Glad they actually set Laenor free, they had me there for a min not gonna lie. Laenor wasn't built for this game of thrones, he is best suited for adventure. Like u guys guessed, they used the body of the guard that Daemon killed
Right?!? I got so nervous cause like " omg what did they just do??" And daemon and rhaenyra and daemon made up for it by setting him free so now both rhaenyra and laenor can with with the one they love, which is a nice touch, makes feel better about them
@@TheAOTSdude They can always change some bits from the book since the source of that history is not that RELIABLE. Remember, this is merely based on a history book. So a lot of things could be altered such as character’s actual death. They changed Laena’s and now Leanor’s. I think it’s a good move since we are supposedly watching the ACTUAL STORY and not just what the HISTORY had led us to believe. Heck they might even change Rhaenyra’s death since it was already hinted by Jeoffrey. I don’t think the show runners would just settle on that “spoiled death” of the main character.
The King still hanging in there with his health and the stress from his family during that time period is the craziest part 😂. He said he’s goin 15 rounds with death.
Viserys is the real tragedy of the show just dealing with all this shit 🤣 at this point he wants every body part that has witnessed a fault in the lineage lol
Not sure if it was like a flashback, but he had a voiceover in the trailer for NEXT WEEK. I sometimes worry what kind of world those kids are going to leave for Viserys.
Notice how the moves Laenor and Carl were doing while they were "fighting" were the same moves they were practicing in the courtyard. Only this time, Ser Carl actually landed that punch, so that the kid would see it was real.
Good catch. Didn't notice that before. Also Laenor came into the hall wearing his sword. I don't recall ever seeing with a sword besides the war in the Stepstones. That shows he came to the hall ready for a "confrontation".
I love Vhagar’s reactions to Aemond. I love it that she’s basically testing the waters with him, and that side eye she gives him when he’s telling her to fly. I hope we get to see more personality in the dragons later on into the series
Such a good episode 👏 Rhaenyra getting Daemon to kill Laenor so they could marry each other by getting Laenors lover to kill Laenor right after he said he was finally gonna be there for Rhaenyra was really some next level writing like multiple twists. THEN the epic twist/reveal of Laenor being alive and being apart of it mind fucked the hell out of me. I'm so happy with this show 10/10

