  • A brat child can wreak chaos for a house cleaner. If your clients are the parents of a brat child, you need to have a talk about the behavior.
We Ask a House Cleaner for cleaning advice for dealing with a destructive, violent, volatile brat child. If they are yelling expletives and you see a white flash, you may be in danger. Remember, they are just words.
Angela Brown, The House Cleaning Guru, says a maid reacting without a plan will lose control. The priority for house cleaning training and maid service training is to educate your staff.

This is helpful in life👍 I have a child phobia, unfortunately. I was the oldest, and had to take care of my very crazy brothers. Once I found out I didn't have to have kids, I can't express how relieved I was! I'm literally scared of dealing with any kids, so having a little advice is so helpful 💖

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Not everybody who can have kids should. Some people are not cut out to be parents, and that's admirable that you know that.
That said, being the oldest and taking care of kids your entire youth - is emotionally and physically challenging. You have far more skills than you know and your crazy brothers are lucky to have you. I'm sending you a big virtual hug. 🤗🤗🤗

Great advice! I wouldn't stay in a place where I was being abused either even if its just verbal. There are too many other clients who would love and appreciate someone coming to clean house for them.

It is so helpful to have boundaries and know when enough is enough. I've been in some helplessly impossible situations myself and it really makes my head spin trying to figure out how I'm going to handle it.

Military school for the kid. The Naval Academy for school age children is great! I put my daughter in modeling school she was a straight "A" student but needed focus and discipline. Worked great found out she was afraid to do the runway. She was a well disciplined (had to sit or stand still for photos). Learned the proper way to put on make up (no tattoos no weird piercings). Learned fashion design (how to tastefully dress). Well mannered (tea lunches). Posed, self confident (Runway training with video replay). See did not pursue modeling. She went to Culinary School and became a Chef.

Thank you for bringing this subject up. I got a child like that and I will follow your advice, of leaving the client, I feel sorry about the parents and they were my first clients, but I have to move on, I have a waiting list of clients, and the spot is already taken, so I will not lose money. I would like to help them but as you say it is not good to get involved in that kind of drama.

How about a brat spouse? I and my wife have encountered that. We had a client whose husband would purposely mess up areas we just cleaned. I guess he did not want the service and she did. Well, we walked out on the job in the middle of it. We told her why got paid and left. This life is way to short to deal with that. If I or my wife are not comfortable with who we work for we find a replacement. I will not fight with them or become a guidance counselor or any of that it just means it's time to move on.

YES! to the flight attendant's comment. I really respect the time they put in on their feet, the very skinny aisles they have to walk through while tripping over arms and legs, and the endless stream of silly requests. My hat is off to them. 🙏

They are helping people get from point a to point b. They have to deal with terrorism stuff, medical emergencies, watch for drug and human trafficking, help kids flying alone, break up passenger fights and deal with in travelers who were told to turn off their phone , wear a mask , or stop groping staff and are throwing a fit and have duct taped to their chair now It’s ridiculous

i have been cleaning for a nice family 2 hours per week for 3 months. the 12 year old daughter started spraying hairspray or deodorant all over her bathroom mirror which i had to clean off with steel wool. my company doesn't allow abrasives or bleach but i had no other way of cleaning it off every week. not wanting to damage the mirror i decided to not clean the affected area.
The latest list included a whole general clean. She wanted doors/ walls cleaned and washing folded on top of the general clean on that day which the 2 hours was definitely not enough time for.
I wrote them a note about how i will have to start cleaning around the mirror artwork as i only had 2 hours and it takes too much time to try and scrub off the mark the daughter made and will have to work on the doors and walls weekly then they cancelled me the next day! the reason was i didn't clean the mirror!
Ive never had someone cancel me before.
Should i feel bad or am i worried for no reason?

@@AskAngelaBrown no now a days if we disciple our child except for time out in a chair it's called child abuse. Also children must be supervised by an adult until the age of 18 at least in California. Are you sure they aren't also using you to babysit? That happened to me twice. Quit now before you get fired or land in jail. Keep up the great work!

Sometimes that happens to me as well when watching a TH-cam video. There is a lock in the top of the URL bar. If you click on it, choose the option "cookies" and then hover over it and remove all cookies. It takes a second to clear them all out - sometimes you have to click multiple times. That will reset the channel and then everything loads properly. I'm sorry for the trouble. I don't know what causes it.
