how far AFO will go to get what he wants. He feels like he's the only one who should carry this burden and because of that he's exhausted himself. And he's still kid too.
Man Deku is up against a villain who’s been around for a very long time trying to catch that power to fulfill his dark dream and he thought about so many ideas and schemes from and those many years So yeah AFO is a very perfect villain mastermind. I hope Deku feels OK.
Mount Lady had the most unspoken character growth. She starts off as a fame chaser, using her figure to get free food, using Mineta as free housecleaning, etc. Then when they rescue Bakugo, she takes her first step, taking a magician to the face while saying, "Prioritize the rescue". And here? Even as veterans like Death Arms gives up, she doubles down, and steps up to be the hero she needs to be. Props to her, and a salute to Mount Lady.
I don't think Deku resents All Might at all. That would require a level of self-concern that I don't think he has. Deku has never once expressed any kind of "Why me" sentiment. He's never bemoaned what he has to do, or what he has to deal with. Only ever if he can actually do what he has to do successfully.
What I find interesting here is that while we’re being shown how the public is turning on the heroes somewhat unfairly, we’re also shown big flaws with how a lot of the heroes do things. Like here, the fact that their plan hinges on a sleep deprived teenager calling the shots. Only one of them was actually trying to make sure that the kid was eating. Sometimes their “logical” way of doing things is incredibly irresponsible. It’s great the class stepped in, since Midoriya definitely would’ve collapsed had he been left with the heroes.
Maybe that sleep deprived kid is the one with the most powerful capability and knows a lot about the villains maybe that is why their plan revolves around him?
@@munkhgalamarmend8809 I mean, obviously Midoriya’s their best bet, but they’re straight up perpetuating his suffering. Like, it’s straight up irresponsible. Like, if you’re putting a kid on the frontlines, the least you can do is make sure he’s well-taken care of.
12:50 something i have to say about this scene is that in the anime they made it seem as if Deku was just ignoring them but what really happened in the manga is that danger sense activated and Deku responded super fast and left the place flying ultra fast and then he landed here to save the people in danger 13:44