What a lot of people don’t realize is daemon is about that life he will fight when ever where ever and once he married rhaenyra in the books anybody that messed with his children or hers found out why he was the most feared warrior in that time
Daemon is that wild card every player of the game wants. The sheer power he possesses - as a warrior, as a dragonrider, and as a man. When the Dance actually begins, we will see why he is someone everyone fears. Even the combined strengths of Otto, Criston and Aemond - all formidable players - won't be enough to match Daemon.
The visual storytelling (with the actors mannerisms) is one of the best shows I’ve seen. So much more that is being “said” by just the facial expressions.
I love how they made her a dragon dreamer in the show tbh it’s been years since I read the book I honestly don’t remember if it was ever mentioned in the book 🤔
Isn't it ironic (and delicious) that Daemon is the only character who has been right about everything since ep 1? Like he said it, Otto is playing for his own house, can't trust him, I would protect you Viserys, from your own weakness. He warned Rhaenyra in ep 4 that the public's opinion is what matters. He asked to marry Rhaenyra but was refused based on false assumption that he wanted the throne even though he never wanted to be involved in court (one of his first lines was that the court bored him), then he warned Rhaenyra that she and Laenor would not be a good couple, then he told Rhaenyra in this ep to stop being so naive about Otto and Alicent, ETC ETC. Like everyone, stop what you are doing and LISTEN TO DAEMON for once! :D
Daemon has the advantage of being an "outsider" observing the machinations of power going on around him. Fresh eyes can see what eyes clouded by emotions cannot.
Really loved the scene where Aemond claimed Vhagar. Like that was so beautiful and the child actor really portrayed him wonderfully! The pure joy on his face when he rode the dragon and the thrill of soaring through the skies on the largest dragon? Such a good execution!! Ngl, was really rooting for him at that moment but then.... The Aemond later on in the story... SCARES ME. ;-;
This episode was soooooooo good. I'm kinda sad this is the last time we are seeing young Aemond because he was so good in this episode. I like being able to cheer for who I like at the time instead of being on one side all the time. For example, I still really like Alicent but I always tend to like female villains. I'm also glad they didn't actually kill Laenor, I would have been really upset.
Agreed about Laenor. I was pissed until the very end and realized they were all in on the plan to get him and Qarl out so Rhaenyra could have a “real husband”. Bravo to those child actors as well! And Olivia Cooke…good god she is bringing her A-game.
My new favorite episode, the scenes with the children, the adults, the dragon, the infighting, the tension, yeah!! this was good. Edit: No this episode was fantastic!!
@Supriya Mukherjee remember the book is narrated by historians/maesters who have biases. ;) In a nutshell, the maesters heard Laenor died so they wrote about it. But the truth is only with the ones who set up his 'death'
i dont like the ending, it makes rheynera the good guts and alicent the bad guy.( even tho daemon and rhenera kill a innocent man, it still a nobody character)
I like that Cole stated "As your protector" in front of everyone and refused to carry out Alicent's vengeance. Surprised Aemond had so much energy to fight after screaming for like 15 - 20 mins straight and hanging on for dear life at what-hundred ft in the air. Also, the bald head suits Laenor for sure. ("Yuh doh affi dread to be rasta..." 🎵)
The conflict after the Vhaegar flight was so intense through out. Haven't read the book but I'll bet Alicent's kids will raise lots of trouble, not to mention Alicent herself
but just imagine if he didn't fight with the other kids and kept his cool, he'd kept both his eye and his new dragon! I wish it hadn't but power went to his head as soon as he claimed currently the biggest/oldest dragon alive, he started picking on his bullies, just as they did on him, he was tired of being slighted by others and that cost him his eye in that slight altercation!
Aemon will go on to be a very important and interesting character in the Dance of the Dragon in later seasons. He and Daemon will be the two most powerful dragon riders and ally to the Greens and the blacks respectively.
The funeral scene was amazing, not to much dialogue, but you could sense what the characters were feeling internally and towards each other by the acting, the looks at each other, and the shots
Them kids jumping Aemond's ass was the highlight for me. Feel bad for Baela and Rhaena though. They probably grew up with Vhagar around and to see her with his punk ass is definitely hard for them.
The lighting, or lack there of, is one of my favorite parts of this show. For me personally, the darkness of those scenes makes them feel more real. I can understand how it could not work for some people, but I like it. Great episode!
Put aside the episode itself I am still confused as to why this episode isn't titled "Family Issues" or "Everyone On This Show Has A Problem"😂 Jokes aside this episode was fantastic! Alicent put me on edge so much man...
The stage is set for the Dance Of Dragons, all that is needed is the spark to set the stage on fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥! No tv show should be able to have SO MUCH plot happen in just 1 hour, have that plot be amazing, and still have time for it to give the actors time to shine, even in the poorly lit night scenes.
The change from the book for that ending twist was amazing, it still keeps the perceive event as it is while still surprising both readers and non readers of the source material 👍
The misdirect at the end ❤. They made you think Rhaenyra was going to kill Leanor, but in truth the whole thing was a stage. Daemon kills a random guy and they use that body as Laenor’s body. The word play in that scene was masterfully done.
It is telling tho, that so many initially easily believed that her killing him was something that she could do. Which she probably could, she just didnt this time. If only because of his earnest recommitance to her and the kids. It did take me til the end to realize that the body was the guards.
Viserys: The Gods can be cruel Daemon: They’ve been especially cruel to you… The fact that we know what he means is great 😂😂😂 Aemond’s flying scene with Vhagar was beautiful!
