My wife, from the central US, watched a couple of your videos with me. We've been married almost 50 years now, and I think your videos helped her see a little bit about my first 20 years of life in Alaska. So, because of your excellently done productions, she decided she wanted to go on her first winter campout. We went this weekend, nothing too severe (-7ish C & 30ish kph). Hot tent (teepee). She wants to go again. You have a growing fan base :-).
To live & enjoy this lifestyle is both wonderful & wearing for the one experiencing it. The real marvel is to film it in such a way that I & others are both welcome & part of the trip. Thank you for the quiet enjoyment.
Only those who have tried to film an outing probably fully understand how much work and energy it takes to do videos like yours, especially if you really hike in the forest or in the mountains. On top of that, the quality of the footage is outstanding. One feels so sad when you think of the huge amount of garbage TV while there are beautiful videos like yours, ever so fascinating, that millions of people simply don't know anything about. I absolutely love most of your videos, and this is one of them. Thank you very much.
Great balance in this video. A bit of everything and not too much of any one task. Fire building is so much work but satisfying work. I always look forward to that task when I'm winter camping. That and morning coffee! Thanks for sharing your planning strategies.
The opening scene for day three is masterful. You are so incredibly good at this. Your work is greatly admired and appreciated, and I thank you for creating these.
One of the things that I really love about your adventures, is that even though I live in woods much like your usual hikes, it NEVER snows here, and I love seeing you making the most of the season and taming the snow! I did a little snow camping when I was young, and it is NOT for wimps. Good equipment is a must, but that only goes so far. You make it look easy and fun! And over the last few years of watching your treks, you have rekindled my desires to venture out in my own woods more often and take the game trails deeper into the forest. Nature is the most amazing entertainer, if you just take the time to observe. Keep posting glimpses into your passion for the Great Outdoors, my friend!
Perfectly! As always - simple and without unnecessary details. Everything you need and as convenient as possible. Nothing superfluous. How I miss it! Every time I try to take the most necessary things, but in fact it turns out that I didn't use half of the equipment...
I watch your videos at night before I go to sleep. They are SO relaxing! Beautiful scenery, sounds, and bushcraft living. Just what the doctor ordered! Thank you for such wonderful videos!
A Boy Scout friend of mine invited me to go along to help him earn a winter camping merit badge. We encountered a similar environment to yours. We had 'issues:' we could not start a fire to 'save our souls.' We had no knowledge of the importance of insulation beneath our sleep systems. Well...we had no knowledge about 'sleep systems!' Your camp is high on my list of 'do-over' campouts.
Thank you so much for your time you give to all of us on a other amazing wonderful Adventure you take us on Sending love and light and peace and many more blessings going your way keep shining bright And Merry Christmas and happy new year 🏕🏕🛶🛶🎄🎄🎆🎆
4:35, it is so fun and interesting to see such videos, i admire the stamina and courage. I have a small remark, the way you chop that log , i think it is risky, the axe is close to your leg. Wish you good day, sir.
Thank you so much for explaining principles of your unique choices for details in the description, e.g. emanel cup. The outdoor schools are too often stereotyped with solutions and recommendations. Glad that you are differentiating things with firm examples backed with your experience! Greetings from Finland, Janne
Nature is so beautiful! Just being out there is healing to the mind and soul. I miss living where winter is still winter weather and not 80 degrees in December (Florida)
Woho finally back, i will light som candles, eat some nice food and watch the whole video in peace =) thanks for this relaxing moment : hitting play in a moment =)
Hello from Moose Jaw Somehow your video didn't get uploaded, I found you new video today. Very good and amazing what food you still cooked. Good to see you around and not laying in bed being sick. Take care and stay healthy with your family. 👍
Love how your out in the environment just trying to survive…. Most people feel a lot more fulfillment when they don’t have nothing and then earn something
As always, brilliant work. I just wished we could have 12-24hour feed from one camera that runs all night like the Norwegian burning log videos. The silence is golden... I was trying to tell some friends here in LA that in Sweden we go camping all year around and they were all convinced I was lying. I forwarded this to them and still waiting for a comment. Camping to them is staying in a motel in a national park..
What an amazing trip! Your country is full of snow. Such winter i'm jelous! Beautiful shots, amazing hike you did. As always great content! Greetings from Lithuania ✌🇱🇹
ㄴ (translation) I cheer for you who enjoy survival camping in poor conditions. I can't go straight to camping like this, so I'm enjoying it while watching this broadcast.
Last weekend i went for my first winter camping and my thoughts after is that is a whole new level of experience. In spring-autumn season is walk in a park. Winter showed me how important is to find and gather dry fuel for fire, maintaining fire or make self-sustainable one (i went for first option so i had to wake up now and then to put some wood into fire), your shelter and its setup or prepairing food to have energy to survive. I And you have to have equipment that you trust.
To old and cold to do this anymore but thank you for sharing...it takes me back to my youth.. I could almost smell the smoke and meat cooking and the thunk of your axe stirs so many memories! All the best to you my friend!
Yet another masterpiece. You do an extraordinary job of capturing the different moods of the forest during the different times of day/night. I also love watching you set up your different camps from day to day! Thank you for these wonderful productions - they are inspiring!
Such well crafted video, both pre and post production. Thank you for bringing us the wilderness and for captivating all the mesmersizing sceneries. Thank you for close ups as well, some tricks & tips even without talking, that's just cherry on top.

Thanks for the video, been up all night sick watching pure garbage on TV, finally something worth watching and actually enjoying. 👍🏼🍺👊🏼

Yeah these mostly-silent bushcraft and hiking videos are the ultimate for just relaxing and watching
The sound-absorbing effect of the snow makes the fabulous silence of nature even quieter. Stunning as always 👍
Thanks a lot!
Its my favorite time of the year. Sitting in the quiet woods, you can hear the snow flakes falling.
