@HeadBassVTEC to give some more context it got more gouged where it fell which was directly onto a rock or root jutting out that was directing all force into a small point.. It didn't just hit a flat surface or some regular type impact, all the energy ended up concentrated at just the wrong location. Think of it like getting hit by the end of a chisel, the chisel is going to have all the energy on its point, hence why it does what it does
If it makes you feel any better, I saw a video where someone cracked the downtube on a Santa Cruz or a Specialised (can't recall which) about a year ago where a dude flicked up a tiny rock with the front tyre and it cracked it. You just have to get extremely unlucky. Carbon is extremely strong until the very moment it's not from specific hits at specific angles. You just have to get very unlucky.
so that intro "accident" cracked the frame?
I was considering the 7000 but not sure now...seems these things are quite fragile
