I know this review was done years ago but I just wanted to tell you how I appreciate you actually COOKING SOMETHING other than boiling water (which every TH-camr seems to do when they do a video field testing / reviewing the solo stove). Have been using the solo titan for years ... great job with the review ... well done ... subscribed!
That's it sold!! I've been researching for 3 days on which wood burning camping stove my girlfriend and I should take on our cross country trip, and this is it! Love your other videos. Very helpful
Excellent review video. I ordered the Titan with the pot. I watched your video and feel even better about my purchase. Want to spice up my backyard fun and eventually my next camping trip!
Just got a pleasant surprise, bought one Titan and got another free. I also bought the 1800 pot as my nod to Mors Kochanski's bush pot. I couldn't bring myself to use aluminum... enter the stainless steel Solo Stove Pot 1800.
I have the solo and titan, and want to get the big one, the campfire? I don’t know what it’s called. With all three you got a complete cooking set up for a family.
I have the smaller solo Stove. To be honest I would not say that it is forgiving. Unbelievable how fast this thing is burning twigs... But I agree easy to clean.
If you want it to keep going for longer burn times just add some charcoal briquettes to it and it'll definitely save you on constant fueling feed times when cooking 💪😎🤙
Just picked up a clone of the over priced Chinese solo titan. $23 for an exact copy. Wood pellets are imo the absolute best fuel for these stoves. I get 40 minutes or so out of 2 cups of pellets.
Nice Video! Do you have the same problem like me, that the pot is always kind of sticky/gluey? In my first try I used wood pellets and in the second try I used some sticks like you did in this video...the sticks were much better. I guess the pellets made the pot much more gluey because of the type of wood. I think in the pellets, a big part of them were pine wood...so you have more resin in it. What do you think about that "problem"? Do have some ideas for me to reduce the gluey black layer on the pot? I also testet some beech fire wood that was very well dryed, but the small sticks I've tested in the second try were even better that this wood. 😅 Thank you in advance! 👋
Probably from the pine. I typically will use that to get the fire going but burn other wood as fuel. Won’t hurt anything and probably can get it mostly off with steel wool.
I have the Solo 1800 pot Be aware it is almost paper thin by comparison to the the Zebra pots Yes much lighter than the Zebra but they do not cook as well The food sticks and burns and the steel discolors to blue if you are cooking on either a hot gas flame or a hot wood fire So I would strongly suggest a Zebra 14 cm to nest the Solo Stove It will be heavier but far far more robust
Hey Ben I am fifteen and live in Grand Rapids michigan I am in the process of making my own bugout bag. Your videos have really helped me put it together because none of my family feel the need to prepare. But anyways thanks for the awesome videos and I was wondering if you could do a video on a small survival kit.
Hey Ben, which stove do you like more and why ,solo titan or silverfire scout. Just wanted to get your opinion. I know someone who is interested in buying a stove.I don't have any experience with solo products. I have the silverfire scout and like mine but he is in between these two gassafier stoves. Thanks,Jeff
Question: How long does the exterior of the solo stove stay hot for after using it? Just considering if I were in a rush to go somewhere and needed to pack up, I'd hate to sit around waiting for it to cool off in order to even touch it.
@livingsurvival thanks for the video. Just picked one of these up as well and am looking forward to using it soon. Curious as to what lighter that was you used to start the fire? Thanks in advance.
anything you burn on a fire will have the burned look unless you scrub them really good when you get home. I generally will use dried leaves, grass or moss to clean the majority of soot off before I put it in the bag. the bags that come with these are nice because you can flip them inside out and just wipe them clean. typically i will scrub my pots with a scotch bright pad when i get home again just to remove the soot. i don't care that they blacken up ;)
silver fire is a great stove as well. i feel the solo stove is a bit more efficient and not as fussy. I prefer their pots to the MSR pan that nests with the silver fire. cant go wrong either way though.
I want to get one for a survival stove, it’s not heavy and it feeds more than me and my wife and that’s a huge plus, I don’t think I could tell somebody no in a survival situation, with me we all make it not one for all
How do you get all the burnt ash etc out after you have finished using it and wouldn’t it eventually fill up with ash, leaving little space to feed more fuel in?
Are you kidding me! multiple people from that pot??? i could eat 1 and a half of those pots worth of rice and potatoes. That pot is a solo pot man, unless you eat snack meals.
you know many people willing to pay $289 for a bonfire? The kind of person that maybe buys firewood in a bag. However....what was that seasoning you were using? And if you could potentially do a video of other campfire recipes, im sure they would be a big hit....SLAMMIN video!
Living Survival true. I live full time on the road. I know how it goes. I have a flame genie which is a third of the cost. Same gasifier principle. I'll wait until these go on sale.
Sorry to say but..... I hate seeing a product review when the product is shiny new There is a lack of credibility when you have not even used the product yet Please go away use it for a couple of months and show us a sooty creosoted pot and stove
Great stove, excellent pot. One critique, no onion, garlic or spices with the carrots and taters?? Dollar store has a New Orleans spice mix, good on about everything :-)

Enjoy.
I have a variety of stoves and pots but this set is by far my fav. even if I'm solo the vast majority of the time .
Just got a pleasant surprise, bought one Titan and got another free. I also bought the 1800 pot as my nod to Mors Kochanski's bush pot. I couldn't bring myself to use aluminum... enter the stainless steel Solo Stove Pot 1800.
your cooking skillz are SLAMMIN!
SLAMMIN!
Cool little stove and review! Outstanding meal you cooked up!
thanks.
You poured out the healthy and excellent hearty broth from the cooked veggies, just needed to add a pinch of salt and pepper :)
I like uour thinking. extra nutrients and liquids, got to make do when out camping
I've had the original stove for a few yeas and love it. Nice video.
yep, great stuff.
I have the solo and titan, and want to get the big one, the campfire? I don’t know what it’s called. With all three you got a complete cooking set up for a family.
Looks really great. Would be awesome if they made the pot in titanuim too. Cheers, Marc

Great review, what brand is the sautéed pan you cooked the salmon in?

