There is definitely a much faster way, it should take 3 minutes on each side to cook. But man, no matter the time, the beauty you get to enjoy is priceless.
It’s always great to hear from you Jesse, no matter what you are chasing or catching , I am 65 and will probably never get to see any of Maine except through the lens of cameras like yours ,,thank you so much for sharing your pictures and videos with us here in North Carolina,,we have brook trout , we have ruffed grouse, we have deer , but we don’t have Maine.
@@MainelyOutDoors Jesse I love your videos please don’t ever stop , I really enjoy the scenery and sunsets , and sunrises are my favorite thing ,, but they don’t taste quite ass good as grouse ha ha ha,,,oh and Jesse if you want to see what North Carolina is like the best you tuber we have is Meredith Bernard at the channel called This Farm Wife,, she Is the best entertainment of the year 2020
Yeah its about 10-12 feet deep in some spots but because its spring fed it stays open in the winter with only a few inches of ice. We hope to re dig it oneday but have to figure out how to save the fish first
@@MainelyOutDoors that would make for a crazy video, it would be cool to save the trout if they are really related to the same trout your grandpa stocked. And yeah Jons pond is tiny and has smallmouth in it already, not sure how well the trout will do
i would to see you do a grouse video...same concept...fun...i loved that you were having so much fun you got distracted from your from your self assigned task....Best from Montana( grouse season still on and the waterfowl hunting is really good right now, part of my work-self employed taks me along rivers at least every other day and the casual beautiful jump shooting is tag filling
@@maritimeus I change what I do based on the season. I'll be ice fishing/ steelhead fishing this winter and focused on fishing again in the spring so it all depends on the time of year. right now a lot of it will be hunting
Yeah, the season was closed in the northern region (in most bodies of water) and you can’t build a fire along the bank unless it’s at a permitted fire ring.
Wish I could show you the pics of the brookies I have been catching the last couple weeks here in Maine and within the Augusta area it’s been nuts better then the hunting great vid as usual. Fantastic color like yours maybe little better
Another great video. Beautiful brookies.

I had a pond stocked with huge rainbow trout in it when I was growing up fresh fish whenever you couldn’t go get the hard ones
Thats awesome! id love to do that one day maybe that could be a future series

You found my secret. I swear by the "woods Special". scene times when they only take that fly.
Great video as always
Ey everybody like the Video, what gotta get to 1000likes!👍
Great video
Any idea how deep your pond is? Looks like a nice little pond. Clean looking. spring fed i assume?

That was a nice Brookie. You are lucky to have that pond on privet land. God Bless
Keep living the dream . Thanks for taking us along.
no O fence , can you get us some rabbit hunt'in , deer , moose , trapping furs, duck hunting ??
Nice fly selection.
Should show jon b hows its done with the stocked pond
I saw that video I really like it but I hope that water is spring fed or those fish won’t make the summer
@@MainelyOutDoors it’s spring fed, it’s had the same amount of water in it all summer
@@livebait9666 Oh good he should have a nice pond in a few years then! Especially if he makes it deeper. That's what we are planing to do to ours

I usually cut the head off before the frying pan
There’s some good meat in there though
So cool, the fact that you tied the fly adds an aspect to the harvest.
What a crazy Private pond! Awesome video!
Those are some nice looking little brookies in ther e
Native brookies, 6 to 8" is my favorite. And you're right, the tails are the best part. Enjoyed the video, thank you.
Mine too!

Why is that illegal anywhere else in Maine? I saw you harvest a Brook trout in another video. I’m catch and release. Just curious.
I was the time of year. Most rivers shut down in Maine at that point
Beautiful pond. What an amazing place!
Make more duck hunting videos and just hunting in general but defenitly would love to see lots of duck hunting
Next two or three videos will be hunting I’m pretty sure
I disagree...I come here for the fishing. Just sayin.

@@maritimeus Thanks!
Can you give a tour of your car?
Yup it’s already up on the channel just go to most viewed videos and it should be on there
Why can’t you do that legally in Maine like u said in the beginning??
Just the time of year most rivers and lakes are closed to the taking fish. Plus you can’t just build a fire out side of a campsite with a pit.
@@MainelyOutDoors ok thank you !
Man that brookie was almost too pretty to eat.
I enjoy this channel a lot but those fish are just to damn cool looking to eat
I can smell that bro okie from here... yum!
Hey man! Just wondering, what is illegal about what you're doing?
Or, to clarify, what would be illegal if you were to do it anywhere else in Maine?
@@Sugondeese I suspect the season on trout was closed but not for private ponds.