Personally I see zero resentment from Deku towards all might for giving him OFA. Deku is only pushing all might away to protect him. You have to imagine how hard this is on all might. He thought AFO was defeated when he gave the quirk to Deku and now he can’t do almost anything to help him with the burden HE gave to him.
(At 12:23) His suit is burnt and he's worn out. The worst part is, he's already past this limitation and he's not planning on stopping. He's overworking himself.
You know, I wish there could’ve been a part where class A was also surprised to discover that Bakugo knew the whole time as well and one of his classmates would’ve been like how come he told you and not like one of his closest friends like uraraka or llida. Then uraraka would say it makes sense why he would tell you because you were someone who tries the best Deku at Being the best and it Wouldn’t feel right if you didn’t know how he became Tough and powerful.
I had to split the heroes efforts with Deku’s active efforts and the kids beginning to realize the absolute dire need of an intervention. This is Deku’s efforts and catching up with the kids. (I even had to make a 3rd for Deku’s headspace. Subjects are REALLY important to me today.) Deku simply DOES NOT STOP. He’s literally holding himself up with Blackwhip and refuses every single check up because it’s what he was TAUGHT TO DO. The heroes are getting desperate to stop him and are telling him not to stop so he doesn’t burn out. But he just WON’T. Internal voices are ignored as nothing but another “brick.” (That “brick” is a whole comment worth. This headspace is a nightmare) The OFA wielders are starting to freak out. Some blame their added burdens, some blame his dream of wanting to be a superhero, and Banjo in my opinion hits the closest to the marker WHILE giving a glimpse why HE wasn’t seen at all by All-Might. We learned recently when a vestige is not on board with a wielder, they become shadow vestiges like the 2nd and 3rd. Present but dismissive. And Banjo was a shadow vestige for All-Might as he is the only wielder Deku had to identify for HIM not the other way around. He does NOT like how Deku is going around like All-Might did refusing all rest and backup while attending literally every little incident he finds. And he’s falling further and further from any level of prepared for any AFO battle that awaits him. He’s not even getting to fulfill the peace and relaxing the public with his presence. The public is TERRIFIED of him. They have to confirm if he’s an AFO soldier even though he’s helping them. Like the couple that saw Deku practicing OFA in the alleyway before he officially achieves full cowling armor while he stayed with Gran Torino. He’s not just going nonstop but to really sell how far he’s going, this time out here, like THIS. He’s out here for a MONTH. A MONTH of straight combat, searching, rescuing, containing, being a detective. ALL ON HIS OWN. He might be the symbol class of hero and he was chosen and trained to do so, but this is a MASSIVE ASK on his mind, body, and 1000x more his emotions. He’s literally looking at the work ahead of him not as this is for the people, but so that he can find a reason, ANY REASON to smile. He lumps every last hiding villain on his shoulders. He’s covered in mud, blood, and has a LARGE amount of untreated injuries. And his methods with villains is AT BEST let’s say terrifying if he shows up and people collapse regardless that they are villains. And here comes a 3rd hired gun! Dictator has the ability to control people against their will with the quirk Despot and is much more accurately the quirk that people actually think Shinso has and fear. They don’t lose their ability to talk and think for themselves like brainwashing, they can talk and think for themselves…and it literally DOES NOT matter as he wills you to do as he chooses. Human shields, a personal mob, and he’s all too happy to throw these people at Deku. Deku has him outclassed in a THOUSAND different ways. But he’s got the famous Superman line holding him down. “I feel like I live in a world made out of cardboard. Always taking constant care so I don’t break something. Break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control. Someone could die.” He really has no safe level available to fight him at. And between his physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion, (LOOK AT THIS POOR KID WHEN HIS MASK GETS YANKED OFF. He is DEAD INSIDE.) Deku is just not even making decisions anymore. He just starts to succumb. His will is sapped. He can’t even so much as bring out his voice. The 2nd wielder who is the leader of the rebellion against AFO can’t deny he approves of this blitzing pace AND his methods. What is he going to do? Train in isolation while people get hurt? Leave people in need and nap? He has to train and save people simultaneously and CONSTANTLY to make a difference. And the 2nd and 3rd spoke about how victory and ending AFO is all that matters. That’s not Deku’s style to be concerned how far he’s gone in the name of saving and helping people. BUT the 2nd knows he’s missing one MASSIVE factor. And right on cue we get Bakugo flying in and 1 shotting Dictator. He is in genuine disbelief at what he’s looking at when he spots Deku and contacts the 18 others to be the backup he needs. With that we FINALLY catch up on how the kids have been investigating on their own and how they’ve been catching up on Deku’s circumstances. Bakugo of course when the letters were received was PRETTY pissed off that even though he knew all the secrets and helped train Deku that HE was left out. He had the whole conversation with All-Might in season 3 that he was sadly unworthy of OFA in spite of his protests but they settled he could be in this crew with the secrets. (Unworthy as a candidate. All-Might was trying SO HARD not to say he was unworthy outright but he gave a political dodge that proved he wasn’t even on the docket and Bakugo caught it.) That being said he is VERY aware how this whole mission operates. When Deku ran off, he caught that suddenly all the top 3 hero mentors were suddenly impossible to contact. Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, and of course All-Might not coming back. No way would they let him be field active without supervision. The kids hearing Bakugo tell them more how they would operate is all they need to go to the ACTUAL OFA inner circle operatives. Recovery Girl isn’t exactly good for intel on all this. But Nezu sure is. And Uraraka is going to rip this open for them ALL to take part. Endeavor of course does not hesitate to come and hear out Nezu. Leaving one less set of eyes on Deku as he is STILL field active all day and night. But while I am aggravated how they watch Deku out there, I HAVE to defend Endeavor right here. I know Shoto wants to go after Touya as a family, and I know Endeavor went back on his word. BUT since that conversation he’s been hurdled into the AFO investigations with the OFA inner circle. And no matter what Shoto says about how he needs closure about Touya and wants to go after him, the AFO’s and the Nomu are ALL Endeavor has to say considering he was swatted away like a bug by quirkless AFS and was treated like a loud kid at the library by AFO. The kids are IMMENSELY outclassed by these villains personal stakes or not. And the whole OFA top secret investigations being filled in by children in the ranks is just…NOT ok as things stand. Again I know the situation but Shoto doesn’t have much to demand. BAKUGO on the other hand DOES have more to demand. He knows Deku will isolate himself more. He KNOWS that Deku is going to stop listening to his supervision and knows All-Might is in no position to stop him in ANY SENSE AT ALL. And based on how he’s talking…he’s seen the condition Deku is currently enduring before. And for him to sound GENUINELY frightened and when you think about where and when he’s most likely seen this condition…it only fits before OFA was revealed to him. Before UA. And as Deku’s active bully in those days…the chances he’s personally caused this state is sadly QUITE high. And Endeavor who is IMMENSELY concerned for Deku accidentally gives the kids too much info by looking at his tracker and saying his name and the kids just MOB HIM knowing they HAVE to intervene right then and there. They can’t let Deku just be on his own no matter how powerful he is. Nezu actually makes a call that sounds promising and makes sense of giving the kids the task of bringing Deku back to safety. But Endeavor lays out one of the big problems. He knows what the public opinion is of Deku and bringing him in will only cause WAY more unrest when they are trying to quell the unrest by ANY AMOUNT. And doesn’t want Deku to see it. (And trust me, yes that is a very valid concern) And that’s saying nothing of a target location in general no matter its fortification is not good especially with other targeted families that THEY ANNOUNCED ON TV IS THE SAME SHELTER so hostage potential is dangerous. But it’s outweighed that Deku just flat out needs an intervention and he needs one NOW. He deserves every ounce of peace of mind they can offer now that they know how much pain he’s ACTUALLY IN. And out they go. How does it start? Oh my god Bakugo please for the LOVE OF GOD don’t do what I think you’re about to and….he’s doing it. He’s insulting Deku. He is mocking his efforts and calling him names. HERE. LIKE THIS. DURING AN INTERVENTION. Trying to scream at him he’s no All-Might while he’s doing the EXACT EFFORTS isn’t going to do ANYTHING and is only going to cause him pain ESPECIALLY when anyone questions his lack of ability all he does is TRY HARDER, the LAST THING you want him to do when you are trying to convince him he deserves peace of mind and rest. IN THIS CONDITION. Deku doesn’t even understand why they are here he’s so lost, and doesn’t for an instant accept what’s in front of him as he just goes to leave them and continue like he didn’t just shut down completely for a few moments while he was getting attacked by Dictator’s mob. Everyone has come united that they CAN NOT let him go, and Uraraka and Iida ESPECIALLY look like they are not going to let him go anywhere. If he doesn’t come willingly, the only way to stop him is to stop him by force. And Bakugo doing the All-Might smile and being THIS hyped to do this does NOT fill me with confidence. But next episode is WITHOUT QUESTION my favorite in ALL OF MHA. It took the crown over EVERY FANTASTIC EPISODE. And it finally won out over All-Might’s last stand for me.
- Dictator's power is a lot like a character from Demon Slayer's, though this ability is a lot more . . . PG than that show's. 😬 - It's always neat to hear characters like Nezu or Gran Torino refer to Endeavor by his last name Todoroki, more so from Nezu given Endeavor's UA alumni. Although, how old does that make Nezu is he was principal during Endeavor's time? 🤔 - I firmly believe that Bakugo will NEVER truly get on your good side, even after next episode. If you are STILL getting on the kid's case this late in the game, after all the development and introspection he's gone through, then I feel like nothing short of a self-sacrifice could finally meet you warm up to him. I can't even tell if you like him as a character anymore.
