Great tip thank you. Another trick I use if the surface is level is to surface wash one section then use a separate regular hose to wash away the dirt and dirty water so the sun doesn’t dry the dirty water on the clean surface.
Thanks for the video. Was browsing pressure washers and had no clue about this attachment, I had just braced for breaking up the driveway cleaning into segments.
If you still look at comments, I noticed the surface cleaner link for amazon goes to a product which says it is meant for gasoline pressure washers. I have a 2700 psi Ryobi electric.
You may not have mentioned it, but you are also clever to pull it backwards rather than pushing it in front of you. Your way lifts it and pushing it digs it in.
Thank you, I was doing it wrong and it took me much longer and I had to use more water later to spray all the dirt I had brought up with swirls like you mentioned. Next time I'll use your method!
I've used this sprayer several times now on brick pavers, a wood deck, patio, and a driveway. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX It has performed as expected on all surfaces. For larger areas like the decks and patios, I think I will be looking into a surface cleaner attachment to speed up the job, or at least make it a little easier. Hose and sprayer connections are tool-less, tight, and quick. I used the yellow nozzle on the concrete/brick surfaces, and the pressure was adequate for cleaning those surfaces.I am disappointed that these units are still being shipped with a nozzle storage holder that allows them to vibrate out of the holder way too easily and become lost, but I don't want to knock off a star for that reason. The functional part of the washer works very well, so I would recommend this product.
Excellent! I just put the parts in a zip lock and jam them into the pressure washer hose reel, that way I can see them but they can't get lost in storage.
Standard nozzle would be way quicker on a driveway. The only benefit to this is there isnt over spray getting everywhere if your in a garage doing the floors. For a driveway, standard nozzle is the tool for the job. I would only use this to do the outline where there may be mulch or grass coming meeting up with the concrete.
This has 2 nozzles that rotate in a 12 inch radius so it's in essence 4x faster than a standard nozzle. I did half my driveway with a standard nozzle then got one of these and turned what was an hour job into a 15 minute job for the rest of the driveway
You clearly haven't used one of these babies; these things make removing set on dirt exponentially faster than with the nozzle, using significantly less water - incomparable. I struggled cleaning my concrete patio with the nozzle alone - I could only effectively clean a narrow path at a time. I toiled for over 2 hours out there, wasted a hell of a lot of water (to the point of pooling) and only got half of the dirt removed. I decided to get a proper surface cleaner (Ryobi 18"/4200PSI max) and what a massive difference it made!! The remaining 50-60% of set on dirt on my patio took minutes to remove, instead of hours! OOOOOOOHHH YEAH!!!!
@@AverageJoesRc standard nozzle shoots 12” wide… this takes more effort and does take longer. i tried one of these and it did in fact take longer and did not clean better than a standard nozzle. It’s really only good for inside a garage where you don’t want to soak everything. Emptied my garage out and did my floor with this. My walls where mostly dry, but still did get alittle. Much less water on the walls than a standard nozzle would have done.
Great video. I just ordered a new Roy I pressure washer which is including the surface cleaner. Going to target my driveway and paver patio also. I have no clue what I’ll be doing, but I plan to follow your advice and technique. May. I ask, how slow do you move the surface cleaner without leaving swirl or marks in general?
Pretty slow since it's designed for a gas pressure washer. I don't have a scientific answer for "pretty slow" other than the "wow, this is going to take a while" speed.
Can anybody help me out I got this question can this thing handle a pressure washer that is 3600 PSI or would it break it? I tried googling it and I cannot find no answers
you will have to have a pressure control valve on the water pump and turn it down low and gradually turn the pressure to what is needed to operate the surface cleaner.
@@ALinsdau I actually have the 3200 model, gas operated. And when I saw that it only came with a single extension, I bought an extension for it, about $20 at Home Depot. It’ll save you from having to slightly bend your back over thereby preventing you from pulling out or twisting out your back. It’s worth the $20 bucks! It’s that easy, and makes your job even easier and comfortable. Check it out! 😊
I really need to know how to take off the attachment that’s normally where the tip of the washer goes it’s called a soap jet and I can’t figure out how to remove it
Great video. Now the surface cleaner you are using in the video on amazon says for a gas pressure washer yet you are using an electric pressure washer?
Does this level of cleaning offer anything other than cosmetic changes? Like a longer lasting surface finish on concrete? If not I only ever see using this on a deck for pre-sealing clean. There's no way this is faster than a deck scrubber and good detergent. Not from what I seen in the video at least. I'm assuming it can also be used on asphalt? Good video, nice looking driveway!
That looks like the surface cleaner for “gas” pressure washers and your using an electric washer....did you have any issues...I just bought the same washer and attachment and then noticed the attachment was for “gas only”?
I found I have to move a bit slower than I might with a gas pressure washer. However, this surface washer makes the job so much easier that going slower is still far faster than using a spray head.
Yes that's for gas pressure washer, its heavier for the electric washer were it doesn't have enough pressure to push up and when spinning not making the water come out. if you use the electric surface washer will work better for electric pressure washer.
I bought the 12” and all I keep getting is rings, why is that? I have 2000 PSI. I also find myself pushing down to hold it down with effort as it keeps wanting to float up and not staying down on its own. I have large area and really need to get this to work.
Nice video but you should have your wife as you go down the driveway follow you with a standard garden hose with a sprayer and hose down as you go to flush the dirt down wards.
Tim from Canada, anything to do with a Ryobi you’re pretty much screwed. You would have more pressure from a garden hose than you would from any Ryobi tool, especially pressure washer.. Ryobi sucks. I know I have the tools they are not worth the money I invested in them. The Ryobi brand is a handyman tool that thinks that they are pro tool classification. The Ryobi tool is Grbic. They should start taking the price down on these tools. The RYOBI brand is charging too much for these tools.
Surface cleaners suck!! You always have to backtrack and it leaves lines. Everyone always looking for the easy way out. For concrete set nozzle at 15" , recommend PSI 3000 minimum , don't be scared to get feet wet , wear rubber boots , MOST IMPORTANTLY keep nozzle almost but not quite perfectly straight up & down and only inches off the ground as you move! There is no better way to clean concrete because this is simply the best way according to Mr. Common Sense