Things we learned in this episode: -Aegon knew Rhaenyra's kids are bastards but he was still cool with them -Jacaerys is really vulnerable to kicks on his mid-section -Aemond is epic. The real rogue prince.
This episode is by far the best one. That family fight amongst the children then escalating to the adults was amazing. The tension between both Families and both the queen and the king. See criston defending the queen and I was nervous that the king was going to get the commander to step in and stop ser criston then you see daemon step in and protect rhaeneyra against ser criston. This is the type of drama that happens in real families that starts with children (obviously not to this extent of violence) but this drama and hatred towards these families is only going to grow and not go away because of this event. Then obviously the plot twist ending. One of the best episodes I have ever seen.
I love this show because it isn’t completely like the book history is different in the eyes of whoever wrote it so they can actually get away with changing things in the show which is great history isn’t completely reliable.
Every episode keeps getting better and better! No matter what side you’re rooting for, the show always reminds you that there are no good guys in this world 😂
They kinda copped out by letting Daemon and Rhaenyra allow Laenor to live. That puts too much good guy light in Team Black's corner. If they wanted to keep some grey in it they would have stuck with the Laenor's assassination being real.
@@kharilane1340 I disagree with them killing Leanor would have been better. Rhaenarya doesn’t want to lose her kindness, that’s why she allowed Leanor being his lover with them last episode.
Ewan Mitchell was STELLAR in his role from "The Last Kingdom" and when I saw him in the ep. 8 preview as older Aemond I was so excited!! Can't wait for this episode, and Ewan's performance!
The guy that Daemon killed on the stairs in the hall was the one that they used as the burnt body. I love that they didn’t actually kill him 🥰🥰🥰 it makes me love them so much more. If Viserys had just let them get married when Daemon asked and it was so obvious that they were in love … sigh so much trouble could have been avoided if Viserys had been a stronger wiser king 😕 Best episode ever - they just keep getting better and better 🥰🥰🥰 love your guys’ commentary ✌️
@Supriya Mukherjee That’s because the books were written by maesters and spies like Mushroom who didn’t know the real story. They didn’t even tell his own mother so of course the dominant story is what made it into the historical accounts. 🙂
@Supriya Mukherjee how would he actually know if he wasn’t there and there WAS a burnt beyond recognition body. It absolutely makes so much sense that there were things that were kept secret and so the commonly held story went into the books. It’s not like we know everything that went down in our own histories so why would it be different in Westeros? Often reality is far different from the history books as we all know. And since Daemon and Rhaenyra sons eventually sit the Iron throne it makes absolute sense that the writers of history would not wish to anger them perhaps as history is written by the victors.
@@vince7520 Yeah - not so stoked about that little necessity but I do love his ruthlessness and ability to do what is necessary to secure the future he wants. There is something about that that is dynamic and fascinating even if slightly maniacal.
I'm pretty sure that the scene with Rhaenyra and Daemon standing on the beach is the first picture we got from this series, back when they were still filming
7 4 7. So many good things about this one. Loved that tiny moment with Viserys calling Alicent "Aemma". The way they showed the room naturally splitting between the "Greens" and the "Blacks"...so good. Smug Otto seeing this as a game...which is kind of weird to me when all is said and done, because everything everyone knows has been Targaryen rule. If they have been playing this game, they've been losing for hundreds of years.
Its a game because they have Targaryen children now lol. Alicents kids are all trueborn Targs with full dragons blood magic. So they are now in the game.
@@xerozeven if they win, they gain control of the narrative of history. Their ruler (aegon 2) will go down in history among the dynasty of kings wheras Rheanyra will be seen a horrendous person, a defeated traitor princess. Maegor with Teats. But that was the game lol. that was the point of playing. To make their narrative dominant and their king go down in history while denying anyone else from being viewed as ruler or legitimate
This episode is brilliant. I watch it twice and caught so much more the second time around. Giving Laenor his freedom and giving the Princess a strong husband who actually wants to be involved was brilliant. I’m glad they let him live. ❤️
This episode was great! All that tension spilling over. Kids going off. An eye taken out. I was cheering for the kids fighting. Oooo that was done so well.
The books were written in a way like it's a record of history. And in there, as everyone in the realm knows that Laenor really died. Of course we couldn't be sure. The prevailing theory was that Daemon killed him so that he can marry Rhaenyra.
@@marti9734 I'm a bit disappointed too. I was hoping they'd be more balanced. The books were not clear with many things and left them subject to interpretation or to theories, but they were clear with one thing. That both sides did very despicable things in order to get what they want.
The book was composed in the POV of two very different people, it's not supposed to be seen as accurate. It's kinda like a bard singing a song of a battle or king's life - literally one of accounts was from Mushroom the jester, who claimed he totally slept with Rhaenyra too. Like a lot of medieval accounts, GRRM made it clear that its supposed to be unreliable narration. So technically speaking what we are watching is what actually happened, and then Fire & Blood is the propaganda after the fact.
