    Grizzly Jim, thank you for a very informative instructional video on beginning archery. I was a recurve bow enthusiast from my pre-teens until I enlisted in the military. I learned everything the hard way, self-taught. Everything you cover encompasses all the mistakes, and adjustments, I made over my few years as a young beginning archer through my formative years. Your video really brought back memories of my middle childhood. - Bisonwilliam

    I'm gonna pick my first bow next month and I'm so excited! I've been wanting to do Archery since high school but didn't get a chance but now even If I'm in my middle age I will give my all to learn and become good with it In Shaa Allah 🎯🇵🇭

    I just so happened to buy the same kind of bow recently 24lb 62" Core Pulse. The mention of tough arrows is a nice touch. I bought ten wooden ones and three days of intensive training later I'm down to four usable left.
    Two have simply vanished, one is missing a tip, three have broken in half, one of the remaining ones have deep grooves in it as I have managed to bruise it with another arrow, damaged feathers are more or less a daily repair thing. When it comes to arrow rests, from my experience in good conditions, the lifetime of a cheap plastic arrow rest is some 200 shots.

    You mentioned the common sense approach to safety but it's worth pointing out that a misfired arrow, even from a light weight bow, can travel a long distance and still cause injury or damage so it's really important to consider what is behind the target a standard fence will not provide enough protection from accidents!

      Thus, called common sense, if you have it good, if you done do not shoot anything except your foot.

      @@rinkerd3575 lol, yeah, I few things have been changed/upgraded; my bracer has been changed at least three times, and I’ve topped up my arrow collection (tried different materials etc).

    Hi guys!
    What do you think about Core Hit?
    I found only one opinion that there is no difference between this Core Hit and Samick Polaris if someone is a total beginner.

    • @leonda4817
      @leonda4817 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are the same bows made in the same factory, like several other brands. Doesn't really matter what you pick, just take a close look at the pictures to see if it is indeed the same type. I got a samick riser that was branded with "exe" and i use it with "core" limbs

    Ash buddy, What are you dong creating shadows during the video shoot? ;-) It messes with photographers with A.D.D, when they are watching the video. Squirrel! Probably a very small part of your audience. Almost as distracting as having a small 3D target run across the back of the scene. Hint Hint. And don't let Jim push you around too much. Keep up the fantastic video work!

    do you like "super" medival bows that is just a stock with a string and no arrow rest. but when I say medival I mean not homemade or sheap bows if you no what i mean.
    if you want to understand witch bow I mean just search "horseback archery".

    • @LukasVos
      @LukasVos 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alv Power bows for shooting from horseback are not "sticks with a string", they are always made from various components (horn, wood,...) and have a recurve. I think you mean medieval style longbows with "stick with a string", don't you? These are way too long to shoot from horseback.
      I shoot a longbow without arrow rest and without nocking point, and I love it! After a bit of training you are as accurate as all the other archers, even while they are using nocking point and arrow rest. It's all a question of repeatability. You don't need a fixed arrow rest nor a nocking point, if you have an eye on the accuracy of making it all the time the same way when you nock your arrow. It's like the anchor point. You don't need to have the same anchor point like your trainer or a Olympic Archer, as long as you have the same anchor point all the time you shoot. My personal anchor point is totally different from the anchor points of all the other archers in my group, but I hit the target as well as they do.

    • @LukasVos
      @LukasVos 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and it is a wonderful feeling to make it all by yourself and don't need to trust the set-up (and if you don't hit, the failure is yours, not the failure of a screw or something else)

    Why are there so many useless stuff for archery? The only thing you need other from a bow and arrow,is a glowe for the front arm,so the arrow woulnd't cut your hand