@@HaydrogenBomb I have a very specific plan how to cover Bakugo and his story. (But I also won’t deny that I choose a VERY specific point to be positive with how he treats Deku. And I will do just that. You probably won’t agree with my timing to let go but I feel pretty strongly about it) This point where he barrels forward as usual during a CRUCIAL intervention and the scene he caused at the hospital was NOT a point I could in good conscience say was REMOTELY close to in his favor of convincing me how much has changed. But scenes where Kirishima has self doubts and Bakugo IMMEDIATELY comes to his defense not in any screaming match, or belittling him but instantly telling him what he needs to hear to encourage him is the Bakugo I know that from the depths of his heart cares. I just…NEVER see it with Deku. It’s a SUPREMELY long road from bully/victim to friends. What I always give credit for Bakugo is always the same. The strides he has made on a personal level is ENORMOUS. He’s truly become a better person and has shown massive growth. But that’s PERSONALLY. Relationship struggles and how you learn to treat other people is a horse of a VERY different color. I’ve seen he has methods to encourage and support his friends, I have seen the ENORMOUS respect he gives All-Might. I know there’s SO MUCH GOOD in this kid. But it makes me FURIOUS that Bakugo has found ways to ALWAYS put all that growth, that depth, that heart aside even when I can see it emerging for SECONDS with Deku, to roll it back to make his point with Deku. How does the guy that always knows to check on people like Sero, Kirishima, Kaminari, or even that little boss kid in season 4 and VARIOUS others but then refuses that same extension of care for Deku. Even when we know it’s there. I watch him getting into physical fights with Deku because Deku won’t let him scream at children, I have seen Bakugo throw things into Deku’s head for complimenting himself, I have seen him set aside crucial concerns he has of Deku’s wellbeing holding OFA to blow him up in their competitions when it is LITERALLY PHYSICAL WELLBEING he is concerned with, and I again state these are not the actions of a man pretending not to like you. He gives THAT to others no problem. Yes I’ll pay you for your night vision goggles you bought to save me but I don’t want people to see me do that so I’ll wear down Kaminari so everyone laughs at him. No I don’t want to make everyone feel better, let’s do what we can for ourselves with this music performance because WE didn’t ask to be blamed for everything villains did, I gave you my grenades because I lost to this meatball guy because I had full faith you’d get us out, but I’m mad you didn’t do it faster because I know you could have. THAT is someone pretending not to care. And let’s not even get into points where Kirishima is sad his armor isn’t flashy and Bakugo IMMEDIATELY shutting him down and saying that doesn’t mean you aren’t strong. You STAND strong and it works, and I believe in that. And it leads to Unbreakable one of Class A’s honestly strongest ultimate moves. I KNOW what he can give others and I smile ear to ear when he does it. But it’s DIFFERENT for someone you have deliberately tried to look down on for a decade. That doesn’t vanish EVEN when he finds out All-Might turned Deku into the literal chosen one. It takes time and on BOTH SIDES. And Bakugo puts more time and effort into specific people. I am more angry that people say everything Bakugo wants to hear and literally become the overhyping adults from season 1 which is LITERALLY one of the biggest contributions in how he was such a piece of work in season 1 and 2. I KNOW he can do better. And I want him to show it to the person that needs it. But with a start like that to an intervention, yeah I am still aggravated with how he treats Deku.
@Kaempfdog All the stuff you said about how Bakugo treats other people is precisely the point. Deku is just the ONE thing that gets under his skin more than anyone due to specific psychological reasons, both in and out of his control. Bakugo says as much next episode and tells Deku TO HIS FACE that he's sorry and wants to do better. Do ya GET it?
@@HaydrogenBombI can’t say much at this point but I have been prepping for that scene for quite some time. I literally have been setting up a number of scenes and subjects several seasons back in my analysis. I actually talk a little of Deku’s condition for this episode in season 4 when he’s so stressed waiting for Nighteye and the others to locate Eri’s room. Likewise I’ve been building my approach for Bakugo since season 3 when everyone becomes more forgiving of him.
Alright the time has come. I’ve brought up Deku’s eyes SEVERAL times throughout this arc and I have also said this arc hits me VERY personally. The time has come to talk about Empaths. But more specifically, the empath’s recoil. Some call it damaged Empaths, and I’m sure there are other names. I call it “exhausted empathy.” To say I’m familiar with this state is an understatement. I’ve spoken about an Empath’s ability to connect and how it just straight up gets to a point where it won’t shut off. 24/7/365. It IS based on experience. The more variety of emotion you experience, the more you connect to as an empath. But much like a quirk, an empath has an extra ability separate from regular people that also has a recoil when pushed too far. And it creates an entire different kind of functionality to live with such a circumstance. My analogy for that is a hiking pack full of bricks. This pack can’t be taken off. The stronger the empath, the larger the pack is. I equate to our connection ability not as me getting in your head like many people think is what we do, but more akin to someone throwing a brick at me. Every brick I relate to EVEN SLIGHTLY is homing. I can’t dodge, I can’t counter and there’s no real way to prevent the brick from being thrown at all. The thrower doesn’t have to speak, the thrower might think they are hiding a brick, but if an empath relates to even a SUPPRESSED feeling, the hiding the brick is its own brick. And the hidden brick is tossed with it. If we relate, it’s been thrown. But then it comes to relevancy. What we do in this situation is we catch these bricks. Each one. Individually. If it’s relevant, we want to help that person and we use it to help. If it’s not relevant, then we put down the brick. You need brick proof hands and you need to be very, VERY fast and VERY capable of switching gears. Obviously the vast majority is dedicated to family and friends, but it’s also used just because. Once we help someone and they feel relieved from their brick, we let it go as we also feel that relief. If that sounds exhausting, that’s because it is. If you’re hiking with too much packed, you need to rest more. Take off your bag, stretch get water, whatever. But as I said, that bag isn’t coming off. It’s not getting lighter. You’ve put too much on yourself. And THAT is where the recoil appears. And it doesn’t show itself as sadness, not anger, not fear. When someone breaks down that is normally what gets knocked out. For an empath it’s experiencing the opposite. We have such a wealth of emotions when it all fails, it’s sheer APATHY. NO EMOTION is available. But the worst part isn’t reaching the apathy. The worst part is THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU ARE NO LONGER AN EMPATH. YOU KEEP GOING. You still relate, you still have to catch bricks. But if you can’t lift your arms to stop them, the only place they go is right in the bag. And it spirals out of control FAST. Once the relevancy of the “brick” stops mattering it all gets all muddled. Doesn’t matter how well organized you are, you can color code, label, but once you’re apathetic, it can’t be RECOGNIZED as what you organized it as. It’s just a lump. And if you can’t see yourself, it’s all you. Everything you carry is you. And this goes from a problem to what I consider the biggest emotional burden a person can experience. Because there’s nothing an empath CAN’T connect with if they have the experience for it. And whatever rival you can think of for that worst spot can CONTRIBUTE and PERPETUATE the state because it’s just another brick that can be related to. Not just from the empath but other people’s worst demons. And to confuse other people’s demons at their worst for YOU, that’s a strain that can get to proper heartbreak. And there’s nothing worse than dying of a broken heart. Now take everything I said, and apply it to Deku. This kid has been through EVERY kind of strain you can imagine. Season’s 1-6 but ESPECIALLY Season 6. And there’s a running circumstance of after EVERY SINGLE major incident in this show, people don’t properly check on him. From not even checking on his broken bones properly and just throwing him on a stretcher in season 1 and 2, to getting kicked in the face for not listening rather than checking on him after a Stain encounter, I could go on. One of my favorites is after Overhaul, Ryukyu says well we can’t celebrate but thanks, as THE ONLY CHECK UP ON HIM after Infinite 100%. There are no recipes for making this state MORE dangerous than what we are looking at. Heck the backstory episodes for Hawks and Endeavor being on their mind throughout the start of this arc and now these people FIGURING OUT OFA and being in proximity, they are now fully RELEVANT to Deku. THOSE demons they carry. Currently reside and are muddled in Deku. The emotions from the war. The OFA wielders. RELEVANT. Heck he decided Lady Nagant was relevant. (Thankfully not Muscular but he still tried as a practice for making Tenko Shimura relevant.) Not to mention Gran Torino, his classmates, his mother, and more. We just watched an episode where he battled an assassin at Mach 13.5, and I’m LESS concerned about his physical well being now than his emotional, and he got SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES. He’s not eating, he’s not sleeping, he’s lost a lot of weight, he’s not ANYTHING because his mind and body won’t even cooperate with him anymore. They can’t. He’s locked away in a coffin of apathy. He’s buried in the bricks because he can’t sustain them. Are there ways out? Yes. But they are VERY conditional. Only someone with the ABSOLUTE HIGHEST level of trust can identify the true feelings of the empath enduring this. They can’t tell what you’re carrying but they CAN tell what YOU are feeling. And if you can identify that for the empath, the empath can see who they are, and who they aren’t. And while they aren’t HEALED, they can untangle what they’ve carried and recover. Which can take a LONG time depending what they are carrying. Once a certain threshold is reached, it’s not possible for the empath to break free. A little after they 1st get apathetic and they become unresponsive, THAT is when it gets there. And then it’s up to someone else to intervene as they barrel downhill. Well…Deku is LONG in this state and he’s been on the field for a MONTH since he woke up now. And you can look at a list of characters and narrow down who is capable of identifying him. Not the hero, not the OFA successor, but Izuku Midoriya. And when THAT is taken into account, that list is TERRIFYINGLY small. 2 have potential. But the only one with the capacity is 1 person. Not his mom, not his dad or his teachers, they are now completely shut out as anything. Just another contribution to the pile as he has held himself responsible for how they feel MUCH more than they have attempted to take any involvement in how HE feels. Well there’s 5 main student characters. Surely it’s Bakugo? NO. NO. A THOUSAND TIMES NO. This guy is in the WORST position of all 19 kids. And I’d say TOGA is more suited. How do I know? Rule #1 of helping someone in a breakdown. DON’T MAKE FUN OF THEM AT THEIR MOST VULNERABLE AND MOCK THEIR BIGGEST VULNERABILITIES. Bakugo gotta Bakugo yes, I know. But there is not a WORSE time to take such an approach. He’s been trying to live up to his legacy this whole time, BREAKING HIMSELF and your 1st thing to say to him is YOU’RE DOING A BAD JOB. YOU CAN’T SMILE. Funny one liners but the WORST approach. At this juncture at the level Deku is at, ANY burden thrown at him could be the LAST burden. He says he knows Deku but all he knows is THE MISSION. But as of this point outside finding Deku for the mission state, he is INCAPABLE of getting across. Deku only ever accommodates HIM. Probably more than ANYONE else in the show. This state is SO well done and the absolute destruction it can cause to the person in it. This hit the PERFECT notes. Namely because I had JUST recovered from this when this came out in the manga. (I made a full recovery and I’m doing very well.) That is why it’s so special to me. This arc is SO real to me because of Deku. That’s why I have zero doubts Deku is my all time favorite fictional character. This is just fantastic. Next episode? The new throne for favorite episode of MHA for me, and the following episode has my favorite singular moment.