@@emmaatkinson7379 Everyone who read the books know that many of its content were from accounts from different sources. I didn't say it's supposed to be accurate. What I said is just a fact. In the books, it was recorded in their history as written by Archamester Gyldayn that Laenor died. It was left to the speculation of the reader to think how he really died. Of course the prevailing theory then was that Daemon killed him because he was the direct benefactor of Laenor's death. There was no clue at all that they faked his death. Of course now we know that they're building up Rhaenyra as the main "Heroine" of this story so they're afraid to have her do something bad. Even in reality they still committed murder. Also, a lot of what was written in the books werent just accounts from two POVS. Many were just known facts that even Archsmaester Gyldayn and Mushroom agreed on and corroborated by other sources. It's also going to be confusing if we're gonna treat the show as the "real canon" because it was written in the book that Rhaenyra and Alicent has a big age gap like 8 years. Are we supposed to just believe that all the maesters and other people in the realm who records history made that huge blunder?
Yeah he is a little prick and totally the one that Rhaenyra should be worried about. He is too smart for his own good. The way he blamed his dim older brother to stop from betraying His mom was pretty genius and then how he stopped the fight by rubbing in the fact that he got the biggest dragon in Westeros was straight villainous. That boy is not to be trifled with… and she should have had him killed if she wanted to secure her throne. Rhaenyra had too much of her father’s kindness in her in the end … it’s all so so sad. 😢
@@ellesilverwolf4571 Rhaenyra doesn't exactly have much ground to stand on though. Her calling it high treason is very rich considering she has committed high treason 3 times in everyoens faces now, and she just got back from doing it a 4th time. And they did bully him and they are bastards so he is correct. They have no inherent right to the Vhagar, Aemond bonded with her fair and square, to attack him for it is wrong. To attack him as 4 is even more wrong, and to attack him with a knife is inexcusable.
@@vergil8833 Oh yes I definitely agree with the fact that they are bastards and that he was correct in his statement but that doesn’t make the way he behaved at all ok - I lay all of it at the feet of King Viserys to be honest and last episode I even commented that he should have been firmer with Rhaenyra about the parentage of her children. Were I the King I would have given her the opportunity to abdicate as heir in favor of her true born brother. I would have had a long discussion with her and said that I realize it isn’t your fault but especially due to the prophecy we need to maintain the integrity of the throne. When you are in that position it isn’t about how you feel about your family or children - it is about maintaining the crown and making sure that the establishment passes on to the next generation to provide - hopefully - stability in the realm. Weak Kings are responsible for more wars I\in history I swear. Anyway, yes - you are right that she definitely was in the wrong but it is absolutely also understandable that she did so as a mother all things considered. Also she would never abdicate unless her father willed it so she has to protect the throne as best she could despite definitely having had bastards. The fact of the matter is that in a real kingdom with a bloodline that is so distinctive those children would never have been permitted to remain at court and would have been fostered out to far flung houses to raise as their own and it would have been said that they died and that would have ha;penned until she had a true born heir. Truth. It has historically happened on a number of documented occasions. Anyway I agree but the kid also was being an absolute jerk and threatening to kill his cousins and got violent with weapons first. This was all made worse as well considering that his cousins Mom had just died and I think you need permission to claim a dragon. Not sure about that last but still…
Main thing I love about this show is it doesn't force you to choose a side, it presents 2 sides and gives them both flaws and strengths and you get to choose who u root for. No hero's and villains, just Grey
Alicent has overflown with bitetrness and is doing bad things because of it, but if we're to find a root for all the problems it is Rhaenyra and her exploitation of Viserys weakness. What do you think Alicent should do when she and everyone are being so disrespected for so long? It's unreasonable to expect that from Alicent, especially since it isn't actually right. Royals are supposed to follow the rules because if they don't then the people have no reason to do so either. The people has no reason to accept the rule of a royal who does not follow his or hers own rules. To excuse Rhaenyra yet again is to burden the people as a whole with "being the bigger person". It will obviously crash and burn. If Rhaenyra just didn't have bastards and didn't try to force everyone into believing they're legitimate then obviously Alicent would be more forgiving. But you are asking Alicent to give all the ground. Why are so many people telling the people who have done all the right things to sacrifice but not the ones who ahve cheated everything? Daemon and Rhaenyra are not good people. Alicent was.
@@vergil8833 Shut up Alicent literally lied and went behind Rhaenyra's back to seduce Viserys as soon as Rhaenyra;s mother died. AND never told Rhaenyra. Alicent acts self righteous but she was never right. She is wrong at the outset -- courting your best friend's dad for 6 months?? How honorable is that?? GTFO. Alicent is the biggest asshole. And Viserys should not have married her -- he's actually the cause of all this problem. Rhaenyra is only doing what other Kings have done, fathering bastards upon bastards. This storyline is showing that while some people are angry about it, a lot of people are letting it go or turning away -- until dumbass Alicent keeps bringing it back into the spotlight. Not everyone feels as upset by it, which is why so many people are backing Rhaenyra (they're realizing it's a backwards rule that is unevenly applied to women). The books have a historical perspective and many important moments have multiple explenations. This part of the book is based on testimonies from a court fool, and a septon. It's pretty obvious that nobody would tell those two about what actually happened to Laenor, so the books only say that those two fought, Laenor died, and the other guy was never seen again. On top of that this entire season adapts events from a single chapter.

