This video really shows how much knowledge and experiences separates beginners and experts. Great video!
That's quite the compliment. I really appreciate you watching! Hoping to share more to help people learn quicker
I bet you are watching this with one leg over the other ! 💫
brother how did you 😢😢, i seriously am!
My jaw dropped when I saw your comment because I sure am
This was scary😅
Lol 😂😂😂😂 true
Close, just placed my right foot beside my left leg
Not over
Ryan, I'm REALLY enjoying your channel man! Not everyone knows how much effort goes into making a video like this... I see you brother WELL DONE!!!
My man... thank you so so much. Means a lot
I agree it takes a lot of efforts good one ryan
Totally agree about @RyanKao and the same goes for your channel @jacques_crafford.
I just recently found this channel, and as someone wanting to get better at filmography, I've never thought about recreating scenes. Everyone's always after, gotta be creative and do something new. But being able to break down how other filmographers do it, really helps someone learn the craft a lot more than just coming up with something new.
Thank you for your videos!
i've never seen anyone talk about it follows let alone recreate one scene, this was really good, i could watch videos like this forever. my mouth hit the floor after how good the first recreation ended up. i thought it was amazing that you tried to recreate the set decorations as well. and i thought it was really cute how your wife helped you with the video, great job both of you!
this is insane! truly what makes something look cinematic is lighting
Wow, this was an interesting video for me! Thanks for this video Ryan. I am an ZV-E10 user from since day 1 of it's launch and completely blown away with what you accomplished! I believe there is still a lot to learn from you and pushing the limits of Sony ZV-E10. Would you consider to do full settings and post production with this ZV-E10? That would be awesome! ❤
These "Practicing Filmmaking the right way" concept is beautiful & original. Top notch work Ryan! 😄🙌🏼
Incredible video Ryan! It's very impressive how you're able to observe the shots and recreate them. You did an excellent job, specially with the first and third shots.
Absolutely love it! You too are amazing with your art and work and the way you work together and are passionate about what you do together.. is beautiful!
i just wanna say i bought my first camera being the zve10 about a half a year ago ive been having so much fun mastering the camera as much as i can, u just inspired me so much man, keep up the amazing content
Love this series - my mind starts racing at what other movies to try to learn from by copying. Keep these coming!
I love this video sm. Your techniques and how you were able to recreate each scene was so well done, and so well explained. Thank you Ryan.
Ahh thank you so much! Really glad you got something out of it.
Uuuh such a joy to watch you guys breakthrough those scenes. ❤
This was absolutely amazing!! More like this!! LOVED IT!!!!!
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my TH-cam channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,668 subs and > 1k hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
Appreciate all the work that went into making this dude! Also, the second shot looks closer than you give yourself credit for. Maybe a bounce from a bigger source like another bedsheet on camera left would soften those specular highlights on your key. Now I gotta go give this a try...
Awesome! Fully agree with you: its not about the latest camera but about story, location, and lighting!
Just want to say I appreciate the effort and time you have both put into making this video 👏🙏!
Great video! i just recently bought a zv-e10 and its nice to know you can get this amount of quality from a budget camera
These breakdowns are dope bro and really inspiring to try different techniques 🔥
This was fantastic! You gave me some serious direction with how to think and improve. Also what I should probably buy next, some reflectors and better light sources. What you pulled off with the ZVE-10 was so rewarding, it gives me great hope to make small projects with my a6400. Thank you.
it's amazing that these were shot with a camera that is under $1,000
Really helpful to hear your thought process & ideas.
I stumbled upon this video - I'm not a videographer of any sort but I do love visual arts. And, I have to say, this video is incredible!
I love this. I can't believe how close you got to the originals. I also realize that I need to think outside of the box a bit to get a shot.
This was amazing ! You and your wife make a great team!
Hey, really well done, great practical video and it was really informative to even me that has been doing video for a really long time. Great job.