@ I had no intention of saying the 2 capable characters of getting through to him. As the rest of the arc speaks for itself and I was gearing to say their praises nonstop when the time came. Both are on full display. As for the condition, yeah. I put a LOT of thought into it. Deku fell in for a month, I lost a LOT more time than he did and I focused a lot on what happened and how to prevent it again. (Mine I imagine wasn’t as intense for me to last longer. He barreled downhill way faster down a steeper slope near cliff face and my barrel went downhill a less steep but larger hill. But I imagine about the same energy was lost.)
God this is my empathy to a T. Like I have been struggling with emotional disregulation as it is, so Apathy is a very comforting place for me. Everything else is too much. I also have spent days without food or sleep (not at the same time thank the gods) so I am very attached to Deku after this arc. Like I liked him enough before, but now he is my favorite 1A character. I’ve had those eyes, I know them deeply; I just wanna hug him. He’s also my favorite character to draw which definitely helps lmao

But when you are prone to crying, laughing, and every other emotion under the sun, not just for yourself personally but with and for others, apathy is the absolute farthest thing from your natural state. And by the time you realize it, that’s when you realize just how much pain you’re really in. I hope your days are going to get brighter.
This episode followed one of MHA’s best fights…and it breaks my heart in two. Because this went from being a show built for my love of analyzing and themes I love to look at…to rewatching something I didn’t need a TV for and watching it happen to my personal favorite fictional character. This part of the story SPECIFICALLY is why this arc is my favorite in all of MHA. Because they 100% NAILED it. (I’ll leave a comment separate for Deku’s darkening eyes and what that is specifically. And I had to split episode halves analysis. This covers til All-Might collapses in the rain.) Now that Lady Nagant has given up the home base of AFO, or at the very least the dropoff point where the assassins would bring a defeated Deku, the heroes have gathered a few more main team members to join their ranks. We got hints Edgeshot was helping as he interrogated people in the Liberation and Garaki but this is the confirmation. Kamui Woods and Mount Lady have jumped into this crew too. With the majority of the remaining top pros…that aren’t trashed from war injuries that is, and Deku. They just walk right into the CRC manor. (The not KKK) Dabi was hanging out here in the Touya backstory episode with the fireplace burning with his blue flames. But AFO wasn’t going to stick around longer than a night here and took the crew with him. Lady Nagant is simply far too high of a level to wait that long. She has him in 24 hours of a rainy day, or she doesn’t. And when she didn’t contact, he knew Deku got her. And he was ALL too happy to boast about that for a recording on his new cave throne. Ready to boast that the idea of villains is wrong and people just shove out the desperate regardless of the type of government. Which does leave one main caveat being himself. He lives the high life just stringing everyone and everything he can find along the way. This is his game. You’re a piece on the board or a resource he assimilates. He is the embodiment of selfishness. He talked about how he hated All-Might for taking everything from him, his comrades his abilities, and All-Might threw a FIT that people were literally nothing but disposable to him. Regardless of loyalty, class, circumstance, he wants to take away EVERYTHING they have. And none he wants to take away MORE from then Deku. And the 1st thing he does to strip security from him? Reinforce the IMMENSE pressure on his back All-Might announced in season 3 and instead of showing him what he has to live up to, he shows him what he’s in for. (Also methinks that he’s not done with All-Might. Guy is so obsessed with him he had a body sculpted JUST to take people away from that security he once provided. And he’s still taking All-Might’s lines 1st and foremost) And brings the entire building down on them. Bit of an odd transition to all the heroes NOT OFA just chilling after that encounter. I wanted to see their reactions or see them escape. We all know they CAN, and clearly they did since no one was injured in that totally harmless 5 story forest fire. But now with the expanded hero crew available, they need to clear the air of their questions and concerns as Deku BREAKS himself to hurdle forward. They talk about Lady Nagant if she has more info available because they want to rely on LITERALLY anything else if they can. But the more they see the war between AFO and OFA, they know it’s literally impossible to not include Deku as alarming as they all see it. And they also see just how much AFO has Deku trapped on the path HE WANTS HIM on. They can’t recruit with the public backlash getting worse as the pressures on heroes increases. And it’s breaking trusted well known heroes INCLUDING the 1st hero we ever see being Death Arms. He was no vanity driven hero. And it’s not that he lacked ability to keep up or was just an extra face. We’ve seen how realistic he was about the job and knew the sad downsides AND how to cope with them. He was always frustrated when he couldn’t help. He did LITERALLY nothing wrong. He didn’t miss a SINGLE role in the war he had, teaching the kids (specifically Jiro in the internship), or being just regularly active. But the pressure increased the more people left HIM hanging to do more and HE got the backlash off the backs of others failures. And finally…he couldn’t take it. He wanted to help SO bad, but got bit rather than being praised. He would 1000% be in this OFA crew if this didn’t happen. And with people like HIM giving up, letting them into this operation is a massive risk when you need the public backlash away from Deku at all costs with the size and scope. Which Mount Lady is confused WITH such a weapon he can use, why isn’t AFO using it on Deku NOW? And yeah, isolating Deku from everyone at such a terrifying time would be nothing but counter-intuitive. (And Deku is in 0 SHAPE to endure something like that. He’s already in a terrible situation.) Endeavor can’t really help his family like they wanted to help him and vice versa like this. It’s all they can do to keep Deku alive and effective. And demanding Endeavor should be helping his family while they quietly wait for the 2 walking apocalypses to be found or to show themselves at LITERALLY ANY SECOND is…also a life decision that is out of reach in this situation. And for good measure to remind us of that. The moment silence falls over the room, they are snapped back into the case. Just like Deku CLEARLY snapped the spine of the 2nd hired gun. BACKS DON’T BEND THAT WAY. We learned that from Deku’s butt print crater injury when All-Might made his back sound like an empty water bottle and we learned in that fight you do NOT need much power to do that with OFA if they don’t have the defense and especially with Deku at the level he’s at. I’m going to take a guess this guy took a Muscular approach to being a villain and Deku was NOT having it. Either way I don’t know what makes Hawks sound more alarmed. That he got attacked by the 2nd assassin…or that he won instantly. And the fact he’s taking concern with the latter and sounds sad about it, they all know Deku is “starting” to break. (I don’t think they understand when this actually started which was pretty much the moment he went rogue and left the class behind) And what happens next is both one of the saddest scenes to watch and also what is quite frankly also one of the most satisfying. Now that Deku has really started slipping into a personally inescapable headspace…All-Might just looks at his handiwork and how he notes the 2nd hired gun “Had nothing useful to share, and he might explode. So be careful.” And that is literally ALL he says before trying to run off again. That is…actually REALLY cold and apathetic. All-Might wants him to rest and eat…but Deku shuts him down. He doesn’t want All-Might near him anymore. The MOMENT All-Might protests Deku shuts him down again and brings up he has OFA’s 100% with no backlash so what concern is there? Well for starters, YOU’RE LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH, EITHER TO ALL-MIGHT AND/OR YOURSELF. Literally all the wielders said you DON’T have the entirety of OFA, regardless of Fa Jin cooperation, and I tend not to take the words of someone in a catastrophic emotional headspace seriously when they are doing everything possible to push people away. This is the ONLY LINE in the show that supports that Deku is at Prime All-Might level now, and he’s surrounded by people that clearly think the opposite and want to intervene but can’t purely from the mission standpoint, INCLUDING the people IN HIS HEAD. And he admits JUST THAT not minutes later that he hasn’t unlocked or mastered everything. And the more All-Might tries to stop him trying to get him to rest, the less All-Might can get his voice to work to force out his protest. Sir Nighteye shouted at him for doing the EXACT SAME THING. And All-Might’s response was “For the sake of the world, I need to show them I am still here.” And he shut down every single cry Nighteye made to stop him and he was literally PLEADING IN AGONY. All-Might would literally sleep mid flight scene to scene in his more active days. He doesn’t have those dark eyes for no reason. He abused his own body and is now watching Deku fall to the same fate. He had Deku laying in front of him SEVERAL TIMES in a pile of broken bones, and he didn’t properly check on him and in fact encouraged him to do more. He found him in a CRATER Bakugo had FRESHLY PRESSED HIM IN and he checked only on Bakugo who was crying and NEVER ASKED IF DEKU WAS OK. He PUNCHED DEKU IN THE FACE for following his bad advice and gaslit him he ever made the bad advice in the 1st place. He didn’t check on Deku about Nighteye’s funeral or his fate and how he was handling it or talk to Deku about his conversation of giving Mirio OFA at a critical moment. He didn’t check on Deku after the Blackwhip incident despite him moving to stop it that day. Stacked with the many other people doing the EXACT SAME THING when they were in a position to check on him, and now at THE MOST CRITICAL MOMENT TO INTERVENE, Deku would likely not even believe him if he tried to check on him as ALL HE’S DONE is tank crisis after crisis and he just kept to himself about the EXCRUCIATING PAIN he’s had to endure. And as HEARTBREAKING as it is to see All-Might fall into the mud and breaking down he can’t protect his son, I just sat there thinking about him and ALL the heroes in the OFA crew and saying to myself “Interfering where you don’t necessarily have to is the essence of being a hero.” And watching NO ONE interfere as Deku quite frankly barrels down a road of self implosion. Congratulations All-Might. You made the new Symbol of Peace. And it appears there’s an audience to All-Might’s new lowest fall from grace. The Hero Killer Stain. (Make no mistake I WEEP watching this, but I also know All-Might TRULY brought this on himself)
With so many heroes stepping out of the ring, it really feels special to see Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady still around, and in the heroes's main operation no less. Considering they were among the first Pros and characters we were introduced to in the pilot episode, seeing them step up during the show's darkest hours feels incredibly satisfying. This goes double for Mt. Lady; she's always been one of my favorite characters, and her development is downright underrated.
@@HaydrogenBomb I LOVE Mount Lady’s development from a vain and image heavy hero becoming a serious hero operative and her growing care for all the kids in Class A from literally the MOMENT she teaches them in the public performing class. (And she does on the down low really care about Mineta which in of itself is a feat of character to see he DOES care but definitely has character flaws he has to get over/has gotten over since there’s no more Mineta incidents) She’s a character I have a LOT of praise for. Kamui doesn’t have an arc per se but he is always an enjoyable character to watch.
It's a small detail but it's interesting to see Deku unintentionally using the same technique all for one used with shigaraki's broken body. AFO used Rivet Stab coming directly from Shigaraki's spine to prop him up in their last battle and now Deku is using blackwhip to do something similar.
I just absolutely love the way AFO is the anti All Might, stealing his lines and changing their meanings like in their fight in Kamino when AFO said he is here and now also, just a great villian to the greatest hero
30:11 I think resentment is the wrong feeling to use here. The only person Izuku genuinely shows any form of resentment towards is All for One, because he’s realizing the extent he’s willing to hurt and use people for his personal goals. I think Izuku is just finally realizing and internalizing just how absolutely stressful and terrifying being the symbol of peace is. Fear can manifest as aggression, we’ve seen it before with many other characters on the show. Izuku believes he is solely responsible for ensuring everyone else’s safety (like All Might), and he is so consumed by his fear of being responsible for the loss of anyone, especially his loved ones, that he’s putting aside the people around him’s willingness to help in order to shoulder the entire burden alone. What he said to All Might was basically “I finally reached your power level, I can emulate you perfectly. Why are you still worried about me? why don’t you trust me to keep you safe?”, without considering that, people just care about him and want him to be safe and okay, regardless of how overwhelmingly powerful he is (Like how All Might rejected Nighteye’s concern, and practically kept any person who cares about him at arm’s length). Izuku is speedrunning All Might’s beginning as a hero, and All Might (now seeing it from an outside pov) is finally understanding how worried his loved ones have been for him. Fortunately, unlike All Might, Izuku’s friends and classmates have all been inspired like he has to pursue genuine heroism, and thus, they can stand beside him as equals rather than more people to be kept safe, which in turn can allow Izuku to lean on them more and not try to keep carrying the entire world like All Might had to.
I appreciate that it was basically all the side characters with the least character development (thus far) that lunged for the tracker. Basically put a lampshade on the whole "we've had the least screentime and moments, but we care too!"

Deku using blackwhip to support his exhausted body and keep fighting is so cool😎. This is just start i know what peak is coming for blackwhip since i completed the whole manga.
I just gotta say of how Deku is thinking about how he’s going to stop all for one and shigaraki and the league of villains that’s not just going to be it because it’s more than just them. A lot of things that are going to happen in that war 2 battle not just them.
I have to say for Deku he really is dealing with this burden as a bit too far just like with all might; and all for one is just messing with him with his brilliance of being one step ahead and keeping him and shigaraki away from the distance from Deku so that he could keep finding them until he’s all out of power and doesn’t have much of the strength to do anything which is kinda like the game of tag and little of hide and seek

Something that I find really stupid and irritating is that some people claim 1-A going after Deku in order him back is a mistake which is just flat out wrong he's wearing himself down to the bone he's exhausted he's been battered and bruised yet is still pushing himself while injured if they didn't go after him when they did he would've been killed either by an Assassin by AFO or by Shigaraki
And the thing is if Deku was actually taking care of himself (eating, sleeping, stuff like that) class 1A probably would be okay with it. They even said that they initally were only going to fight with him in the streets, it was the principal who told them to bring him back.
When is your channel going to get verified? I am not sure what the process is, but you should really look in to it. I heard there are a lot of benefits associated with getting verified.

All Might feels incredibly GUILTY about giving Izuku One For All. Remember: at the beginning of the series, All Might thought All For One was DEAD. All Might had killed him. This was supposed to be OVER. Then he passes the power on to this kid, only for the Demon Lord to return. All Might never meant to pass on THAT burden.
Actually, All Might didnt think All for One was dead. He thought that AFO had been weakened since AFO always finds ways to escape. But he never knew that AFO had been grooming someone to take his place. So instead of one, we are dealing with 2 threats and he feels guilty that izuku is dealing with a bigger burden than just All For One.
Seeing Death Arms throw in the towel is a bummer, considering he was one of the first Pros we met in the series, alongside Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods.
Glad to see they're still around, especially Lady. Her development in this show is straight up underrated.
Man, I felt bad for that hero knowing hero society is now reducing with its believing in heroes That like he said one insult or boo or maybe many of those things can overshadow cheers and some heroes can handle that can’t handle all the hate and disappointment knowing that one of them did their best but all that destruction and other deaths of people and heroes can spread fear to the hearts and minds of survivors and viewers
As someone who went through gaslighting and abuse for years I can confirm, when you are being constantly dragged through the mud and told you are useless there is almost no amount of cheers or compliments that will break through the negative. It took YEARS for me to be able to actually take a compliment or feel good when getting one. This is a short term version of that, in my eyes. Trauma is trauma, regardless of duration.
Uh it wont be the heros that will Convince the people to let deku back into u.a it will be urarkau.
Mt. Lady went from someone who became a hero for fame, in ep.1 to someone who is always risking her life and body taking on threats above her. Her growth was both quite and massive.
Mt Lady really had the heart if a hero emerge through every great villain event.

