With the 240kg and raised seat height, lower wheel base, what is the effect on CG? The SM had overcome that issue in comparison to interceptor with a much lowered CG. I ride an inti…. And is a challenge at sudden stops at narrow corners. Otherwise I love it…

The pegs scraped because Sarge was able to carry more speed and stability into the corner and get an even deeper lean angle . That's raising a glass to SG's and Sarge's capabilities. It's not an issue tbh.
Very informative review! RE has clearly made a brilliant chassis in the Super Meteor 650 and its potential seems to have been released in the SG650 with the shorter fork, shaper rake and wheel sizes closer to standard.

The state of tune is the same as the other variants but it has a different suspension setup and riding triangle, which makes it preferable in the range.

If I can adapt to the way this machine has to be leaned into corners unlike my Cbr, the rear shocks though improved will have to see if they go well with my back on most of our jarring tarmac, the forward lean compared to the inty, how pronounced the wind could be on my helmet ( I’m pretty sure aftermarket windscreens would sort this sooner). They could’ve held onto the tank from SM650 though, for this 650 and that SM derived chassis in our country is meant to take on highways for the most part unlike an inty or gt. Also, only time will tell if the SG inherits the sprocket and rear disc hunger of the SM650. On a positive note, it definitely solves the upswept exhaust issue for carrying my saddlebags, does not burn the pillion’s footwear, better seating for the pillion compared to the inty, easier handling compared to SM650 in city. It sounds like it stands to the custom philosophy absorbing most of the good bits from the current lineup. Hope they price it close to the Inty🤞and I’m looking at that greyish black and the gorgeous white! Thanks Sarge! Appreciate your work!!
As always, a great analysis by Sarge, kudos !! Talking about fuel efficiency, i still feel 22kmpl is far less for this engine size. My 2015 Bonnie SE returns the same figures even being 67bhp and a far better ride. High time for RE to catch up on the engine refinement.

Side note: What is your opinion on upgrading from a Hunter 350 to a Hayabusa or a Street Triple 1200RS in the next 4-5 years? (Im currently 24, been driving the Hunter 350 for about 9 months)

This isn't the J platform bud. That's the 350cc engine in the hunter and classic 350. And the small tank is because this isn't actually meant to be a tourer, the supermeteor is!

I once rode a Conti Gt just after a fast run on a Duke 250. I felt the gt650 kept standing up in the corners. Difference was too stark compared to the duke tbh. So, it's due to too less rebound damping then ? This made me skip the 650 and go for the 2nd gen Duke. You shd share such technical bits too in the reviews, it helps us grow as riders 😁... Thxx

No offence but I personally feel this bike is for global market bcoz in India riding a 240 kg bike will be a hell lot of problem! People in India will prefer meteor 650 over shot gun....

This is a lot more comfortable compared to the supermeteor and while you will need to be a lil careful the ground clearance shouldn't be as much of an issue

You are scraping pegs because that's the amount of lean/speed you can carry in corners as it handles well. It's not a problem

Well seeing how good and smooth the himalayan 452's engine... There'll be no surprise if RE decides to reiterate classic Series -i.e making classic 450 keeping 350cc engine for standard varient and for hunter varients... What's your opinion on this Sarge sir? A Re Classic with 450cc engine and a liquid cool😅?? I'd like to see one in dark emrald green with golden engine strips... Reddish brown seat❤

No offence but I personally feel this bike is for global market bcoz in India riding a 240 kg bike will be a hell lot of problem! People in India will prefer meteor 650 over shot gun....

Sagar dada 😊❤......is this bike and even the super m. 650, made for Indian road conditions, especially considering the ground clearance and cruising comfort...😮
This is a lot more comfortable compared to the supermeteor and while you will need to be a lil careful the ground clearance shouldn't be as much of an issue
