  • This is how I wire a third brake light to function without flashing when the turn signal is activated. If you would like to support this project, I have created an Amazon Wish List. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated.

I thought about adding a third light on my Model A but just couldn’t do it ...I went with the fuzzy dice :)

Looks good & works as well.
A personal thought; If the 3rd brake light were mounted at the bottom of the window , it would blend more into the lines of the car / window & possibly be less intrusive when you look in your rearview mirror.
    Otherwise , looks great.

Hi Dave, I have to say, I am not a big fan of 3rd. brake lights on hot rods or muscle cars. Except maybe for the ones that are molded in (top dollar hot rods) I just think they look kind of cheap. That being said, I did put led taillights in my 57 Chevy, to try to keep from being rear ended, because the factory tail lights are so dim. So I can see, where 3rd brake lights have their advantages. But just can't see myself adding them to my classic. But the day I get rear ended, my thoughts on that will probably change. Lol. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one

Hi I' wanted to tell you that besides the heater and the body tape that you should use to help get the sound deadening and help insulate the firewall as well for heat. I hope that this helps. Also make some temp plexi glass windows so you can drive your fun machine on test runs

I updated that light on a later video. I moved it to the bottom and only used one strip.

Well not sure if i like it as well, dave... Thing is you can use a different styling for third brake light... Like ones who come separately as a unit and be mounted from inside... Would be much more secure and somehow curves on brake light will match car's curves and add led lighting like you implemented that into ur headlights instead of halogen bulbs ... But the 2 strip braking light isnt really pretty though! Feels way off yet happy u know the right way to do the connections

Great idea Dave, With the little lights on the back every other light helps especially the big one in the back window

Still paranoid about looking into the light ( poltergeist ). One thing I did noticed was the fold over " T " type electrical connections, not good!! Have seen a lot of fires caused by them . They don't make a good connection causing heat also weakens wire when piercing. Ran an industrial equipment shop and speak with experience, had my mechanics remove when they were spotted on machinery and make a proper connection. All in all a great job.

To honest, I'm not in love with those connectors either. There are three different sizes depending on wire gauge, so it's been trial and error to get the best fit.

Do you have snow? Or is it just the lighting? I really didn't think about a 3rd brake light in my Fargo. I guess that is because I don't have a brake light switch yet, or brake lights. Nice job on the 3rd light Dave. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

What's up Dave like your videos not too fond of that front license plate for the third brake light third brake light should be above the lower part of the window anyhow shirt card do it how you like I live in California I haven't had a license plate in the front for 50 years never had a ticket

hahaha, trust me, I'd get a ticket without a front plate in Ontario.