Gotta say. Still absolutely loving the show - and I don’t dislike Emma D’arcy as Rhaenyra, I think she’s doing great. But I do find myself missing Milly Alcock in the role at times. Maybe I’m still just not fully used to Emma yet, and it makes sense the character would feel a bit different and matured ten years later. Just feels like it’s missing a bit of the charisma that Milly brought. And I think Milly’s chemistry with Daemon/Matt was a bit better and more believable (in a disturbing way).
Team Green on this one. I watched and re-watched that fight. Those 4 kids attacked Aemond first. In fact most of the fight, the only time he struck back was to get them off of him. He didn't hit anyone with a rock until AFTER Jacerys pulled a knife. Then they took advantage when he looked away. In the end, my man stopped a fight between Alicent and Rhaenyra by telling her it was a fair trade for a dragon. Aemond is MVP.
25:06 well the book is written like a historic account that reviewed diaries of 2 witnesses, so the show has a lot of freedom without contradicting the book, as lack of sufficient evidence and biases easily lead to all kind of false assumptions in hisotry books
If you enjoy Olivia Cooke's work I HIGHLY recommend the Amazon Original mini series of "Vanity Fair." Olivia plays the lead character Becky. 20x better than the 2000s movie
When Daemon cracked some guy's neck I was like WHAT WAS THAT FOR? so when the body was in the fire it was clear to me it wasn't Laenor. Happy to see he made it and hopefully he lives a much better life away from this place
Alicent has become almost like a begrudging Cersei-like character. I love it. She witnessed the power at her disposal, the sheer efficiency and speed of it! And she in no way abuses it, or even, really wants it! "If an eye is needed my queen..." and she says NO! I think the most powerful of her scenes was from younger Alicent, though. When Otto was sternly saying his intentions and his forseeing of events to her in the rain, as he was on his way out, Alicent was frozen. She wasn't crying, she was just, in a kind of stressed out trance. Similar to someone who has difficulty with people reacts to some social situations. It's a realistic interpretation of how a teenager would react to having that much responsibility placed on them. A part of her probably not even understanding it, that her best friend could kill her children etc. Her perhaps still innocent mind would not grasp it fully, and that is in part due to Otto's somewhat disappointed facial expressions. Wow this show.
yea and what about rhaenyra? were she not placed upon with such heavy responsibilities as well? stop projecting your own life onto alicent. just say you are a loser

