That axe still needs a lot of help. You did well for what you did do, it feels incomplete.
I know what you mean. I may do some improvements in the future.
Thanks :)
When the rust came off it looked like and aftermath of taco Bell in the toilet
Was thinking could the same process be used to clean the helmet?
...you may need to see a doctor.
@@vortecmacs really? I was quite looking forward to leaving it in soak overnight!
Agree with you
Haha
I've watched a few of the axe restorations now and have decided to stop looking at the comments because they annoy me. When people shine up the axes like a mirror and get rid of the "rustic" look people complain. When someone keeps the rustic look people complain that they didnt remove enough rust or corrosion then people say it's not even a restoration. The person working on the axe has their own personal preference on what they want to do with it and y'all just need to respect them for that, your comments probably wont change their opinion at all, it's just unnecessary hate.
That is very true. Thanks for that 👍
It's probably like goldilocks, too much, too little, just right.
1800 people gave this a thumbs down,,,,how stupid is that.
Some axes needs to be shiny.. I will never use an axe like this to split logs.. It will stuck....
At the end of the day, it is their thing to restore the way they want. They could chose to plow it over with an eighteen wheeler if they really want to.
Wow. At first I couldn't believe that you weren't going to remove all that rust, but the end result looks great! Nice job!
Thanks a lot.
I tend to keep a vintage look of my restored tools. Glad you enjoy the video 😊
good quality steel hammer
👍
Very nice Restoration
Thanks
I'm glad ya showed what can happen unexpectedly. Great safety video actually. Glad ya wasn't injured.
Great video. Nice restoration
Thanks 👍
It's like a Freddy Krueger make-over.
That's a good one 👍
One of these days you're gonna reenact that scene from Hot Rod when Andy Samberg takes Bill Hader to the hospital
👍
Restored, yet still looks old...... perfect !
Thanks for feedback
Very nice
👍
TOP RESTORATION JOB READY FOR THAT ZOMBIE ATTACK HEAD STRIKER
Hehe awosome
Appreciate your feedback 👍
Good 👍
Thanks
Well said👍
You and I have a different idea about what is restoring. And there is nothing wrong with that,to each his own. I believe it was a little far gone for a true restoration. You put in a lot of hard work doing what you did. Great effort.
Thanks for feedback
Appreciate your feedback 👍
Nice
Thanks👍
Thanks for not making this a show room finished piece. Great job
Thanks👍
Very disappointed - no rusty firemen at all in this video 0/10
Your comment is disappointing too
Thanks
The videos sounds: things being used on 2x speed
What i hear: *30 A-10s having a dog fight*
Sorry mate 🤣
no hatchet hung next to the fire hose in buildings to meet fire code until they started to disappear and was found that leaving a door closed was the best policy
👍
theres always a beauty under the rust..well done sir.
Thanks. You are right 👍
Bring the metal back to life was the amazing thing.
Thanks 👍
Never tried electrolysis. Looks like it worked out fine. Good restoration. 👍
Need to try it. It's cheap and good way of de-rusting.
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya 🙏
Thank you👍
When is he gonna start restoring it?
Soon 👍
Good job
Thanks
The first Algerian Arab to watch the video really cool video
Thank you 👍
Thanks
Wow an actual case of an “IMPOSSIBLE” restoration
Appreciate your feedback 👍
The axe looked better when it was rusty. Looked like you attached a table leg to a beat up axe and called it a day.
Hehe, thanks for your feedback
Thanks for feedback
Why do you think so
And this video is a prime example of, why NO ONE should wear gloves while using a drill press! I have seen people lose fingers from this exact scenario!
Thanks for the "highlighted comment", I think this a first.
Appreciate your feedback 👍
You're welcome and I do agree with comment.
Holy delay in response..... 😆
@@anthonytetreau522 Hehe. Better late than never 😂
Time to buy a router and jigsaw I think. Would be a big time saver.
Sharpen it next time, 20:05 its so blunt!!
Sometimes you need to get by with what you have on hand 👍
Te ha quedado preciosa! Buen trabajo!!
Thanks
Love to see how you restore a skip of rust into a Ford escort now
Hehe that's funny one 🤣👍
7:56 IT WAS DANGEROUS! ,
Thanks for feedback
Thank you 👍

I want to buy a sand blaster. Thanks for commenting.
If you wanted to leave the axe pitted so be it...but the handle is not what i would have done, its to boxy and big for that form of axe...a more slender handle maybe distressed a bit...
That being said, its your axe and if you're happy thats all that matters...if its for a client and they are happy its their money...and thats all that matters
Until these keyboard warriors pay your bills their opinion doesnt matter...i would have done it differently but again i am not paying your bills, so until i do my opinion doesnt matter really either...
I personally would have looked at howe much axe head was left and if it was enough ground down to a level surface, if not i would have left it alone and tried to perma blue it or something to prevent further decay
If i shines it new, new handle, if its pitted something distressed...
But like i said i didt pay the bills
Hi there. I really appreciate your comment and I understand where you coming from. I would also appreciate if you have a look at my other fireman's axe restorations and share your opinion too. Handles are not too boxy there 😊
Thanks for checking my video out and your input.
It's good to see to honest criticism , not intended to be rude, taken as such with honest appreciation.
That's how it should work.
At least no one died.
lol
Appreciate your feedback 👍
What wonderful project..
Thanks !

