- The Eagle Ray is probably Phoibos' most popular model. It shares some subtle and not-so-subtle design DNA with the Omega Seamaster. Instead of resting on their laurels, the microbrand has just released an updated 2023 version of their Eagle Ray compressor (PY series).

A GORGEOUS watch! I bought this watch based on your video, and it's stunning! To me, it looks far smaller than in the video, but that's probably just my preference. I like decent sized watches, and this is about as small as I would personally go. Phoibos has become one of my favorite brands amongst the 225+ watches that I own, and this is my second from them. I bought the green dial/gold hands Narwahl as well, and it's a stunner as well, so an incredible well made classic look, and the quality hits at many times their price. Look that one up too. Your review is fantastic, adn the video work, with the great color, lighting, and contrast, as well as razor sharp closeup work, is outstanding. Thank you!

Great video - I have a nice watch collection with nothing under 1k - an Oris. I usually don't pay that much attention to microbands but there's something about how this watch looks that is very interesting. I purchased it and will update accordingly once its in my hands.

This watch looks rad. I've never herd of the brand. Will be bookmarking their sight and waiting for this to get in stock. I have a wide flat wrist so I think the size will be perfect.

That's an attention getting dial, very attractive. I love the texture of the dial center. I'll have to check this beauty out.
That texture is really something else. There were so many times I looked at my wrist to read the time, but got completely distracted and just stared aimlessly at the dial instead. 🤣

I feel the same, John. I think there's a huge market for smaller versions of these Phoiboses/Phoibi. I hope they have 39mm models in the pipeline!
@@WristWatchingthat would be good. Phoibos at least are doing something with their dials... I have bought 3 in the past and always found them rather flat and uninspired... But this Hyperspace dial as you call it should definitely become a thing 😊
Didn’t know you owned so many of them! You’re right though, most of their other dials look flat. This is the complete opposite.

Yes hyperspace dial! Does the timing bezel lock or does it move if bumped?
Hyperspace dial gang! You can screw in the crown to lock the timing bezel after setting it. There's a clutch that disengages the bezel when you push the crown down, so it doesn't move while you're screwing it in too.
I bought the now sold out quartz version, like the dial better. It wears huuuuuuuuuge for 41 mm.

The dial is absolutely mesmerizing, would buy it in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the ugly case shape. Put that dial in a "Dress KX" case at 39-40mm and you have a winner.
Now, that would be a fantastic watch!
That thing is beautiful, but I don't think I can handle a watch with so much heft anymore. Was it 174g before you removed links, or after? By the way... I can see those dumbbells paying dividends already! 😂😉
My bad, that was the weight before removing any links! I got my notes mixed up. It's still a hefty watch though. My 2024 goal is to get 7" wrists, so it's good to know you're seeing some progress from all my wrist curls hahaha. 🤣