God I love this arc.
It takes one of Deku's defining characteristics - his desire to protect others without any regard for his own wellbeing - and exposes just how dangerous that mindset really is, and how easily it can be used by someone like All For One to his own advantage.
Deku has constantly gotten praise for how far he'll go to save someone, his willingness to put himself in grave danger to keep others safe. But here's where it comes full circle: that trait, that aspect of himself that people have called his greatest strength, is also his greatest weakness. Deku, deep down, doesn't care about himself. He doesn't value who he is as an individual anymore. Now he sees himself as... just another vessel for OFA, one that needs to stop AFO no matter what.
Deku's mask was originally based on All Might's smile (before he got the upgrade in S2), and seeing it slowly weather away is heartbreaking. Especially when he leaves All Might, in the manga it looked more like a smile and him just saying "i'm fine" was so sad.
*As terrifying as it would be to face All for One, there’s something truly scary about having to fight people that you know and love. Even if the plan is to keep them away from you, and not to hurt them, it doesn’t make it any less painful to push away the people you love.*

I just love that bakugou is at the front of this escapade. Like he’s the one who Deku sees first. I think that alone is such a comfort cuz bakugo has been the only one who knew the whole time. Bakugo is chasing for the top with him, so for him to fall back on his dream to make sure Deku can get back up again and go towards the top again as Bakugo’s healthy rival. Bakugo calling him “are you able to smile right now” is so big because that was Delu’s whole reason and mantra for saving people. He wanted to save people with a smile and be a reason to make others smile, but the fact he can’t smile and the people he saves fear him even more than praise him is such a destroying image. I love the friend dynamic with bakugo and Deku and this episode really shows that dynamic off and how powerful that bond is between them
I feel bad for Deku, man. After AFO saying he's coming after him, he became hellbent on not letting anyone get close to him. I can't blame him either, we've seen just how far AFO will go to get what he wants. He feels like he's the only one who should carry this burden and because of that he's exhausted himself. And he's still kid too.
Man Deku is up against a villain who’s been around for a very long time trying to catch that power to fulfill his dark dream and he thought about so many ideas and schemes from and those many years So yeah AFO is a very perfect villain mastermind. I hope Deku feels OK.

Mount Lady had the most unspoken character growth. She starts off as a fame chaser, using her figure to get free food, using Mineta as free housecleaning, etc. Then when they rescue Bakugo, she takes her first step, taking a magician to the face while saying, "Prioritize the rescue". And here? Even as veterans like Death Arms gives up, she doubles down, and steps up to be the hero she needs to be.
Props to her, and a salute to Mount Lady.
I don't think Deku resents All Might at all. That would require a level of self-concern that I don't think he has. Deku has never once expressed any kind of "Why me" sentiment. He's never bemoaned what he has to do, or what he has to deal with. Only ever if he can actually do what he has to do successfully.
Fun fact: the paneling of Death Arms quitting is a direct reference to when Spiderman quit in the comics

What I find interesting here is that while we’re being shown how the public is turning on the heroes somewhat unfairly, we’re also shown big flaws with how a lot of the heroes do things. Like here, the fact that their plan hinges on a sleep deprived teenager calling the shots. Only one of them was actually trying to make sure that the kid was eating. Sometimes their “logical” way of doing things is incredibly irresponsible. It’s great the class stepped in, since Midoriya definitely would’ve collapsed had he been left with the heroes.
Maybe that sleep deprived kid is the one with the most powerful capability and knows a lot about the villains maybe that is why their plan revolves around him?

Personally I see zero resentment from Deku towards all might for giving him OFA. Deku is only pushing all might away to protect him. You have to imagine how hard this is on all might. He thought AFO was defeated when he gave the quirk to Deku and now he can’t do almost anything to help him with the burden HE gave to him.

You know, I wish there could’ve been a part where class A was also surprised to discover that Bakugo knew the whole time as well and one of his classmates would’ve been like how come he told you and not like one of his closest friends like uraraka or llida. Then uraraka would say it makes sense why he would tell you because you were someone who tries the best Deku at Being the best and it Wouldn’t feel right if you didn’t know how he became Tough and powerful.
I had to split the heroes efforts with Deku’s active efforts and the kids beginning to realize the absolute dire need of an intervention. This is Deku’s efforts and catching up with the kids. (I even had to make a 3rd for Deku’s headspace. Subjects are REALLY important to me today.)
Deku simply DOES NOT STOP. He’s literally holding himself up with Blackwhip and refuses every single check up because it’s what he was TAUGHT TO DO. The heroes are getting desperate to stop him and are telling him not to stop so he doesn’t burn out. But he just WON’T. Internal voices are ignored as nothing but another “brick.” (That “brick” is a whole comment worth. This headspace is a nightmare) The OFA wielders are starting to freak out. Some blame their added burdens, some blame his dream of wanting to be a superhero, and Banjo in my opinion hits the closest to the marker WHILE giving a glimpse why HE wasn’t seen at all by All-Might. We learned recently when a vestige is not on board with a wielder, they become shadow vestiges like the 2nd and 3rd. Present but dismissive. And Banjo was a shadow vestige for All-Might as he is the only wielder Deku had to identify for HIM not the other way around. He does NOT like how Deku is going around like All-Might did refusing all rest and backup while attending literally every little incident he finds. And he’s falling further and further from any level of prepared for any AFO battle that awaits him.
He’s not even getting to fulfill the peace and relaxing the public with his presence. The public is TERRIFIED of him. They have to confirm if he’s an AFO soldier even though he’s helping them. Like the couple that saw Deku practicing OFA in the alleyway before he officially achieves full cowling armor while he stayed with Gran Torino. He’s not just going nonstop but to really sell how far he’s going, this time out here, like THIS. He’s out here for a MONTH. A MONTH of straight combat, searching, rescuing, containing, being a detective. ALL ON HIS OWN. He might be the symbol class of hero and he was chosen and trained to do so, but this is a MASSIVE ASK on his mind, body, and 1000x more his emotions. He’s literally looking at the work ahead of him not as this is for the people, but so that he can find a reason, ANY REASON to smile. He lumps every last hiding villain on his shoulders. He’s covered in mud, blood, and has a LARGE amount of untreated injuries. And his methods with villains is AT BEST let’s say terrifying if he shows up and people collapse regardless that they are villains.
And here comes a 3rd hired gun! Dictator has the ability to control people against their will with the quirk Despot and is much more accurately the quirk that people actually think Shinso has and fear. They don’t lose their ability to talk and think for themselves like brainwashing, they can talk and think for themselves…and it literally DOES NOT matter as he wills you to do as he chooses. Human shields, a personal mob, and he’s all too happy to throw these people at Deku. Deku has him outclassed in a THOUSAND different ways. But he’s got the famous Superman line holding him down. “I feel like I live in a world made out of cardboard. Always taking constant care so I don’t break something. Break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control. Someone could die.” He really has no safe level available to fight him at. And between his physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion, (LOOK AT THIS POOR KID WHEN HIS MASK GETS YANKED OFF. He is DEAD INSIDE.) Deku is just not even making decisions anymore. He just starts to succumb. His will is sapped. He can’t even so much as bring out his voice.
The 2nd wielder who is the leader of the rebellion against AFO can’t deny he approves of this blitzing pace AND his methods. What is he going to do? Train in isolation while people get hurt? Leave people in need and nap? He has to train and save people simultaneously and CONSTANTLY to make a difference. And the 2nd and 3rd spoke about how victory and ending AFO is all that matters. That’s not Deku’s style to be concerned how far he’s gone in the name of saving and helping people. BUT the 2nd knows he’s missing one MASSIVE factor. And right on cue we get Bakugo flying in and 1 shotting Dictator. He is in genuine disbelief at what he’s looking at when he spots Deku and contacts the 18 others to be the backup he needs.
With that we FINALLY catch up on how the kids have been investigating on their own and how they’ve been catching up on Deku’s circumstances. Bakugo of course when the letters were received was PRETTY pissed off that even though he knew all the secrets and helped train Deku that HE was left out. He had the whole conversation with All-Might in season 3 that he was sadly unworthy of OFA in spite of his protests but they settled he could be in this crew with the secrets. (Unworthy as a candidate. All-Might was trying SO HARD not to say he was unworthy outright but he gave a political dodge that proved he wasn’t even on the docket and Bakugo caught it.) That being said he is VERY aware how this whole mission operates. When Deku ran off, he caught that suddenly all the top 3 hero mentors were suddenly impossible to contact. Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, and of course All-Might not coming back. No way would they let him be field active without supervision. The kids hearing Bakugo tell them more how they would operate is all they need to go to the ACTUAL OFA inner circle operatives. Recovery Girl isn’t exactly good for intel on all this. But Nezu sure is. And Uraraka is going to rip this open for them ALL to take part.
Endeavor of course does not hesitate to come and hear out Nezu. Leaving one less set of eyes on Deku as he is STILL field active all day and night. But while I am aggravated how they watch Deku out there, I HAVE to defend Endeavor right here. I know Shoto wants to go after Touya as a family, and I know Endeavor went back on his word. BUT since that conversation he’s been hurdled into the AFO investigations with the OFA inner circle. And no matter what Shoto says about how he needs closure about Touya and wants to go after him, the AFO’s and the Nomu are ALL Endeavor has to say considering he was swatted away like a bug by quirkless AFS and was treated like a loud kid at the library by AFO. The kids are IMMENSELY outclassed by these villains personal stakes or not. And the whole OFA top secret investigations being filled in by children in the ranks is just…NOT ok as things stand. Again I know the situation but Shoto doesn’t have much to demand.
BAKUGO on the other hand DOES have more to demand. He knows Deku will isolate himself more. He KNOWS that Deku is going to stop listening to his supervision and knows All-Might is in no position to stop him in ANY SENSE AT ALL. And based on how he’s talking…he’s seen the condition Deku is currently enduring before. And for him to sound GENUINELY frightened and when you think about where and when he’s most likely seen this condition…it only fits before OFA was revealed to him. Before UA. And as Deku’s active bully in those days…the chances he’s personally caused this state is sadly QUITE high. And Endeavor who is IMMENSELY concerned for Deku accidentally gives the kids too much info by looking at his tracker and saying his name and the kids just MOB HIM knowing they HAVE to intervene right then and there. They can’t let Deku just be on his own no matter how powerful he is.
Nezu actually makes a call that sounds promising and makes sense of giving the kids the task of bringing Deku back to safety. But Endeavor lays out one of the big problems. He knows what the public opinion is of Deku and bringing him in will only cause WAY more unrest when they are trying to quell the unrest by ANY AMOUNT. And doesn’t want Deku to see it. (And trust me, yes that is a very valid concern) And that’s saying nothing of a target location in general no matter its fortification is not good especially with other targeted families that THEY ANNOUNCED ON TV IS THE SAME SHELTER so hostage potential is dangerous. But it’s outweighed that Deku just flat out needs an intervention and he needs one NOW. He deserves every ounce of peace of mind they can offer now that they know how much pain he’s ACTUALLY IN. And out they go.
How does it start? Oh my god Bakugo please for the LOVE OF GOD don’t do what I think you’re about to and….he’s doing it. He’s insulting Deku. He is mocking his efforts and calling him names. HERE. LIKE THIS. DURING AN INTERVENTION. Trying to scream at him he’s no All-Might while he’s doing the EXACT EFFORTS isn’t going to do ANYTHING and is only going to cause him pain ESPECIALLY when anyone questions his lack of ability all he does is TRY HARDER, the LAST THING you want him to do when you are trying to convince him he deserves peace of mind and rest. IN THIS CONDITION. Deku doesn’t even understand why they are here he’s so lost, and doesn’t for an instant accept what’s in front of him as he just goes to leave them and continue like he didn’t just shut down completely for a few moments while he was getting attacked by Dictator’s mob. Everyone has come united that they CAN NOT let him go, and Uraraka and Iida ESPECIALLY look like they are not going to let him go anywhere. If he doesn’t come willingly, the only way to stop him is to stop him by force. And Bakugo doing the All-Might smile and being THIS hyped to do this does NOT fill me with confidence.
But next episode is WITHOUT QUESTION my favorite in ALL OF MHA. It took the crown over EVERY FANTASTIC EPISODE. And it finally won out over All-Might’s last stand for me.