Get the Ryobi Surface Cleaner at Amazon: amzn.to/36BlgWC
Thank you! Wow, what a beautiful little spot you are in! Mountain views!
It really is!
Made so much sense! I kept complaining that what I already worked on was getting dirty!
Thanks for watching.
awesone video!
I just bought one today from homedepot and ordered a surface cleaner.
Hope you enjoy it!
THANK YOU! Have exact pressure washer & thought it was broke. Appreciate you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank so much for the tip. I’m going to Home Depot tomorrow to get the ryobi 2300psi driveway cleaner. If not for you I would have done wrong.
Best of luck!

Can you make a video how to attache surface cleaner to spray wand ? How to use I can’t figure it out.
Same
Pull back the lock and push the connector in.
I have the same surface washer it does A very good job.
I'm looking forward to it this summer.
Do you use a cleaner or just water? Is the cleaner a separate step? Thanks!
I don't
Thanks for the video brother 😎🤙🏻
Just the video I needed! Thanks
Excellent!
Thank You !
You're welcome!
hey i’m very late to this video but i recently purchased a surface cleaner and i have a dewalt pressure washer and it doesn’t seem to connect to it
There are different adapters. Usually they're pretty standard but perhaps your Dewalt is different?

Thanks man for the information
Any time!
I can use this for any ol pressure washer right?
It should.
I do mobile carwashes and want to start doing driveways.. how much do i charge? Also for garage doors?
It’s up to you and what you think your work is worth
Check your local competition to get a starting point.
Will this surface cleaner work on different brand pressure washer
If the other brand has enough pressure and the same connector, it should.
This was helpful!
Thanks!
Hello Thanks for your video, How is your surface cleaner holding after 2 years? Thanks
So far so good. Will fire it up again this spring.
Can you extend that pole part? it seems really short which can lead to back issues
There might be an extension pole available.
So? Is this an electric washer or gas-powered? And, what is the PSI output?
I'm using electric @ 2900psi.
Thank you for the video. Have you ever tried using this indoors? I have a slate floor that really could use a pressure wash cleaning.
Thank you!
Nope but it should work.

I got question I just bought one with gas . Did the nozzle came with it or seperate? Thank you in advance
Just the connector, tube to connect the head, and the head itself.
Can anybody help me out I got this question can this thing handle a pressure washer that is 3600 PSI or would it break it? I tried googling it and I cannot find no answers
Probably but the instruction manual in the website should have an answer.
you will have to have a pressure control valve on the water pump and turn it down low and gradually turn the pressure to what is needed to operate the surface cleaner.
How does your surface cleaner not leave any circular marks on the ground cause when I do it it just leaves marks
Move the cleaner much slower so it has time.
Mine is only making fine marks where the jets come out. It’s not cleaning the whole disc area
Move slower unless your pressure washer isn't strong enough.
You need to add an extension bar to your handle so that you can wash in more upright position.
That'd be nice!

Can you use pressure washer soap with the Ryobi 15in asura e cleaner?
Check with the manufacturer for sure.
Anyone have any tips on this one versus the one with wheels?
That'd be fun.
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
How do you think it would work on a ridged metal roof with a electric Ryobi 1600 psi pressure washer. Thank from New Orleans 🎭
As long as the ridges aren't too deep, it should be a good option. Be safe!
Great video. Now the surface cleaner you are using in the video on amazon says for a gas pressure washer yet you are using an electric pressure washer?
Yes on both counts. I just drag the unit slower and it gets the job done. Even with that, it's far less effort and time than a nozzle.
Can I use the surface cleaner on a 2000 pis pressure washer?
It works with mine. You just have to move slower.
@@ALinsdau thanks 😊
Can I use the 15 inch one that says for gas or the 12 inch for electric?
I have a 2000 psi electric
This was very helpful. You think I could use this to clean floors? Like tile and grout?
That'd be pretty intense if it were inside. Outside, for sure.
If you can afford it, get a steam cleaner. Nothing IMHO works better on grout and is chemical free.

Too true.
What checmical are u using in the Ryobi

@@alvincarterm4 that surface cleaner is designed for at least 2300 psi.
Not enough water pressure coming to the machine, or not enough water pressure from the machine to the surface cleaner to turn the water bar.

It still cleans faster than using the nozzle in my experience.
