Would love to see you react to some Andy Gibb songs…..other than the one you mentioned knowing! A funny little note about Broken Heart is beginning around mid 70’s…..when Barry would sing his long & drawn out “Anddd”…..all the girls would literally scream every time😵💫! Felt bad for him as often he could hardly hear himself sing🤩!
Sarah this was the first song written when the Bee Gees got back together. Robin had left the Bee Gees a couple years earlier, Robin was upset the agent chose the song Barry sang lead on to be on the A side of the Record, Robin wanted Lamplight the Song that Robin sang lead onto be on Side A. Lamplight was put on side B. Robin felt like he should be singing lead but it seemed like Barry wanted to be the Lead and the Agent chose Barry. Robin and Barry did not talk to each other and Maurice had to be the Man in The Middle. Robin had sang a song hinting that he missed being with his brothers and Barry and Maurice had sang a song saying they missed Robin, Maurice got Robin to agree to go to Barrys house to work things out. They decided that Barry would sing lead the most but that Robin would sing Lead some also. It was symbolic that Robin started out singing Lead on How Can you Mend a Broken Heart before handing Lead off to Barry. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart was written to tell how they felt about being apart.
This was BeeGees before their big change in the mid 70s to the more upbeat style , yes very emotional ,Robin and Maurice were the back support of the trio while Barry got most of the attention . .. .. Nights on Broadway , you will like that one .
Sarah love your pick, the Bee Gees never disappoint me. They have so much talent I love them and have followed them my whole life. Thank you Sarah you are a jewel for sure. Reaching out was definitely love lost. Some of the songs did in totally falsetto, some were great some not. I love the Bee Gees there are not many songs I don't love. Thank you Sarah!!
I was thinking about you and made sure I put in a bee gees video for you. I am glad you liked it. I am sure no matter what I will say Barry's vocals are amazing even if I am not feeling the track the brothers, gosh, they are gifted and it truly shows no matter what. Anyway, stay well and much love.
this song is also about the loss of his brothers robin passed after this performance currently barry gibb is the only one left barrys the oldest brother
Very nice reaction as usual Sarah 😃. Will you react to The Bee Gees “love so right” and “I’ve got to get a message to you “ soon, you will love these I promise 😉😃
Maurice did the high soft part..he fills where he is needed also he has a wonderful deep vocal too..listen n see the video of ,(fanny be tender with my love) you will hear our gorgeous Maurice (Mo for short)..they have thousands of songs to react to. ICONS GENIUSES all 3...also ,(knights on Broadway ) Mo does the falsetto at the end..all 3 are fantastic.....
I have done fanny and it was beautiful. everything they do is literally everything to me. All 3 of them I can't get over how the can sing and sound like 1 person. It is beautiful. I will always have a soft spot for Barry but Robin and Maurice have amazing vocals as well. I agree all 3 geniuses and icons individually and as a group.
Great vid as always. Would love to see you take on some of the earlier tracks, particularly the more obscure tracks like Barker the UFO, Mrs Gillespie's Refrigerator or Sir Geoffrey Saved the World. That's a totally different Bee Gees there. Loving the Def Leppard Saturdays and would love to see some more Poison (can't go past Look What the Cat Dragged In album)
You got it, hun. More earlier tracks, thank you for those suggestions. On the topic on DLS you will love my announcement this Saturday so you will want to watch that video. Also more poison coming your way. Thank you. Much love.
Not just singers, but wrote their own songs. And wrote for others, too.
I do know that. They are incredible. There won't be another like them.

The Gibb brothers were great singers but Robin was their secret weapon vocally.
They each bring something special that makes them larger than life and touch so many lives.