- It's always neat to hear characters like Nezu or Gran Torino refer to Endeavor by his last name Todoroki, more so from Nezu given Endeavor's UA alumni. Although, how old does that make Nezu is he was principal during Endeavor's time? 🤔
- I firmly believe that Bakugo will NEVER truly get on your good side, even after next episode. If you are STILL getting on the kid's case this late in the game, after all the development and introspection he's gone through, then I feel like nothing short of a self-sacrifice could finally meet you warm up to him. I can't even tell if you like him as a character anymore.
@@HaydrogenBomb I have a very specific plan how to cover Bakugo and his story. (But I also won’t deny that I choose a VERY specific point to be positive with how he treats Deku. And I will do just that. You probably won’t agree with my timing to let go but I feel pretty strongly about it)
This point where he barrels forward as usual during a CRUCIAL intervention and the scene he caused at the hospital was NOT a point I could in good conscience say was REMOTELY close to in his favor of convincing me how much has changed. But scenes where Kirishima has self doubts and Bakugo IMMEDIATELY comes to his defense not in any screaming match, or belittling him but instantly telling him what he needs to hear to encourage him is the Bakugo I know that from the depths of his heart cares.
I just…NEVER see it with Deku. It’s a SUPREMELY long road from bully/victim to friends. What I always give credit for Bakugo is always the same. The strides he has made on a personal level is ENORMOUS. He’s truly become a better person and has shown massive growth. But that’s PERSONALLY.
Relationship struggles and how you learn to treat other people is a horse of a VERY different color. I’ve seen he has methods to encourage and support his friends, I have seen the ENORMOUS respect he gives All-Might. I know there’s SO MUCH GOOD in this kid. But it makes me FURIOUS that Bakugo has found ways to ALWAYS put all that growth, that depth, that heart aside even when I can see it emerging for SECONDS with Deku, to roll it back to make his point with Deku. How does the guy that always knows to check on people like Sero, Kirishima, Kaminari, or even that little boss kid in season 4 and VARIOUS others but then refuses that same extension of care for Deku. Even when we know it’s there. I watch him getting into physical fights with Deku because Deku won’t let him scream at children, I have seen Bakugo throw things into Deku’s head for complimenting himself, I have seen him set aside crucial concerns he has of Deku’s wellbeing holding OFA to blow him up in their competitions when it is LITERALLY PHYSICAL WELLBEING he is concerned with, and I again state these are not the actions of a man pretending not to like you. He gives THAT to others no problem. Yes I’ll pay you for your night vision goggles you bought to save me but I don’t want people to see me do that so I’ll wear down Kaminari so everyone laughs at him. No I don’t want to make everyone feel better, let’s do what we can for ourselves with this music performance because WE didn’t ask to be blamed for everything villains did, I gave you my grenades because I lost to this meatball guy because I had full faith you’d get us out, but I’m mad you didn’t do it faster because I know you could have. THAT is someone pretending not to care. And let’s not even get into points where Kirishima is sad his armor isn’t flashy and Bakugo IMMEDIATELY shutting him down and saying that doesn’t mean you aren’t strong. You STAND strong and it works, and I believe in that. And it leads to Unbreakable one of Class A’s honestly strongest ultimate moves. I KNOW what he can give others and I smile ear to ear when he does it. But it’s DIFFERENT for someone you have deliberately tried to look down on for a decade. That doesn’t vanish EVEN when he finds out All-Might turned Deku into the literal chosen one. It takes time and on BOTH SIDES. And Bakugo puts more time and effort into specific people.
I am more angry that people say everything Bakugo wants to hear and literally become the overhyping adults from season 1 which is LITERALLY one of the biggest contributions in how he was such a piece of work in season 1 and 2. I KNOW he can do better. And I want him to show it to the person that needs it. But with a start like that to an intervention, yeah I am still aggravated with how he treats Deku.
@Kaempfdog All the stuff you said about how Bakugo treats other people is precisely the point. Deku is just the ONE thing that gets under his skin more than anyone due to specific psychological reasons, both in and out of his control.
Bakugo says as much next episode and tells Deku TO HIS FACE that he's sorry and wants to do better.

