Ban Apo, it holds back so much card design space
One thousand percent! If nothing just ban that disgusting card and flamberge and we’re good
Finally someone talking about Flamberge... im sick about people asking consistency hits or hitting OSS. This bs wont make anything when Fiendsmith comes out. Banning Flamberge is the only reasonable hit
Glad there’s people that see this problem, card is the most pushed card in the archetype and it’s by far.. it literally reads like exodia 🤯
Hit I:P too
I remember when frickin Unchained was being gassed up to the point where people were running goddamn Marionette Mite for a brief spell. And the biggest complaint from hyper competitive players was that tournaments were *too* diverse. That feels like an eternity ago.
I loved that format, only decks that were gross were infernoble and mannadium but they weren’t that represented, the top decks were fun and had interesting interactions between each other and technically 20-30 decks could top. I haven’t loved the game in the least bit since Phantom nightmare
I remember talking with a friend about what to hit in Snake Eyes where he was thinking it might be OSS or Snake Eye Ash and just told him to hit Flamberge. It represents 4 cards on its own: 1 in itself, another in whatever it puts in the Spell/Trap zone, and 2 from grave. The deck tends to have the same endboards every time. I love Yubel because even though the "optimal" way has Apollousa, Yubel has so many cool cards and interactions without it. Tenpai looks bad on the surface, but in testing it out myself, it's really cool because it uses the Extra Deck as a TOOLBOX outside of its IN ARCHETYPE boss monsters. The parts of the format that AREN'T Snake Eyes or Stun are so interesting and unique with how they play and interact with each other. Every non Snake Eye Fire Deck has unique/cool playstyles.
Exactly, and we can’t explore them because this obnoxious AI designed deck is too good lol
I say ban Poplar. Snake-Eyes didnt become Tier 0 until that card came into the picture. Also ban Santifire Dragon to stop the Gimmik Puppet lock.
Sanctifire feels like a design space that should exist. Cards like Nightmare should be errata'd to only lock if summoned under their owner's control.
Poplar ban would work but the reason I don’t see them doing it is because he ties the archetype together, without poplar the deck is unplayable, without flamberge the deck is still really strong but not unfair
Also I love sanctifire, he is overall a fair card, it’s the random cards that lock you into some floodgate effect that are the orobkem
Apo is a starter killer (up to 3 dead starters if you can even open one in your starting hand).
Savage and Baronne back her up for any potential board wipes, so effin tired of that board!!
Edit: Yes, I play Master Duel. Hence why I mentioned Savage and Baronne
Exactly! Apo is essentially “did you open up the out?” No? Cool you lose. Baronne and savage help make that board unplayable
Heres how you hit the deck without killing it. This is what I actually predict will happen:
Bans:
Temple + oak. (Temple means pure snake eye can’t play around nib that easily and oak hurts the grind a bit and makes the combos less resilient to handtraps)
Limits:
Flamberge (it’s a Konami hit but lots do play 2 flamberge, and with temple gone people won’t play se diabellstar + flamberge so it does actually hurt)
Wanted
Fenrir
Semi Limits:
Bonfire
What this banlist effectively does is make the deck more manageable to beat, it removes pure and even the fiendsmith version isn’t super good because they all lose to nib, so fire king will be the main version forward which still struggles a bit against nib but is also waaaay more skillful/fun to play against and play because it doesn’t just pump out negates all the time.
Interesting take, haven’t heard this take before. I’m interested to see what they do. My take comes from the logic of how they hit kashtira, I thought the only real problem was ariseheart, and so I just called for that ban and boom they did it, they could have hit the deck in other ways but they decided to just do one ban and not a bunch of other hits. But if they want to hit a bunch of cards, I could see it going the way you say
I think they’ll hit Sanctifire simply because of all the branded reprints in terminal. It’s similar to the R-ACE reprints before they limited air lifter
You could be right and I’m fine with it even though I main branded, I just think he isn’t the problem, it’s those dumb cards from a decade ago with crappy text that had no future proof for them. Like bro gimmick puppet nightmare isn’t even played in gimmick puppets, just ban the card and ido too, these cards will come up in the future because I doubt branded is the last deck that summons to your opponents board
@@TheDuelingBeard nah Sanctifier is the problem card compared to Ido, Nightmare, etc. being able to freely give your opponent a monster each turn and halt them from special summoning is a dumb mechanic, especially since Branded is already a solid deck.
