It’s not plastic mate, the whole body is magnesium alloy and stainless steel, just the buttons and dials are plastic
Yep, it's metal !
Dropped the camera 4 times and didn’t break, neither scratched
Metal, better made than most modern cameras
Not plastic at all... this thing is solid! With the many available adapters, the mount is still totally fine to use. Magic Lantern is an amazing tool amazing to learn cinematography on a budget. But the camera is definitely not an easy content creator tool and I would absolutely not recommend it for any professional or client work.
The eos M is for surely an underrated camera being under $200. If you’re able to find a like new for a good price it will last you longer than expected. I take mine everywhere after having it for 4 years. I’ve dropped it multiple times on multiple surfaces and still runs like a dream
The video on my page was shot with the EOS M6 mark II. It ain’t that bad. Gotta make the most out of what you got
Think it might work well as a B camera for interviews?
I have the canon EOS M3 I like it but hate it it's to small for me the grip is to small and the screen is hard to see in sunlight not sure if anyone else has that problem, I keep pressing the buttons by accident but it has good image quality it's hard to find lenses for it but tt artisan has some less that are EOSm but I wish I could trade it for a DSLR but it's a pretty good camera I use it as a every day carry camera tho
I have dropped plastic canon cameras and they do survive.
Propaganda so there will be no scarcity on supplies.
That thing is a mini Arri Alexa
Eos M lens mount: *dead*
Eos m to EF adapter: 😋
Glad I saw this. I almost bought it. I want a beginner camera thats good for video and photos. I might get a GoPro or the Canon EOS Rebel T7.
It all depends on your preference. I think the eos m is one of the most video capable canon cameras with magic lantern. But a DSLR body is a lot more ergonomic for photography.
I started out with a 1300D. Now I love my EOS M5. Been getting a lot of good deals on a dead camera mount
@@zim249 there's an M5? I'm interested in the m50 tbh. Very interested
@@AustnTok yes, the EOS M5 is the mirrorless version of the 80D. It has a body similar to the M50 but with more dials and I think a bigger battery. It does not shoot 4k though. The M50 does shoot 4k video and has the articulating screen so it depends on your preference. I think the M50 is a good beginners camera, so is the Fujifilm X-T30, Sony A6400.
You should try them out if possible, because cameras are basically an extension of your body. If you don't feel right using them, it won't help your creative process. Its too easy to get caught up in camera gear and end up spending too much espcially when you are a beginner
@@AustnTok M50!
quick question, with the magic latern, can you do photography? curious to capture great photos with the color bit upgrade with ML firmware
I don't think ML settings affect pictures and I've run into issues with certain ML settings causing the camera to hard freeze when taking pictures. Or to put it more properly I don't think it affects RAW which is what I have my picture settings set to.
It's literally full metal, and solid tuch screen, enough lenses, ok battery.
load this sucker up with Magic Lantern and then give it a whirl. You'll be crazy surprised.
I have got m50m2 myself for daily photographer, I can literally says it is a really good beginer camera it has a useful touch screen, easily setting function and great image quality. I don't know why that guy has very bad perspective about this camera. Btw its true about this camera has very short battery life.
Way to review THE FIRST generation.
It's totally relevant to all the people who might buy this camera to use with magic lantern which is why this camera is still popular in some circles.
Flip screen sucks
blud what, he said it cant flip
check out the m lite