@@HaydrogenBombI can’t say much at this point but I have been prepping for that scene for quite some time. I literally have been setting up a number of scenes and subjects several seasons back in my analysis. I actually talk a little of Deku’s condition for this episode in season 4 when he’s so stressed waiting for Nighteye and the others to locate Eri’s room. Likewise I’ve been building my approach for Bakugo since season 3 when everyone becomes more forgiving of him.
Alright the time has come. I’ve brought up Deku’s eyes SEVERAL times throughout this arc and I have also said this arc hits me VERY personally. The time has come to talk about Empaths. But more specifically, the empath’s recoil. Some call it damaged Empaths, and I’m sure there are other names. I call it “exhausted empathy.”
To say I’m familiar with this state is an understatement. I’ve spoken about an Empath’s ability to connect and how it just straight up gets to a point where it won’t shut off. 24/7/365. It IS based on experience. The more variety of emotion you experience, the more you connect to as an empath. But much like a quirk, an empath has an extra ability separate from regular people that also has a recoil when pushed too far. And it creates an entire different kind of functionality to live with such a circumstance.
My analogy for that is a hiking pack full of bricks. This pack can’t be taken off. The stronger the empath, the larger the pack is. I equate to our connection ability not as me getting in your head like many people think is what we do, but more akin to someone throwing a brick at me. Every brick I relate to EVEN SLIGHTLY is homing. I can’t dodge, I can’t counter and there’s no real way to prevent the brick from being thrown at all. The thrower doesn’t have to speak, the thrower might think they are hiding a brick, but if an empath relates to even a SUPPRESSED feeling, the hiding the brick is its own brick. And the hidden brick is tossed with it. If we relate, it’s been thrown.
But then it comes to relevancy. What we do in this situation is we catch these bricks. Each one. Individually. If it’s relevant, we want to help that person and we use it to help. If it’s not relevant, then we put down the brick. You need brick proof hands and you need to be very, VERY fast and VERY capable of switching gears. Obviously the vast majority is dedicated to family and friends, but it’s also used just because. Once we help someone and they feel relieved from their brick, we let it go as we also feel that relief.
If that sounds exhausting, that’s because it is. If you’re hiking with too much packed, you need to rest more. Take off your bag, stretch get water, whatever. But as I said, that bag isn’t coming off. It’s not getting lighter. You’ve put too much on yourself. And THAT is where the recoil appears. And it doesn’t show itself as sadness, not anger, not fear. When someone breaks down that is normally what gets knocked out. For an empath it’s experiencing the opposite. We have such a wealth of emotions when it all fails, it’s sheer APATHY. NO EMOTION is available. But the worst part isn’t reaching the apathy. The worst part is THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU ARE NO LONGER AN EMPATH. YOU KEEP GOING. You still relate, you still have to catch bricks. But if you can’t lift your arms to stop them, the only place they go is right in the bag. And it spirals out of control FAST.
Once the relevancy of the “brick” stops mattering it all gets all muddled. Doesn’t matter how well organized you are, you can color code, label, but once you’re apathetic, it can’t be RECOGNIZED as what you organized it as. It’s just a lump. And if you can’t see yourself, it’s all you. Everything you carry is you. And this goes from a problem to what I consider the biggest emotional burden a person can experience. Because there’s nothing an empath CAN’T connect with if they have the experience for it. And whatever rival you can think of for that worst spot can CONTRIBUTE and PERPETUATE the state because it’s just another brick that can be related to. Not just from the empath but other people’s worst demons. And to confuse other people’s demons at their worst for YOU, that’s a strain that can get to proper heartbreak. And there’s nothing worse than dying of a broken heart.
Now take everything I said, and apply it to Deku. This kid has been through EVERY kind of strain you can imagine. Season’s 1-6 but ESPECIALLY Season 6. And there’s a running circumstance of after EVERY SINGLE major incident in this show, people don’t properly check on him. From not even checking on his broken bones properly and just throwing him on a stretcher in season 1 and 2, to getting kicked in the face for not listening rather than checking on him after a Stain encounter, I could go on. One of my favorites is after Overhaul, Ryukyu says well we can’t celebrate but thanks, as THE ONLY CHECK UP ON HIM after Infinite 100%. There are no recipes for making this state MORE dangerous than what we are looking at. Heck the backstory episodes for Hawks and Endeavor being on their mind throughout the start of this arc and now these people FIGURING OUT OFA and being in proximity, they are now fully RELEVANT to Deku. THOSE demons they carry. Currently reside and are muddled in Deku. The emotions from the war. The OFA wielders. RELEVANT. Heck he decided Lady Nagant was relevant. (Thankfully not Muscular but he still tried as a practice for making Tenko Shimura relevant.) Not to mention Gran Torino, his classmates, his mother, and more. We just watched an episode where he battled an assassin at Mach 13.5, and I’m LESS concerned about his physical well being now than his emotional, and he got SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES. He’s not eating, he’s not sleeping, he’s lost a lot of weight, he’s not ANYTHING because his mind and body won’t even cooperate with him anymore. They can’t. He’s locked away in a coffin of apathy. He’s buried in the bricks because he can’t sustain them.
Are there ways out? Yes. But they are VERY conditional. Only someone with the ABSOLUTE HIGHEST level of trust can identify the true feelings of the empath enduring this. They can’t tell what you’re carrying but they CAN tell what YOU are feeling. And if you can identify that for the empath, the empath can see who they are, and who they aren’t. And while they aren’t HEALED, they can untangle what they’ve carried and recover. Which can take a LONG time depending what they are carrying. Once a certain threshold is reached, it’s not possible for the empath to break free. A little after they 1st get apathetic and they become unresponsive, THAT is when it gets there. And then it’s up to someone else to intervene as they barrel downhill.
Well…Deku is LONG in this state and he’s been on the field for a MONTH since he woke up now. And you can look at a list of characters and narrow down who is capable of identifying him. Not the hero, not the OFA successor, but Izuku Midoriya. And when THAT is taken into account, that list is TERRIFYINGLY small. 2 have potential. But the only one with the capacity is 1 person. Not his mom, not his dad or his teachers, they are now completely shut out as anything. Just another contribution to the pile as he has held himself responsible for how they feel MUCH more than they have attempted to take any involvement in how HE feels.
Well there’s 5 main student characters. Surely it’s Bakugo? NO. NO. A THOUSAND TIMES NO. This guy is in the WORST position of all 19 kids. And I’d say TOGA is more suited. How do I know? Rule #1 of helping someone in a breakdown. DON’T MAKE FUN OF THEM AT THEIR MOST VULNERABLE AND MOCK THEIR BIGGEST VULNERABILITIES. Bakugo gotta Bakugo yes, I know. But there is not a WORSE time to take such an approach. He’s been trying to live up to his legacy this whole time, BREAKING HIMSELF and your 1st thing to say to him is YOU’RE DOING A BAD JOB. YOU CAN’T SMILE. Funny one liners but the WORST approach. At this juncture at the level Deku is at, ANY burden thrown at him could be the LAST burden. He says he knows Deku but all he knows is THE MISSION. But as of this point outside finding Deku for the mission state, he is INCAPABLE of getting across. Deku only ever accommodates HIM. Probably more than ANYONE else in the show.
This state is SO well done and the absolute destruction it can cause to the person in it. This hit the PERFECT notes. Namely because I had JUST recovered from this when this came out in the manga. (I made a full recovery and I’m doing very well.) That is why it’s so special to me. This arc is SO real to me because of Deku. That’s why I have zero doubts Deku is my all time favorite fictional character. This is just fantastic. Next episode? The new throne for favorite episode of MHA for me, and the following episode has my favorite singular moment.