My personal take:
-Ban original sinful spoils
-Ban Apollousa
-Ban I:P
-Ban Beatrice
-Ban Sanctifire
-Ban Shifter (I know, it's not happening)
-Limit Skill Drain
-Limit Prosperity
Come on Konami it's not that hard
I’d be good with this, would be an excellent banlist
God bless brother that's a nice take. I'm glad I just play yugioh casually with my son and a friend. I've got no interest in the meta 😂
God bless! That’s the most mentally healthy way to do it, unfortunately for me I want to go to tourneys once in a while and Konami really is making that impossible
Honestly, I like pile decks when they actually use the archetypes in theme ways to win the game. Earth Machine is my favorite modern yugioh deck for that reason. When it's something like Based where it's just "Good Stuff".deck it's boring, but when it's archetypes actually synergizing together to make a greater whole? I think it's neat!
I’ll agree with this to a point, I don’t mind earth machine but I despise plant link and dragon link
Omni negates should be confined to hard to bring out monsters, like main deck bosses that must be special summoned by tributing one specific in-archetype monster. Otherwise, leave them on counter traps.
Exactly, otherwise counter traps are useless as they sort of are now
Banlist time is one of the most fun events in Yu-Gi-Oh even though I play outside of tournaments to have more fun am I weird for still being so eager for banlists lol
Same, banlists are some of the single most fun moments in the Yugioh game for the average person lol
FREE SPYRAL MASTER PLAN
Plz Konami 😫
Free Chaos Ruler
I draw SP Little Knight from a booster pack in master duel when you mentioned SP Little Knight.
Good luck charm right here 😂
@@TheDuelingBeard
The problem is that I don't have a deck that works well with link 😅🤣. Except for my crusadia which I can't use in ranked😁.
Flamberge and all Apollousa are the best bans look at master duel snake eye ash and wanted are at one with fire king still best deck
There you go and if they merely hit snake eyes consistency then I think fire king just replaces them in the tcg. This is easily the worst format in Yugioh in years, you can’t even play master duel to avoid it…
My opinion, as impartial as possible.
Banned:
Masquerena or Apollousa
Limited:
Fenrir
Branded Fusion
Skill Drain
Maybe something from other semi-competitive decks, everything else is irrelevant.
Fair enough, I think direct snake eyes stuff has to be addressed too. Like ash or OSS or flamberge. Something
@@TheDuelingBeard Ash could be hit because it was just reprinted in the OTS Pack.
How is a monster negate less fair than an Omni with the same amount of negates?
Which one are you talking about?
Ones Apo, what’s the Omni with same amount of negates?
Unpopular opinion but I'm tired of building decks that play around Nibiru. Not that its hard or that I can't do it, because I tend to combo around it pretty well. The issue is that my boards always end up looking funcky and I'd rather go a different route bur trying to make your monster negate by summon 5 limits you in a way and makes it unfun. Just my opinion
So I agree to a certain extent, nib is fair because the game is super unfair, if the game was reasonable we wouldn’t even need nib but because dumb*** decks exist, nib is that necessary evil. I would argue nib in a way wrecks deck building and deck design on konamis end since they have to have ways to play around it
Skill drain should be banned 😔 it's for people without skill 👿
😂 their skill was drained so they want to drain everyone else’s. Some skill vampires
Hi I'm having trouble dealing with Skill drain, do you have any good tips on dealing with it. There are cards that can activate their effects in the grave through which you can bypass Skill drain. But I have no idea of any deck based on it.
The worst thing I've seen is my opponent having both Skill drain and Dimensional Fissure at the same time😅.
i think if apo gets banned as a guy that plays blackwing/tri i'd move into that sp/ip you talked about cause my end boards keep getting banned lol but tbh i hate banish/pop effects more then the negates cause most decks are not made to have mutpal cards shot as soon as they pop up, i dont know just me maybe
I think it depends on the deck for sure. Tri brigade builds love apo, she’s almost more the boss than shuraig lol I just don’t like negates because they invalidate your effects, removal is overall healthy and requires matchup knowledge to be good
@@TheDuelingBeard yeah my end board at one point was apo, borreload and barrone and a cyber dragon since black feather whirlwind could pretty go into a 8 and a 10 and cyber from the normal plays disgusting stuff. Since they've been banned the dark lv 8 in to a 10 I just don't like the end boards I've made so I've been trying different cards and going I hate all of you
If appo is banned than nib needs banning too. Without appo and baronne both not existing a good chunk of decks just auto lose to nib even if they’re not doing anything unfair.