Glad they actually set Laenor free, they had me there for a min not gonna lie. Laenor wasn't built for this game of thrones, he is best suited for adventure. Like u guys guessed, they used the body of the guard that Daemon killed
Right?!? I got so nervous cause like " omg what did they just do??" And daemon and rhaenyra and daemon made up for it by setting him free so now both rhaenyra and laenor can with with the one they love, which is a nice touch, makes feel better about them
I so want to see him and Carl come to the rescue when Rhaenyra needs them most.

that caught me off guard as that is not how in happened in the book. Curious if it will effect anything in the future.
Ikr…. I’m surprised how Viserys didn’t have a heart attack by the amount of drama he faces in his life.

Every episode from now on will be a guessing game of what limbs does the King have left lol
Notice how the moves Laenor and Carl were doing while they were "fighting" were the same moves they were practicing in the courtyard. Only this time, Ser Carl actually landed that punch, so that the kid would see it was real.
Yeah it was a neat touch. I chalked up Laenor's moves to him just not being that great but nope they were literally choreographed.
Good catch. Didn't notice that before. Also Laenor came into the hall wearing his sword. I don't recall ever seeing with a sword besides the war in the Stepstones. That shows he came to the hall ready for a "confrontation".

Helaena when Alicent tells Aemond he will have his own dragon. “He’ll have to close an eye first.”
Technically she was wrong cause he rode Vhagar with two eyes first lol but still
I love how they made her a dragon dreamer in the show tbh it’s been years since I read the book I honestly don’t remember if it was ever mentioned in the book 🤔
True
Daemon has the advantage of being an "outsider" observing the machinations of power going on around him. Fresh eyes can see what eyes clouded by emotions cannot.
for real
Pft. Daemon cares about one single person and that is: Daemon.
Really loved the scene where Aemond claimed Vhagar. Like that was so beautiful and the child actor really portrayed him wonderfully! The pure joy on his face when he rode the dragon and the thrill of soaring through the skies on the largest dragon? Such a good execution!! Ngl, was really rooting for him at that moment but then....
The Aemond later on in the story...

Aemond is easily one of my favorite characters from the Dance. Yes Ik what happens to him but he’s just a menace and love that about him.
This episode was soooooooo good. I'm kinda sad this is the last time we are seeing young Aemond because he was so good in this episode.

The books were written in a way like it's a record of history. And in there, as everyone in the realm knows that Laenor really died. Of course we couldn't be sure. The prevailing theory was that Daemon killed him so that he can marry Rhaenyra.
the showrunners aren't hiding their favoritism anymore... honestly Im kinda disappointed

Main thing I love about this show is it doesn't force you to choose a side, it presents 2 sides and gives them both flaws and strengths and you get to choose who u root for. No hero's and villains, just Grey
Team Alicent here; Team Rhaenyra can eat and survive on all the dust in Westeros
Alicent has overflown with bitetrness and is doing bad things because of it, but if we're to find a root for all the problems it is Rhaenyra and her exploitation of Viserys weakness. Modern sensibilities makes her a bit more sympathetic since we know shes not doing all these selfish things just to spite everyone around her, how bad can sleeping around be, right? But in this world she is really ruining the lives of everyone around her for selfish reasons.
@@vergil8833 While I agree that Rhaenyra has been the "cause" of all the issues, Alicent is the one that not only continuously escalating things - she's also the one that refuses to do any negotiating that would most definitely prevent almost everything coming from happening.
@@Helldog6 Alicent hasn't done much considering Rhaenyra has continued to commit high treason in public while gaslighting everyone with the help of Viserys. What do you think Alicent should do when she and everyone are being so disrespected for so long? If Alicent was more forgiving then she would have to help Rhaenyra lie, the same woman who has lied to her for a decade, the same lie that got her father fired.
Good thing Alicent and all her children are gonna die off because they're the ones who actually commit treason and destruction in the end.
I really liked Aemond haha! Or maybe I just liked the actor. Wish we got to see more of him.
I liked him too. I actually was glad he was able to get Vhagar even though it was supposed to be Baelas?
@@SE-gs6gd Vhagar wasn't suppose to be Baelas... Vhagar is a FREE dragon. Parentage doesn't matter shit. She made her choice and she choose Aemond, the end
@@marti9734 I agree vhagar chose aemond because of his daringness and bravery to claim her despite being scared as hell
@@marti9734 yes
@@marti9734 Vhagar only choose Aemond because she went crazy killing Laena
This episode reminds me so much of the season 1 episode of GOT The Kingsroad with the kids fighting and poor Robert was just like Viserys he just wanted it over with but a crazy Queen wouldn't let it go.
I like that according to history Laenor died in Driftmark, but in actuality he ran off to be free. I wonder what other characters the maesters got wrong.
@Supriya Mukherjee Because they didn't know he ran off, all the maesters knew and recorded was that he was killed.
@@latishabuckner8231 Dident they find his body? Was some time ago I read it but think the book is pretty clear on the fact he is dead.....