@ I had no intention of saying the 2 capable characters of getting through to him. As the rest of the arc speaks for itself and I was gearing to say their praises nonstop when the time came. Both are on full display.
As for the condition, yeah. I put a LOT of thought into it. Deku fell in for a month, I lost a LOT more time than he did and I focused a lot on what happened and how to prevent it again. (Mine I imagine wasn’t as intense for me to last longer. He barreled downhill way faster down a steeper slope near cliff face and my barrel went downhill a less steep but larger hill. But I imagine about the same energy was lost.)
God this is my empathy to a T. Like I have been struggling with emotional disregulation as it is, so Apathy is a very comforting place for me. Everything else is too much. I also have spent days without food or sleep (not at the same time thank the gods) so I am very attached to Deku after this arc. Like I liked him enough before, but now he is my favorite 1A character. I’ve had those eyes, I know them deeply; I just wanna hug him. He’s also my favorite character to draw which definitely helps lmao
@@echonvoid apathy is such a tricky beast. Because feeling nothing can trick you into thinking you can continue. But when you are prone to crying, laughing, and every other emotion under the sun, not just for yourself personally but with and for others, apathy is the absolute farthest thing from your natural state. And by the time you realize it, that’s when you realize just how much pain you’re really in. I hope your days are going to get brighter.
This episode followed one of MHA’s best fights…and it breaks my heart in two. Because this went from being a show built for my love of analyzing and themes I love to look at…to rewatching something I didn’t need a TV for and watching it happen to my personal favorite fictional character. This part of the story SPECIFICALLY is why this arc is my favorite in all of MHA. Because they 100% NAILED it. (I’ll leave a comment separate for Deku’s darkening eyes and what that is specifically. And I had to split episode halves analysis. This covers til All-Might collapses in the rain.)
Now that Lady Nagant has given up the home base of AFO, or at the very least the dropoff point where the assassins would bring a defeated Deku, the heroes have gathered a few more main team members to join their ranks. We got hints Edgeshot was helping as he interrogated people in the Liberation and Garaki but this is the confirmation. Kamui Woods and Mount Lady have jumped into this crew too. With the majority of the remaining top pros…that aren’t trashed from war injuries that is, and Deku. They just walk right into the CRC manor. (The not KKK) Dabi was hanging out here in the Touya backstory episode with the fireplace burning with his blue flames. But AFO wasn’t going to stick around longer than a night here and took the crew with him. Lady Nagant is simply far too high of a level to wait that long. She has him in 24 hours of a rainy day, or she doesn’t.
And when she didn’t contact, he knew Deku got her. And he was ALL too happy to boast about that for a recording on his new cave throne. Ready to boast that the idea of villains is wrong and people just shove out the desperate regardless of the type of government. Which does leave one main caveat being himself. He lives the high life just stringing everyone and everything he can find along the way. This is his game. You’re a piece on the board or a resource he assimilates. He is the embodiment of selfishness. He talked about how he hated All-Might for taking everything from him, his comrades his abilities, and All-Might threw a FIT that people were literally nothing but disposable to him. Regardless of loyalty, class, circumstance, he wants to take away EVERYTHING they have. And none he wants to take away MORE from then Deku. And the 1st thing he does to strip security from him? Reinforce the IMMENSE pressure on his back All-Might announced in season 3 and instead of showing him what he has to live up to, he shows him what he’s in for. (Also methinks that he’s not done with All-Might. Guy is so obsessed with him he had a body sculpted JUST to take people away from that security he once provided. And he’s still taking All-Might’s lines 1st and foremost) And brings the entire building down on them.
Bit of an odd transition to all the heroes NOT OFA just chilling after that encounter. I wanted to see their reactions or see them escape. We all know they CAN, and clearly they did since no one was injured in that totally harmless 5 story forest fire. But now with the expanded hero crew available, they need to clear the air of their questions and concerns as Deku BREAKS himself to hurdle forward. They talk about Lady Nagant if she has more info available because they want to rely on LITERALLY anything else if they can. But the more they see the war between AFO and OFA, they know it’s literally impossible to not include Deku as alarming as they all see it. And they also see just how much AFO has Deku trapped on the path HE WANTS HIM on. They can’t recruit with the public backlash getting worse as the pressures on heroes increases. And it’s breaking trusted well known heroes INCLUDING the 1st hero we ever see being Death Arms. He was no vanity driven hero. And it’s not that he lacked ability to keep up or was just an extra face. We’ve seen how realistic he was about the job and knew the sad downsides AND how to cope with them. He was always frustrated when he couldn’t help. He did LITERALLY nothing wrong. He didn’t miss a SINGLE role in the war he had, teaching the kids (specifically Jiro in the internship), or being just regularly active. But the pressure increased the more people left HIM hanging to do more and HE got the backlash off the backs of others failures. And finally…he couldn’t take it. He wanted to help SO bad, but got bit rather than being praised. He would 1000% be in this OFA crew if this didn’t happen. And with people like HIM giving up, letting them into this operation is a massive risk when you need the public backlash away from Deku at all costs with the size and scope. Which Mount Lady is confused WITH such a weapon he can use, why isn’t AFO using it on Deku NOW? And yeah, isolating Deku from everyone at such a terrifying time would be nothing but counter-intuitive. (And Deku is in 0 SHAPE to endure something like that. He’s already in a terrible situation.)
Endeavor can’t really help his family like they wanted to help him and vice versa like this. It’s all they can do to keep Deku alive and effective. And demanding Endeavor should be helping his family while they quietly wait for the 2 walking apocalypses to be found or to show themselves at LITERALLY ANY SECOND is…also a life decision that is out of reach in this situation. And for good measure to remind us of that. The moment silence falls over the room, they are snapped back into the case. Just like Deku CLEARLY snapped the spine of the 2nd hired gun. BACKS DON’T BEND THAT WAY. We learned that from Deku’s butt print crater injury when All-Might made his back sound like an empty water bottle and we learned in that fight you do NOT need much power to do that with OFA if they don’t have the defense and especially with Deku at the level he’s at. I’m going to take a guess this guy took a Muscular approach to being a villain and Deku was NOT having it. Either way I don’t know what makes Hawks sound more alarmed. That he got attacked by the 2nd assassin…or that he won instantly. And the fact he’s taking concern with the latter and sounds sad about it, they all know Deku is “starting” to break. (I don’t think they understand when this actually started which was pretty much the moment he went rogue and left the class behind)
And what happens next is both one of the saddest scenes to watch and also what is quite frankly also one of the most satisfying. Now that Deku has really started slipping into a personally inescapable headspace…All-Might just looks at his handiwork and how he notes the 2nd hired gun “Had nothing useful to share, and he might explode. So be careful.” And that is literally ALL he says before trying to run off again. That is…actually REALLY cold and apathetic. All-Might wants him to rest and eat…but Deku shuts him down. He doesn’t want All-Might near him anymore. The MOMENT All-Might protests Deku shuts him down again and brings up he has OFA’s 100% with no backlash so what concern is there? Well for starters, YOU’RE LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH, EITHER TO ALL-MIGHT AND/OR YOURSELF. Literally all the wielders said you DON’T have the entirety of OFA, regardless of Fa Jin cooperation, and I tend not to take the words of someone in a catastrophic emotional headspace seriously when they are doing everything possible to push people away. This is the ONLY LINE in the show that supports that Deku is at Prime All-Might level now, and he’s surrounded by people that clearly think the opposite and want to intervene but can’t purely from the mission standpoint, INCLUDING the people IN HIS HEAD. And he admits JUST THAT not minutes later that he hasn’t unlocked or mastered everything.
And the more All-Might tries to stop him trying to get him to rest, the less All-Might can get his voice to work to force out his protest. Sir Nighteye shouted at him for doing the EXACT SAME THING. And All-Might’s response was “For the sake of the world, I need to show them I am still here.” And he shut down every single cry Nighteye made to stop him and he was literally PLEADING IN AGONY. All-Might would literally sleep mid flight scene to scene in his more active days. He doesn’t have those dark eyes for no reason. He abused his own body and is now watching Deku fall to the same fate. He had Deku laying in front of him SEVERAL TIMES in a pile of broken bones, and he didn’t properly check on him and in fact encouraged him to do more. He found him in a CRATER Bakugo had FRESHLY PRESSED HIM IN and he checked only on Bakugo who was crying and NEVER ASKED IF DEKU WAS OK. He PUNCHED DEKU IN THE FACE for following his bad advice and gaslit him he ever made the bad advice in the 1st place. He didn’t check on Deku about Nighteye’s funeral or his fate and how he was handling it or talk to Deku about his conversation of giving Mirio OFA at a critical moment. He didn’t check on Deku after the Blackwhip incident despite him moving to stop it that day. Stacked with the many other people doing the EXACT SAME THING when they were in a position to check on him, and now at THE MOST CRITICAL MOMENT TO INTERVENE, Deku would likely not even believe him if he tried to check on him as ALL HE’S DONE is tank crisis after crisis and he just kept to himself about the EXCRUCIATING PAIN he’s had to endure. And as HEARTBREAKING as it is to see All-Might fall into the mud and breaking down he can’t protect his son, I just sat there thinking about him and ALL the heroes in the OFA crew and saying to myself “Interfering where you don’t necessarily have to is the essence of being a hero.” And watching NO ONE interfere as Deku quite frankly barrels down a road of self implosion. Congratulations All-Might. You made the new Symbol of Peace. And it appears there’s an audience to All-Might’s new lowest fall from grace. The Hero Killer Stain. (Make no mistake I WEEP watching this, but I also know All-Might TRULY brought this on himself)
With so many heroes stepping out of the ring, it really feels special to see Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady still around, and in the heroes's main operation no less. Considering they were among the first Pros and characters we were introduced to in the pilot episode, seeing them step up during the show's darkest hours feels incredibly satisfying. This goes double for Mt. Lady; she's always been one of my favorite characters, and her development is downright underrated.
@@HaydrogenBomb I LOVE Mount Lady’s development from a vain and image heavy hero becoming a serious hero operative and her growing care for all the kids in Class A from literally the MOMENT she teaches them in the public performing class. (And she does on the down low really care about Mineta which in of itself is a feat of character to see he DOES care but definitely has character flaws he has to get over/has gotten over since there’s no more Mineta incidents) She’s a character I have a LOT of praise for. Kamui doesn’t have an arc per se but he is always an enjoyable character to watch.
It's a small detail but it's interesting to see Deku unintentionally using the same technique all for one used with shigaraki's broken body. AFO used Rivet Stab coming directly from Shigaraki's spine to prop him up in their last battle and now Deku is using blackwhip to do something similar.
All might saying “you don’t look back at me for approval anymore” hurts every time

30:11 I think resentment is the wrong feeling to use here. The only person Izuku genuinely shows any form of resentment towards is All for One, because he’s realizing the extent he’s willing to hurt and use people for his personal goals. I think Izuku is just finally realizing and internalizing just how absolutely stressful and terrifying being the symbol of peace is. Fear can manifest as aggression, we’ve seen it before with many other characters on the show. Izuku believes he is solely responsible for ensuring everyone else’s safety (like All Might), and he is so consumed by his fear of being responsible for the loss of anyone, especially his loved ones, that he’s putting aside the people around him’s willingness to help in order to shoulder the entire burden alone. What he said to All Might was basically “I finally reached your power level, I can emulate you perfectly. Why are you still worried about me? why don’t you trust me to keep you safe?”, without considering that, people just care about him and want him to be safe and okay, regardless of how overwhelmingly powerful he is (Like how All Might rejected Nighteye’s concern, and practically kept any person who cares about him at arm’s length). Izuku is speedrunning All Might’s beginning as a hero, and All Might (now seeing it from an outside pov) is finally understanding how worried his loved ones have been for him. Fortunately, unlike All Might, Izuku’s friends and classmates have all been inspired like he has to pursue genuine heroism, and thus, they can stand beside him as equals rather than more people to be kept safe, which in turn can allow Izuku to lean on them more and not try to keep carrying the entire world like All Might had to.

I have to say for Deku he really is dealing with this burden as a bit too far just like with all might; and all for one is just messing with him with his brilliance of being one step ahead and keeping him and shigaraki away from the distance from Deku so that he could keep finding them until he’s all out of power and doesn’t have much of the strength to do anything which is kinda like the game of tag and little of hide and seek

Something that I find really stupid and irritating is that some people claim 1-A going after Deku in order him back is a mistake which is just flat out wrong he's wearing himself down to the bone he's exhausted he's been battered and bruised yet is still pushing himself while injured if they didn't go after him when they did he would've been killed either by an Assassin by AFO or by Shigaraki
And the thing is if Deku was actually taking care of himself (eating, sleeping, stuff like that) class 1A probably would be okay with it. They even said that they initally were only going to fight with him in the streets, it was the principal who told them to bring him back.
