"Heh! It worked!" One of my oft repeated phrases. Looks like a good project. I ordered a trailer in Feb 2021 and it took until November for it to be delivered, so repairing a trailer is s great way to get one faster.
I would love to see a price comparison on purchasing new VS rebuilding like you did. With the prices of a 7x14 single axle (in my area) going for $7000 - I'll bet this rebuild is looking like a better option now. I do remember that not that long ago, if you wrecked an enclosed trailer to the extent of the one you show in this video, it was always cheaper to scrap it and buy a new one. Thanks for making this video...
Prices have definitely changed a lot since rebuilding this trailer. I live in northwest Montana and it is an expensive place to purchase trailers as well.
So how would I cut a trailer door so that instead of the toy hauler door in the back end it can become the whole side of the trailer over the wheel axles and then put leveling jacks underneath and make it as a deck for when it's opened
Hmm, that would be tricky lol. I have seen some trailers with sides that open vertically, so I assume it could be done, but it would take a lot of reinforcement..
Hey billy I have a trailer It leaning to one side and smells like a burning smell when driving I think it might be the axel how would I tell or even start to fix it
I would first check the tire clearance on all tires and see if it is visibly rubbing? If not, it may be internal on one of the hub assemblies-an inexpensive temperature gun should indicate which one is faulty after a short drive with it?
Just curious as to where you bought your parts I have one damaged in the front similar to yours but all the sheet panels I have found are way expensive.. Seems it would have been a lot cheaper just to buy a trailer that fit your needs.

Haha. Bummer! Yeah, the timing ended up working out pretty well on this one 👍

Where do you get the replcement pannels for the sides and cornors
I had the corners custom built at a local metal shop. I ordered the side paneling from Amazon believe it or not!
Whered u get your replacement nose??? I can't find one anywhere! Any suggestions?
I actually had a local metal supply shop bend it to my specific angles out of aluminum diamond plate and cut it to fit 👍
Where you get the aluminum I
Pacific steel and recycling. A local company we purchase all of our metal from.
Wicked damage hope it wasnt expensive to acquire
Only paid $1300 for it 👍
@@billygrossjr.5585 do you have a source for the proper silicone used on the exterior joints? I need to reseal top to bottom
@@brentvonaschen7064 It actually isn't silicone. It is called VHB tape from 3M. There are a few different kinds of it, but it seems to be solid stuff.

Most of the parts I ordered from Amazon actually. The structural metal I purchased locally though
How much did you pay for it?
Why do you have the comments turned off on #3 and #4 ?
My bad, I’ll try to change that. Thanks for letting me know. I got it for $1300!
theres nothing to save