Best episode and loved it in the end when they showed lenor alive...i was like yes....
I knew rahnerya and daemon will have it planned well..they won't kill him ...
That's the different between alicent and them😶
Now lenor can live his life as he wants with that guy
"That's the different between alicent and them😶"
Are you even watching the show? Rhaenyra and Daemon killed the servant to make it look like Laenor died, plus Daemon killed Rhea, his first wife with the horse.
Alicent and Otto have yet to call for anyones murder, as Larys murder his kin to become the lord of Harrenhal by his own.
Rhaenyra is shown as the protagonist, but people should use their brain a little, holy fuck!
That last scene with Leanor leaving was really unexpected
Man imma miss paddy bruh he played the heck outta his character
He finally told them to stfu!!!
Vaeghar landing reminded me of Drogon landing next to her mother before burning all the slave ships
Oh yeahh man i miss those moments with Dany😭
This show and Andor are my favorites to watch right now. So good!
Aemond was a jerk but that doesn't justify letting Rhaenerya's son taking the eye.
exactly, it was obvious he was defending himself by insulting them (typical kid behavior) also I noticed that he also looked abashed and holding back in two occasions...
Taking an eye out? (NOT typical kid behavior) also 4 against 1? really?
@@marti9734 this action shows that Rhaenerya's side isn't all that good.
@@marti9734 thats why I love Aemond so much in this episode. He bonded with the biggest dragon alive and also fought off 4 kids in the same night, what a badass.

Pretty sure that was Aemonds fault for being a bitch and taking something that wasn’t his and hitting girls.
He bucked they knucked 😎

@@seanking1775aha so mister Sean King, do you like Alicent's half breeds better? 😂😂😂😂
13:30 Not only was Alicent ready to attack Lucreys, Criston Cole was going to maim an 8YO kid out of spite for his mother. I think we just saw the Kingsguard fracture there too.
I mean giving the time period its set in nothing out of the ordinary...and eye for an eye, you know
the fracture especially between ser harrold westerling and ser cristian cole; they glance at each other before cristan cole moves to attack rhaenyra's kids, gotta love how daemon immediately steps in to her side to subdue cristian cole
Agreed!! F**k Alicent and Cole 🗣FOREVER!! Alicent was relieved that Aemond didn't "verbally " give her up but Viserys knew. I'm so intrigued with Helaena. I wonder what her dialougue regarding the spider was about.
@@OcGurl81 i am quite surprised he said aegon's name instead of saying mother told me; but lingering look toward alicent from aegon even caused viserys to look at alicent; her dread was tangible, she felt as if her own son will expose her to her enemies? otto praising alicent's rage and ruthlessnes was crazy.
@@Reddy315 I wasn't surprised bc Aemond's allegiance to his mother bc he has been teased by his brother and cousins, comforted by his mother as she pours her bs hateful into him. This kid never stood a chance! He's filled with so much vengance, anger, and rage but mainly from his mother. Alicent didn't pour anything good into this child and he's about to act a fool. Rhaenyra & Daemon's kids can fight and would not back down👏🏾
OMG SO EXCITED!! The ending was a masterpiece.. without giving any spoilers this was the PERFECT SETUP... I know exactly how they will bring Ser Laenor back and I am HERE FOR IT!!! When it happens its going to be F'ing HILARIOUS!!! ALICENT WILL LOSE IT!!