Probably the best and most hopeful video I’ve seen on filmmaking in a long time. Composition, lighting, storytelling and problem solving is all that matters 99% of the time.
Do you also make videos on your color grading process? I couldn’t find any.
Thanks for this!!!
This was amazing feedback man! Couldn’t appreciate it more. In the process of working on sharing my color grading process, hopefully will have something soon!
@@RyanKao thanks man! Just bought the same lighting setup because of you and I appreciate that!
Keep us updated on the color grading video please!!!
I really enjoyed this video and really appreciating your efforts❤
Dude. That's wildly impressive. Well done!
Nice job brother. Love from Turkey 🙌🏻
Appreciate it man 🙏
This was awesome, and the 'fist' tip to mimic a face when you don't have a stand-in is genius. Nice job on this!
Hey, thanks! Glad you liked it!!
The knowledge of your eye and expertise really shows in this video. Truly a fun one to watch!!
Thank you so much Joseph. Glad to have you here!
Bro always creating such amazing content! I love it 😍
Would have loved to see the color grading process on this. Really nice work you do!
Definitely inspired 🔥thanks for making this 🙏🏿
You’re very talanted!
Best of luck! And thank you for a cool video! 👍
very well done Ryan. I loved it
what i most did with my fisrt short films annd practice was actually watch many references that i wanted and get inspired by them on doing similar scenes, but not copying them, its crazy how much naturally the influences comes to you when ur going to build a scenario for a scene, and compose the lights, i was watching so much david fincher movies, and the Drive movie that my short film turned out to have a very good photography that reminded those movies
Thanks man. Finally I catch up the lesson that i've been skip many years ago.
Would love to see your HLG3 workflow. I'm still a beginner and have avoided using it even after hearing the benefits of its dynamic range and low light capabilities because I'm not sure how to set it up in Davinci Resolve. Love the video! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Dude the soundtrack for It Follows is 🔥 One of the songs has been my ringtone for a while now!
this video appeared right on the day I decided to push myself to work more with my ZVe10 too. LOVED IT. Thanks for this Ryan!
So glad man. It’s truly such a great little camera
@@RyanKao i showed it to my wife and now she understands a new camera isn’t really what i need…. Might’ve been a mistake 😂😂😂
you literally give me an another hope , that doesn't matter you have good equipment or not..the only one thing you need is "keep practicing , keep improving"...thank a lot man!!
I've been shooting still since 1972. My friends and I would get into faux arguments on which camera is best. We laughed and had a great time taking pictures. The camera is a tool, nothing more. Some are more advanced with great features, others are simple. For us old timers, the only real difference was the type of film we used. Camera was nothing more than a box to hold the film and lens.
I wish I was born about 20 years later, I would have jumped on the video making bandwagon. Looks like so much fun. These cameras are so much better than those old VHS video tape machines.
@@bondgabebond4907 thanks for sharing SIR 💥
I really like your approach, the depth of tackling your objective and explaining your train of thought. It resonates with how I feel like my brain works haha. Now that you used a more budget camera, it definitely made it easier to start since I was looking at the A7 models. I’m really grateful. Def like and Sub! God bless!
it turned out soooooo good i love it!!!! I have the zv e10 as well and i love. As i started the whole journey january 2023 and still learning with the kit lens, i am looking forward to stock up my equipment. Getting slowly to it. Already have some lights and other stuff but still a long way to go. Thanks for your video :D
I love this cinematography related content!
I really need to make good use of my Sony ZVE-10! This is inspiring. 🔥
Great video, Ryan!
Everything you touch is fireeeee 🔥🔥
Mate! I really enjoy this video! You should do more videos like this one!
So so glad. More coming right up🫡
Dude, you nailed this! Plus your are setting great example by practicing what you preach. great job keep it up. :) and thanks.
To help people learn, I think it's crucial to show how the image *changes* as each lighting choice is made, which you do really well here. So many videos I've found simply throw up a final image and describe it, but as with storytelling, getting an idea across requires showing change over time. You'd think filmmakers would understand this intuitively, but I think your video is in the minority in taking this approach. Thank you so much, and please keep up the great work!
this!