So nib with no apo or baronne is interesting, I like it because it makes them try to think outside of the box to deal with nib, something like melodious deals with nib in such a cool way, not a stupid negate or some braindead play but you remove the material from the field and they come back. I think nib should exist as a check in the game and the decks that are at the top should have a skilled way of dealing with it, like unchained and wave king. There’s interesting ways to deal with nib and unfortunately Konami defaults to trash negates which are braindead. Make baronne, apo or toad before summon 5 wow, such skill
@@TheDuelingBeard I don’t think it’s healthy for the majority of tier 2 or lower decks. They already have trouble getting around it. Baronne and appo was a safety pin that a lot of those decks could use otherwise they automatically lose. Decks like melodious where given specific support to play around nib a lot of other decks aren’t given that treatment. Nib will become just as bad as apo in how easy it shuts down turns if no deck but the very very best, or corner cases like melodious can play around it. So nib being in the game stops being a healthy thing if there is no way to counter play it for 90% of decks and purely becomes bad. Hell it’s always been unhealthy cuz it doesn’t do anything but force people to play certain cards which isn’t good.
Look the reality is this was the fate of this game once it became comp dominated and have effectively banished casuals from anything other than the kitchen top the decks would evolve to be hyper efficient consistent and fucking boring on the only axis of play yugioh has due to it's speed comp players have successfully min maxed the last of the fun out of the game
True true. Every game is straight stress packed because if you forget one effect you effectively lose 😂 good thing there’s only a hundred effects/conditions to keep track of every turn
Are you treaf long lost brother?
Could be 😂
Flamberge won't be banned.
Appo sure
Skill drain just ban it with anti spell rivalry gozen tcboo
Fenrir totally unneeded.
Tenpai fieldspell to 1 and it's fine
I get what you’re saying but fenrir hits Kash, kash SE and tenpai since they run fenrir. Tenpai won’t be hit directly yet, but yea appo gotta be. I called ariseheart ban and flamberge has almost same level of impact so I’m feeling its gonna get banned
YEAH OMG GET RID OF THAT FUCKING DRAGON
Literally, I have no idea what they’re waiting for, the deck would still be great without him but it would be fair which is ultimately what we want
Pretty pleas Konami let me play syral already. It’s just link spam
I think spyral is really strong, but it might not have the consistency to compete at the top tables even if they release master plan. At a minimum they should try it at 1 and if spyrals becomes the best then ban it again
i just want my simorgh link back
I think they can bring him back easy, they should trade that most valley infinite loop card to the banlist for simorgh
Sanctifire
Just
Stop
Also Calamity gotta go
Just don't hit Yubel
Bro I agree, but it’s Konami, I’m willing to bet a lot that sanctifire isn’t touched. For some reason Konami refuses to address these pseudo ftks
Just ban every effect, monster. And ban every spelling trap card that'll fix the game
Ban the game, that’s what I’m saying
So we’re basically playing whatever Joey Wheeler was playing in Episode 2 of the show or until Yugi gave him some Spells/Traps.
apo getting hit is a mistake. same way the gamma hit was a mistake. taking out tools is never good.
But if your deck needs apo to be any good then the deck sucks. Gamma is an insta win if it resolves going first as is apo, these are horribly designed cards. Respectfully
the hit the sE is poplar before poplar the feck was ok.
Yea but they never want to hit it like that because they’re Konami, and he ties the archetype together
If you can't beat snake eyes by now it's literally a skill issue...
The issue isn’t beating snake eyes. It’s having a fair fight, anyone on any day can beat snake eyes but if you’re that good and can consistently beat it, why don’t you go win a YCS, it’s 70% of the meta and if you can beat it so easy then you should have no problem doing so
Cry more
That’s what I thought edgelord…