Thank you so much for not spoiling rest of what happens with Laenor's character❤️
Unless they plan to deviate massively from the book, Laenor doesn’t come back. In the books, he’s dead and is never seen again
Adum of Hull I'm thinking? But he was like really young and straight... So I don't know.
The first to post their reaction as always!! Thanks guys.
The quickest reviewers in Westeros!!!!
"Driftmark" is the best episode of the season so far. Miguel Sapochnik directing it proves his talent.
Agreed!!!
I just hate that its too dark and he didn't get creative with moon lighting
Would be nice if he could direct a night episode that didn't have shit lighting though
@@musicsoul4037 it’s more realistic though
@@ragnarok283 it wouldn't hurt to put some creativity with the moon light though. like a beam of moonlight focusing on the dragon.
What a breath of fresh air it is to see reactors who actually have a genuine reaction and an intelligent conversation afterwards.
Doesn't Laenor's dragon know there has been a switcheroo or is it just hovering above a tiny fishing boat in the sea ?
The books have a historical perspective and many important moments have multiple explenations. This part of the book is based on testimonies from a court fool, and a septon. It's pretty obvious that nobody would tell those two about what actually happened to Laenor, so the books only say that those two fought, Laenor died, and the other guy was never seen again. On top of that this entire season adapts events from a single chapter.
The body in the fireplace belongs to the guy whose neck Daemon snapped in the scene just before the"fight"
I'm happy that Laenor at least gets a happy ending
Wow! this episode! Even Grogu was floored by it🔥
This is the best episode. Everything is great from visuals to music to acting to dialogues to everything 🤯🤯🤯🤯
To be fair Aemond only defended himself. He didn't attack first, they did. And he whooped all of them too.
I hate this because lord knows this was exactly what happened to jon snow in which guys would verbally pick on him and he would defend himself and everyone would be on his side. If you're going to talk shit, you can't expect people not to respond, he was talking shit, they beat his ass, he was literally going to strangle and smash one of their heads in with a rock, talking about feeding them to dragons, and he lost his eye for it but he gained a mighty dragon so honestly the matter should have ended there. That was fair for fair, he used their grief as an opportunity to claim Vaghar and they squabbled over it
Oto said "good job...now reel that shyt in"
Had to check for this reaction after watching this crazy episode 😂
Me too lol
Poor viserys can’t catch a break😂 so excited to see what Aemond becomes
he becomes an evil asshole
Alicent... Jealous... Self-righteousness... Believing to be entitled. Bad parenting.... Is it just me or did even Aemond look at her sideways, realizing what his sister said was true?( "But now they see you as you are") Her and Criston from last episode to present are willing to let the children hurt one another, children... and then you see Rhaenyra and her kids and even the cousins in contrast. Queen's behaviour caused a very negative ripple effect, so sad.
Rhaenyra and Daemon slept with each other at Laena's funeral! They are disrespectful. Aemond claimed Vhagar fair and square and all the kids attacked him. Rhaenyra's kids are bastards, Alicent is not jealous, but follows the rules. Rhaenyra and Daemon and Leanor had an innocent guard killed, but you have no problem with that I guess.
@@tsheporabekane4172 L
@@tsheporabekane4172 lmao you gotta be trolling. Vhagar wasn't Aemond's to claim 💀. She was supposed to be passed down to Laena's daughters and bro stole her. He gets bullied for not having a dragon then steals someone else's, then when the get angry about it he starts assaulting his female cousins. Glad he lost his eye
@@jeremiahsmith7706: That's where you're wrong, Aemond was assaulted first, lol. They ganged up on him 4 on 1. We cannot assume that Vhagar was going to accept the daughter, dragons don't work like that. Vhagar accepted Aemond because he was brave, dragons accept a rider that fits its own spirit, so Vhagar chose Aemond. Remember Aemond was being bullied for not having a dragon, so he sought to claim the biggest dragon to prove his bullies wrong.
Lmao Alicent is right tho, Rhaenyra is a sheltered entitled little rich kid who thinks the rules don't apply to her, she would make a horrible queen and her bastard children would cause wars in the future.
The older actresses were hired first for the main story. The younger ones were like training wheels.
Am I the only one that thought Aemond looked like chucky after he got stitched up? 😂😂

This show fucking rocks. Makes me forget Season 8 ever happened.
I don't think this all happened in a night. Rhae and Daemon surely had to take at least another day to put this plan into motion.
They're in a different place entirely when they marry. Not on Driftmark.
Aemond and Vhagar was a badass sequence
25:06 well the book is written like a historic account that reviewed diaries of 2 witnesses, so the show has a lot of freedom without contradicting the book, as lack of sufficient evidence and biases easily lead to all kind of false assumptions in hisotry books
If you enjoy Olivia Cooke's work I HIGHLY recommend the Amazon Original mini series of "Vanity Fair." Olivia plays the lead character Becky.
20x better than the 2000s movie
Off subject, WHERE THE HECK was the baby?!?! Such a fuss over him last episode, now it's like, "ehhhh...Judy Winslow him this episode!" 😂

Every time I watch an episode for the first time (before looking at any reactors reactions), my initial thoughts are “oh my goodness, I’m stoked to see how ____ reacts to this part” or “_____ is gonna go wild when they see this” 😂😂😂