This was Fantastic. Thank You
Definitely inspired me!!
you dropped TONS OF GEMS in this video. Thank you!
Thank YOU!
Love my zv-e10. Glad yours is serving you well!!!
I'm rubbish at grading, but I can pull and push it far enough to get what I want and I'm glad for it 🤠
Hahaha same
It's such a power little package. Keep pushing it and challenging yourself and I'm sure you'll get there!
@@RyanKao thank you!
The Hardest part as always, is turning it on and getting started!!
These came out great! I can’t believe how close the bed shot was 😮😮
Thanks!! This was a fun one, I was equally surprised... 😅
@@RyanKao a testament to your dedication to your craft! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm just mind blown by your creativity man, damn now I can see that without a budget, BUT with great ideas AND knowledge, you create such gems, although you do have a lot of material, the lights and stuff, so you do need to have a budget to create, but not the latest camera
Ryan, You are realy great ! We learn a lot from you. Thank you.
I appreciate that!
This is super valuable. Hope in the next video you can recreate some outdoor shots from a movie
Great idea… more coming soon 👨🏻🍳🫡
Nice. Inspired. Subbed. Thank you!
This was a piece of art congrats. I feel inspired to go out and try for myself now
Exactly what I want to hear!!
@@RyanKao mission accomplished
🔥🔥🔥 this is such a good exercise for cinematographers
Absolutely brilliant. I appreciate your effort for teaching. Danka
Many thanks!!!
it shows , how much important is exposure and lighting 👌
Yo the fist technique was dope, thanks!
No problem!!
I've learned that the most important things to make a good image is Lighting, composition, and subject in that order. And of course above all you do these things to tell a good story.
Back at it again with a banger 🔥
My boy! Let's get it
Great work, that inspires me to make a short film.
From México
Well done! I love this!
🙌
massive content. thanks a lot!
Great video, Ryan. I think the ZV-1F is technically Sony's cheapest current mirrorless, but it's fair if we all pretend that thing doesn't exist
love the vid!
DAMNNNN this was actually fire
This is awesome I wanna start film so bad.
Any advice or videos on color grading 8-bit footage? this is awesome!
Love it follows, sick recreation.
Couldn't agree more. Much appreciated!
Thats really a important thing to do. The equipment means nothing if you know nothing about cinematography and composition. Nice vid and keep rockin, bro
You are wonderful. Keep doing what you're doing.
Really appreciate this John!!
Great work
Amazing job
Amazing! I also use HLG on Sony 8 bit, it is much more forgiving or flexible.
really good man!
10/10 vid thank you ❤
Absolutely! 🤗
This is amazing broo, btw what is your HLG3 settings? Is it just decrease the detail to -7?
sick video mate
well done looks good
just bought the zv-e10 2 weeks ago :)
It is an insane bang for buck body and it still produces some really nice quality video and photos (in my opinion).
I'm coming from smartphone and dji pocket cameras and I was just blown away by the quality. Got the body + kit lens for 650€ too
would you say its good for an absolute beginner filmmaking🥹
@@SwalihShafi-xj7iv Not looking f
to make any films with it. Just content to youtube :)
Well done Mr Ryan
Really entertaining and educating your vidéo is ❤❤ 💯 in it
Thank you so much 🤗
Dope dude!
Appreciate it!
Recently got myself this little camera! Could you please tell more about the picture profile settings used in this video? And maybe the first two steps you did after importing the footage to editor? 🙏🙏
Awesome work Ryan! The camera is full frame right? Now to go check out that movie :))
Inspirational!
Ooh I love this - might try something similar over the weekend. Hoping to see more of this on your channel!=)
You absolutely should! Good luck!! 🙏
Zve10 is the best mn, the quality can match up to expensive cameras, I love it!!!!
Nice one bro,more Grace
