This is a very good motorcycle for International Roads and a bad deal for Indian roads due to the low ground clearance and stiff suspension. Makes me feel RE is concentrating ONLY on the international market. Look wise, it is beefy Hunter
The shotgun is infact better suited for India than the supermeteor because it has much better suspension and while you will have to be a little careful, the ground clearance won't be as much of an issue when you dial in the required rear preload

Very informative review! RE has clearly made a brilliant chassis in the Super Meteor 650 and its potential seems to have been released in the SG650 with the shorter fork, shaper rake and wheel sizes closer to standard.

With the 240kg and raised seat height, lower wheel base, what is the effect on CG? The SM had overcome that issue in comparison to interceptor with a much lowered CG. I ride an inti…. And is a challenge at sudden stops at narrow corners. Otherwise I love it…
I had much expectation on shotgun 650, as a bobber bike And it failed as bobber Jawa 42 bobber is much better in terms of styling and looks Dislikes on shotgun 650 1. The lap between rare tyre and mud guard looks too odd 2. It should have come with spoke wheels 3.the silencer colour and the way it’s fat and up looks very bad 4. The gap between handle and tank we can see the chassie, the neck of the bike is too much exposed looks very odd 5. Bobber bikes are performance based vehicles and shotgun 650 is not and still offer less mileage 😢
Naah.. I think the GT and Interceptor is far better looking than this jack of all looks. Better than GT ? Man people are going to look at that cafe racer even after 20 years. *Even RE knows that. 😉

The state of tune is the same as the other variants but it has a different suspension setup and riding triangle, which makes it preferable in the range.

The pegs scraped because Sarge was able to carry more speed and stability into the corner and get an even deeper lean angle . That's raising a glass to SG's and Sarge's capabilities. It's not an issue tbh.

This isn't the J platform bud. That's the 350cc engine in the hunter and classic 350. And the small tank is because this isn't actually meant to be a tourer, the supermeteor is!
Have an inty black ray booking already and waiting to book this one as soon as the bookings open just cuz of the way it looks! RE takes a hell lot of time to deliver if I delay booking one. So book now, take a test ride later and decide 😁. Hoping this review provides a good preview of the machine!

If I can adapt to the way this machine has to be leaned into corners unlike my Cbr, the rear shocks though improved will have to see if they go well with my back on most of our jarring tarmac, the forward lean compared to the inty, how pronounced the wind could be on my helmet ( I’m pretty sure aftermarket windscreens would sort this sooner). They could’ve held onto the tank from SM650 though, for this 650 and that SM derived chassis in our country is meant to take on highways for the most part unlike an inty or gt. Also, only time will tell if the SG inherits the sprocket and rear disc hunger of the SM650. On a positive note, it definitely solves the upswept exhaust issue for carrying my saddlebags, does not burn the pillion’s footwear, better seating for the pillion compared to the inty, easier handling compared to SM650 in city. It sounds like it stands to the custom philosophy absorbing most of the good bits from the current lineup. Hope they price it close to the Inty🤞and I’m looking at that greyish black and the gorgeous white! Thanks Sarge! Appreciate your work!!

You are scraping pegs because that's the amount of lean/speed you can carry in corners as it handles well. It's not a problem
The pegs scraped because Sarge was able to carry more speed and stability into the corner and get an even deeper lean angle . That's raising a glass to SG's and Sarge's capabilities. It's not an issue tbh.

I honestly didn't get to try the pillion comfort on this ride but the shock is definitely much better than the one on the Supermeteor
