Incredible and great questions! I'd rather have this than the edited for broadcast version any day. I was just getting into the Kinks at this time. This really is a different Ray than we're used to seeing.
Bravo, I also saw them on this tour in southern california and this is amazing footage. You should have more hits. Ive seen nearly every kinks vid and this is one of the best. Great closeups of all the mates
Ray Davies interview and Kinks soundcheck- Denver 9-9-81 Part 2 Uploaded on 16 Mar 2010 Ray Davies of The Kinks was interviewed by my friend who was a producer at a local TV affiliate on 9/9/81 in Denver, CO at McNichols Arena. This is Part 2- mostly soundcheck. I messed up my last question- heck- we were both nervous- but I meant to say that many bands had pinched off The Kinks! They were the most copied and underrated band ever! After the interview the soundcheck begins. The photog gets on stage and gets some intimate close-ups of the band. During Lola, the song goes until the audience sing-along bit, at which time I couldn't resist singing! 'Twas a great little moment in my life and it's on tape! I was working for Pickwick Records at the time- hence the shirt and tie. ;-] As we were leaving I told Ray, "I'll see YOU tonight but I'll just be A Face In the Crowd." Bless Ray and The Kinks. An absolute treasure for almost 50 years! Category Music Licence Standard TH-cam Licence MERRY CHRISTMAS DEC 22,2014
Tom----Nervous or not, nice job by you and your buddy. A completely unfair question to you since you saw the byplay and so forth though it was nearly 20 years, your gut feeling, ago will they reunite?
Tom, that's crazy... I thought they did the whole tour together. So I'll bet that rascal Ray was chatting up Chrissy and mentioned giving the Ptndrs props in "an interview" earlier. Then called her onstage for a song, and the rest is history. At least that's what I would have done... Way to go Ray!
Thank You for the music The Kinks have given us.
Greatest band in music history.
Thank you Thank you! God Save the Kinks

Super. From the super band that are the best ever far from the others.
I was at that show with The Pretenders opening. I'm so glad I found this interview. Great questions!
I as searching for a different Ray Davies interview and I came across this for the first time! Just wonderful, thanks for posting!

I always like when the camera zooms in on Mick. Amazing drummer. Should be ranked alongside Charlie and Ringo.
Yep, he's just as good as those two but sadly overlooked.

Great job, thanks for sharing. I was at the show that night. It was great to see the energy between Ray & Chrissy, she joined them onstage for a song.
that big room reverb sounds great, exciting.
It's a MUST SEE !! You did a really great job !!
Would be more than perfect if there was a little bit more to see of Dave. (IMO)