@@livingsurvival steel wool...that's a god idea, thanks man! 😉💪
Once again I've been great Ben, Happy that you are also.......fine video on a fine product..........
thanks, audio sucked but figuring out the new camera ;)
I have the Solo 1800 pot

Solo stove is just as robust as a zebra pot. No issues after many uses.

i have a bunch of small kit videos. search my channel.
Thanks Ben. how long did it take you to get it up to a level that you could boil your water?
the stove gets going in minutes. boiling water takes 5 minutes or so after that. very quickly for a wood burning stove.
Hey Ben, which stove do you like more and why ,solo titan or silverfire scout. Just wanted to get your opinion. Really nice stove.I'll be checking them out. Thanks for sharing!
DO IT!
Great looking and functioning stove
Question: How long does the exterior of the solo stove stay hot for after using it? Just considering if I were in a rush to go somewhere and needed to pack up, I'd hate to sit around waiting for it to cool off in order to even touch it.
Not long. A few minutes once you dump the ash. Titanium is quicker but this one cools fast.
@@livingsurvival sweet. Thanks!
pine sap burns well but stays sticky too
Great review, it made my mouth water! 👍🏻
@livingsurvival thanks for the video. Just picked one of these up as well and am looking forward to using it soon. Curious as to what lighter that was you used to start the fire? Thanks in advance.
I love the original, great stove! I have to add this one as well.
After using it was it easy to clean the soot from the outside? ie did it clean up nice or have that burned outside look?
anything you burn on a fire will have the burned look unless you scrub them really good when you get home. I generally will use dried leaves, grass or moss to clean the majority of soot off before I put it in the bag. the bags that come with these are nice because you can flip them inside out and just wipe them clean. typically i will scrub my pots with a scotch bright pad when i get home again just to remove the soot. i don't care that they blacken up ;)
Nice .. Simple review buddy .. Saving for one now 👍
Does anyone pair the solo stove titan with a different cook set? Ex. Snow Peak or something titanium?
nice vid you recommend i get it for a camping trip??
for sure. if you have wood around it is the way to go. no using up alcohol or gas especially if you aren't on the move.
Absolutely, works as a hand warmer as well.
Can you fit a gas stove in the stove and contain it all in the bag?
an alcohol stove but not gas canister
How do you think these stoves compare to say the silver fire scout?
silver fire is a great stove as well. i feel the solo stove is a bit more efficient and not as fussy. I prefer their pots to the MSR pan that nests with the silver fire. cant go wrong either way though.
What stove do you think is better. This or the Firebox nano you just reviewed ?
Hows the stove now after years of use?
I want to get one for a survival stove, it’s not heavy and it feeds more than me and my wife and that’s a huge plus, I don’t think I could tell somebody no in a survival situation, with me we all make it not one for all
hello, how you take away the ashes
Love it!! Thanks
That is a nice stove bro great review 👍👍

Nice job Ben .
Which do you like best? The Solo or the 180 ?
Do you like the Solo Stove or the FireBox better?
hola, ¿cómo se quita las cenizas
How do you get all the burnt ash etc out after you have finished using it and wouldn’t it eventually fill up with ash, leaving little space to feed more fuel in?
Just dump it out.
Hey Ben I've been great, thanks for asking Ben, and how have you been Ben.
something my grandpa used to ALWAYS ask me
lol, grandfathers are awesome.
Living Survival how much was it and where did you buy it?
the prices for the different stoves are listed on their website, it depends on the model and if you get the pot as well. link is in the description.
Nice unit, Thanks Ben.
how long does it take to get hot enought to cook?
Another excellent review.
Good looking stove!
thanks.
Awesome I going to check it out!!!
Never had much luck with pine cones in mine they just smoke
Are you kidding me! multiple people from that pot??? i could eat 1 and a half of those pots worth of rice and potatoes. That pot is a solo pot man, unless you eat snack meals.
Good for you.

there are many places where you can't have a bonfire.
Living Survival true. I live full time on the road. I know how it goes. I have a flame genie which is a third of the cost. Same gasifier principle. I'll wait until these go on sale.
thanks for the info, good stuff.!
thanks.
looks never used when you pulled it out
I love these wood burning stoves
loved this video
ball bearings and mule paste mostly
Awesome review.
How are you Ben?
been good
looks good
Sorry to say but.....

Because I clean it when I return home and this is the third one I’ve had. Get educated before you embarrass yourself with a comment.
Great stove, excellent pot.
One critique, no onion, garlic or spices with the carrots and taters??

slammin
Everyone has watched these on TH-cam and just copied it.
I dare you to make soup.
Boil water, boil water Jesus Christ
