Awsome video I went to the Grand Hotel n I got lost in it I didnt know how to get to the main lobby area from the shopping place n I didnt know you could walk the hall in the hotel. I'll have to try that sometime when I go back. Thanks for sharing the video

As far as the movie goes with Esther Williams, it was This Time for Keeps. And yes, the Barbara Bush suite, may she rest in peace. I think we were there the same time as you, we left on the 17th but it was such a rainy week! I can see the overcast in your video. I love the Island and surrounding areas.

When I was there in 1965 on the Grand Hotel property women could only wear a dress and men had to have a tie on. No shorts or short sleeves shirts for men and no pants or shorts for women. If you were riding a bike in shorts around the island there was a place in the back that you could sneak in and get to your room to change before they saw you.

I have stayed here twice. The first time was at the Roosevelt Presidential Suite. It was weird to have goat heads in the hotel room.

Great tour!! I spent my summers here at the Grand Hotel back in the 60's and 70's as a kid roaming around the hotel and island,last time I went was 1983 and Im long due for a visit and stay at the GRand.I still have my old brochures,napkins and matches from the Grand,I remember the afternoon Tea in the Lobby.My dad used to come to the island as a kid in the 1920's his aunt and uncle owned a rug shop in the Chipawa Hotel.Such great memories,thats a great tour of my Favorite GRand Hotel.