Medieval
Do you like that style ?
good attempt
Thank you :)
It looked much better before what you did was pointless
Are you serious?
good table leg
Lol
That axe is unrestorable
Lynch 616 still fun to try
It's all about fun and improving :)
Thanks guys for watching.
FALCON390 Workshop love the content keep it up
I don't know how much my comment will mean to you , but you did an awesome job and you definetely deserve more subs 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks a lot!
I really appreciate your comment.
Thanks!
More square than I care for, though still a good job.
Thanks
Nice new handle, and I'm glad you removed all that rust, but.....restoration? Eh....
Yep
great restoration nice job 👍
Thanks
Una buena forma de quedarte sin DEDOS 👍
Appreciate your feedback 👍
So much anxiety watching this. Please for the love of your hands take the gloves off when using the drill press and the grinding wheel. One stray fibre gets hung up on a rotating tool like that and you'll kiss those fingers goodbye. Don't think I need to say anything on work holding on the drill press. A great demonstration of how not to hold things on the drill press.
Otherwise nice work
Thanks. I try to improve my work everytime. Check out my newest videos and let me know what you think.
Have I finally found a restoration person in the uk
Yes you did 👍
Grind that thing down. Make it chrome. There's plenty of meat left on it.
Next time :)
some things are meant to stay buried
Not on my watch 👍
Was it restoration or making axe handle?
Both
If you turn your chisel bevel down it works better
I'll try this definitely.
Thanks!
There're some axe in my rust
🤣🤣🤣👍
Thanks for tour feedback
I think you took off just enough rust and pitting...NAIL IT!! but i HAte the handle way to thick at the top.
Can't have everything 🤣👍
@@FALCON390Workshop The handle looks like the leg from my coffee table. If you had to use this ax the handle would be inter-fearing a lot. As for "can't have everything" when you make it yourself you can have everything. You simply start over until you are happy.
@@pghgeo816 I get your point. Thanks👍
What do you mean
You should’ve added a compass and bottle opener into the handle
That's a good idea for next project
Some things are not meant to be restored. This axe wasn't worth it in my opinion
Everything need a second chance 👍
Restored...???
Not ?
You know you can save yourself some time and energy if you just use white vinegar to take off the rust probably lower your electric bill too
I'll have to do this with today's energy prices
Dude.. you gotta work on your drill press game. Or at the very least, get your self a drill press vise
Thanks for feedback
Thanks for feedback
Appreciate your feedback 👍
Appreciate your feedback 👍
12:31 He brought a rusty axe to a Stuka Dive Bomber fight!
Hehe I hear that now
Hi bro 👋👋👋 good to see you 🤝🤝🤝 very good restoration axe 👍👍👍
Thanks man👍
Not sure you used enough clamps
How many do I need ?
@@FALCON390Workshop i was only joking brother. You do amazing work.
@@therealae6447 🤣👍thanks
Admire the work but you need to work on your shop practice or vicegrips if drilling out a small piece or better yet cut it from a bigger piece you can clamp down securely then cut out the shape after drilling. Nice job be careful. Also while sharpening one should place the piece so that the grinder or sanding belt is rotating towards you and against the edge the opposite of what you did on the final sharpen . Love your stuff.
Thanks for your feedback!
I'll definitely change the way I work to make it safer. Thanks!
I see the red rub stuff used with your grinder. Then you used white and used your grinder. What are the rub stuff called and what is the grit sandpaper you use for both? Thank you. Beautiful work
Thank for watching.
Could you add time stump to the parts you asking about. Just time in that format: for example 2:35 so I'll be able to give you accurate answer. Thanks again and check my other videos out!
Thanks
Appreciate your feedback 👍
Really more of a re-imagining than a restoration, though it does look cool! Handle looks overly chunky, but seemed pretty stable when you used it so, guess that works! Nice.
Thanks for your feedback! Appreciate it :)
First u make the drill then cut the small piece
Yep
"Ancient Nordic Battle Axe"
Nice one 👍
Good idea with the popcicle sticks and the c clamps! I will use that in the future to not mar the finish thank you!
I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching 👍
Sometimes it's better not to create Frankensteins or zombies and leave things dead ! :-))
... Unless you are a crazy creator :-))
I've got an original if you want a picture.
Thanks
Cheers for that 👍
Crude but effective. I would have grinder the whole thing down to shine.
that would remove half of the material.
Appreciate your feedback 👍
Didn't look like the thumbnail. Well done anyway.
Thanks :)
Thanks for feedback
Thank you so much
Hmmmm Should have shined it up.
Why do you think so ?
I see that Russia guys right comment your job! Handle amful and not comfortable to keep. 3 stars
👍
First off that my friend is a hatchet not an axe and axe has a longer handle hatchet has shorter ones meant for cutting small blocks and another for bigger blocks also it’s needs more sharpening then it would be a good hatchet
It's is defenitly British issue fireman axe
Appreciate your feedback 👍
Don't really care for the handle. He put in a lot of work though. Just not the best approach.
How would you approach that ?
@@FALCON390Workshop maybe take some girth out of the higher end and put towards the bottom. Like if you were to use the axe and your hand slid it would b be from thinner to thicker. Letting your hand regrab the handle. Other then that I like the look of the metal and the stain of the wood.
@@robertborunda9498 cheers for that I appreciate your feedback. Glad you like the rest of the axe. 👍
