Just bought this kit. Is a great package for those wanting to get into target recurve but lack the funds for high end gear. Outstanding value for money. Very happy with it!
I watch your awesome videos all the time and you and Jeff K. in Canada have me even more addicted to traditional gear than ever. I think it would be cool for Merlin to fly you out to Jeff's part of Canada for some big game hunting with the Bear bows ? Keep up the great video's !!
I personally use a Krossen Skorpion sight, and while the included pin sucks, and you can't really take off the pin for storage without losing zero, I really like it with a decent pin. The micro adjustment isn't bad either. Overall great value.
I might "upgrade" to this kit if/when I feel like I'm ready to, after using the First Shot kit for a time… I'm gonna share this video on my Unabashed Geekette Facebook page, later :D
May I pls know the size of your bow that is its height, length of string and the gap in between palm holder and the string when stringed and without string that is the gap of the free curve from palm holder to the line of the string. Pls reply me.
Hey Jim, what brand name Riser is that? Is it simply referred to as Premium Olympic. It has a nice design, and the color purple, look's really great!!!
From the website: Right Handed usually Core Air Riser, Left Handed is SF Axiom Riser. Either Ignite or Bamboom limbs. All are being phased out, so can be found heavily discounted. Core must have had problems, as the Air riser now has a recommended max of 30lbs. From memory, some of the Axiom risers have recommended max of 38lbs.
On the merlin site, on the page for the kit, they have drop down boxes asking who its for (teenager/adult/male/female), left/right handed, how strong you consider yourself/intended recipient & your/intended recipients approx height. They then use their experience to match a bow to you, of course nothing beats getting down to the shop(s) & seeing you/intended recipient in the flesh.
Probably not wanting to state this as markets/cost prices/profit margins fluctuate but atm £250 online price, £270 in store (the extra £20 covers, more accurate bow selection, setup & tuning help, plus some test shooting) PS hey merlin how about a job? lol ;)

Great Video Jim, but cannot understand why you would sell 5 arrows in the set when ends outdoors are of 6 arrows?????

I'm sorry, but, why put a cheap crappy arrow rest, on a Olympic Style Bow? I know it's a kit, but, come on!!!
It looks a bit like the Hoyt Hunter - included with Hoyt's £700-ish risers!
