    11:25 in aviation, we call them "spoilers" to deflect the wind up high of course to increase drag to slow the plane down for the descend. spoilers are armed before the pilots turn off the autopilot to land the plane but A320's are also equipped with APPR or auto approach only if ILS approach is visible. the spoilers are just not about wind deflection. its also helps the L&R Ailerons to bank the plane to which ever where the 2 pilots turn the heading into. like turn left heading two-niner-zero (290), etc...also 11:39 FYI it is Philippine Airlines.

      +Joed Barrientos According to a source,
      "When in flight, the handle is pulled straight back and the panels are deployable up to 30 degrees. This is the "speed brake" which allows a steeper descent at the same speed.
      When landing (prior to), the handle is pulled up to the "armed" position and upon wheel spin-up at touchdown, the "spoilers" (as in spoiling lift) deploy to a full 60 degrees."
      At 11:39, Philippine Airlines?

      +FlyCruise Singapore yes. True but you didn't mention that the spoilers help the plane turn or bank to the left and right as the ailerons move up in each side of the wing at landing speeds of 150 knots. It won't move at high speeds because the airplane is manuvering on a very thin air on a cruising alt or Flight Level. Since on final, the air is thick and hard for the plane to turn so the spoilers act like the 2nd aileron while the Boeings 767, 772, 773, 77W, 788, 789 has flaperons so no neet for the spoilers to act as secondary ailerons. :)

      +FlyCruise Singapore yes. At 11:39 is correct. :)

      +FlyCruise Singapore also aircrafts from Airbus do that because of the wings while the Boeing 737's doesn't need to raise their spoilers when incoming for a landing but still depends what the speed of the wind is.

      Joed Barrientos That's correct, it's pretty amazing how important how this small part of the plane is actually so vital to the plane's movements.

    it looked like it landed in some highway and not in a airpot

    • @FlyingAsia
      @FlyingAsia  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same thought as you! There were so many houses surrounding the airport, it just doesn't feel like a proper airport.

    Do you have to pay for your baggage? I look at their website and it's a bit confusing for me. There are fare with meals and fare without.

    • @FlyingAsia
      @FlyingAsia  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lee, Tigerair is a low cost carrier which means you only pay for the extra services you require. Hand carry baggage of 7kg is complimentary for every passenger, you have to pay extra if it exceeds. On a standard fare you will not be served a meal. Meals are add ons, the airline might be selling the ticket with the meal as a package and it might be cheaper if you pre order online as compared to when you purchase on board. Hope that helps!

    So u have to buy food there???

    • @FlyingAsia
      @FlyingAsia  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      As Tigerair is a LCC, food and beverage have to be purchased for a fee.

  • @phungngoccham7238

    So...what do u think about the food ?

    • @FlyingAsia
      @FlyingAsia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Phùng Ngọc Châm Personally I prefer AirAsia to Tigerair but Tigerair is still a good LCC IMO. I did not order food onboard so no comments about that =) Thank you for watching!

    • @jeri7320
      @jeri7320 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok :) i thought winglets were first from Boeing aircrafts and Sharklets were from Airbus. thanks for the info anyway :)

    • @FlyingAsia
      @FlyingAsia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jeri andrade Yes you are correct =) it's just the term they use but I believe the function is similar. I prefer the sharklets aesthetically though!

      +FlyCruise Singapore yeah sure. It's like you don't have anything to do other than watching the clouds. BTW, I'm from the Philippines and I never been to Aklan(Boracay). How weird? Anyways nice video👍👊👌

    • @FlyingAsia
      @FlyingAsia  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ryan Robert Ventolero Haha but cloud watching was fun but a little too long IMO 😂. The Philippines is huge so no surprise that you haven't visited but you should go visit Boracay, it's beautiful! I am glad you enjoyed my video Ryan =)
