The yugioh banlist will be terrible, uneffective and will not change or fix the game in any meaningful ways. we expect a greedy scummy company like konami to change and they never will so the only option is for us to change, and GO OUR OWN WAY!

I love the floodgate hits (including droll) but it doesn’t make sense to do that and then immediately unban Colossus. If he wasn’t relatively generic, fair enough but he is and it creates the same maxx c issue you explained with droll ban.
You’re right, we did this to just try some stuff out, the three cards I’m nervous about are collosus, snow and master plan.These cards I’m not pushing hard for, they were a coin flip essentially.

I have ptsd just from watching him cook up the list. That's not what the game should be about and any card that allows such insanity must be thrown into the void from the based deck series. Of course this can be addressed with a Transverser or a Machu Mech hit, but I still think warriors get a little too much to cook with :p
Still, a very fine list that I definitely wouldn't mind experimenting with :)

I’m always more inclined to hit the actual ftk cards than cards that do so much other cool stuff and coincidentally enable an ftk. Machu mech and other cards that inflict massive burn shouldn’t exist and I’m gonna address them in the next list.

I'd love to see a follow up of this video after you guys and the community get some time to test out this format a bit! From a glance, I think at bare minimum it would be way more interesting than the current format, but that's a low bar.

I wish the card had some limitations on what it could throw to your opponent's board so we could see people doing cool shit with it like triggering a despian tragedy from their opponent's field during their turn by fusing it off with albaz, but oh well.
Instead we get jowgen and puppet because the format encourages degeneracy 😔
Even as a degenerate Shaddoll player, I like the direction here. Nuking all floodgates and game breakers is satisfying. Any plans to run this as a format for online play? I'm sure if you got a Discord going people would want to try it out.

I hope Konami creates an alternative format with a Good ban list like this. We don't need to remove the current format and change it to a better and more balanced one. Because I believe some people enjoy the format where you can just auto-win after winning the coin toss, even if the decks are very expensive. That person becomes really happy and feels more skillful after they beat their opponent with unfair cards, this will be a great motivation to spend more money in the next format. And because those decks are very expensive, Konami loves to keep them in the game.

At least we need 2 or 3 different formats for alternative places to play the game. Anyway, please remove Colossus. I know the newest decks usually have something to cheat this, but still, there are a lot of older decks that cannot play without adding cards directly from deck to hand.
Same bro 👏🏻 & I agree, keep the modern format but also have a format called “non generic format” where we just hit the broken generic stuff and allow for like 30-40 decks to win.

@@TheDuelingBeard Your banlist reminds me of Legend Anthology Master Duel. But this event sometimes randomly hit non-generic monsters like my favorite Evil Eye Serzziel. The craziest thing I found in this format, is maybe only the Mayakashi mill. I think Mayakashi FTK is still possible in your banlist. I don't know how consistent the Mayakashi Mill FTK, is because I never play with this deck. But, it is very unfun if someone do this combo.

Ahhh yea that. Hand traps are still prevalent so I’m not sure how often they can go off. But good stuff, I forgot about that deck
Interesting video tho imo its a bit overkill personally. Im a fan of most generic and floodgate hits tho gigantic spright might be a bit much as spright is not the best strategy ever.
I really liked the place format was in before the new year banlist and think that with a few less generic engates and without shifter it woupd have been a perfect format. I kinda am unsure about the floodgate hits like statues because while we dont want another floowandereeze situation, a lot of floodgates like the earth barrier statue made for some really interesting anti meta decks in the past.
Personally what i would do is just revert the last banlist, remove generic negates, weaken the snake eye engine a bit, hitting requiem is a good idea and also ban shifter/dweller/maybe vanitys cards and then make cards that play around power creep and are on a similar power level to the place meta was in december instead of trying to power creep them.

I'm with your list but I think winda is fine and if you put I:P on 0 there is no need for S:P to be on zero I mean it's a good board breaker that's what we need. 🤔
That’s fair, it was our last decision. I fought against it being hit but it went against the philosophy of our banlist which was “stop degeneracy” and her being a floodgate did her in.
And we went ham and hit IP and SP but it might be worthwhile to bring one back on the next list. Another ban list philosophy was to be harsh on links so we hit both to be safe
This list is nearly perfect. Id also add Synchro Zone to be banned as well since it's effectively just Mystic Mine at all times. Besides that this looks good. Make yugioh skillful not degenerate bullshit.

A cool idea! I think the gigantic Spright ban is unwarranted because the 2 lock makes it inherently non generic, especially since the best 2s would be banned (Elf, I:P, and S:P). Overall a cool impactful list. (Btw the FK stands for Free Kitkallos!)
