Tuscany is one of those places that creeps into my soul. This monoprint made on a gelli arts gel plate is no different. Just acrylic paint, a brayer, and a gel plate - a flood of memories built up layer by layer, ending in a frameable piece of art that I connect with and ultimately turn into two handmade cards to send to people that I love.

I just started doing some gel prints yesterday. Experimenting with basic stuff and it's addictive. But this... this way of showing in such a way that I understand WHAT you did while listening to WHY to did it is an amazing reaching method. Oh Ingrid, when did you become a poet? Such beautiful and inspiring words married to your visual art. You took me back to my own memories of Italy and made me grateful once again that I am one of those who have been blessed to wander those Tuscan hills with my Love.
I will use this inspiration to try to recall some of those memories and create them in my art. I am blessed to live in the countryside myself, in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. We are flooded with fields of golden canola and verdant green wheat at this time of the year.

Thank you! This is one of my favorite videos ever, as it's a true story. Those are literally my photos of what's happening. That was my view from our farmhouse, and I'll never forget printing this landscape.
I recently sat down with Tiffany the other day on zoom and just printed. I plan on coming back, I've really missed the channel, creative process and everyone here. Work has needed to be my focus, as that's how we paid the bills...lol. Unfortunately the channel doesn't earn much, it's more a labor of love. But life has freed up a bit, thankfully.

How do u make the homemade gel plate
There are lots of great videos here on TH-cam. I have never made one. I have a sneaking suspicion that by the time you bought all the supplies, you could actually buy a gel plate for that amount. Biggest difference between the two - homemade ones, don't last. Let me know how it turns out though Dianna! Thanks for watching. :)

The golden rule in writing is show don’t tell. Think about letting viewers have their own experiences of the unfolding color and pattern instead of describing and explaining your interpretation. No words were necessary; in fact they’re distracting. I wonder, too, why is this labeled Advanced?
Yes, that is true, but I did the best I could with the footage I had, so sorry you are disappointed. This is an advanced gel print, building up depth is not something most think of in this manner. Clearly interpretation is to each artist. If the narration of my video, my memory is distracting to you, feel free to mute it in the future. This video was a labor of love, a way of me sharing something that took over an hour to create into something consumable for my audience on this channel. It was me capturing my memory - a TRUE STORY burned into my mind still to this day, and erupted onto my gel plate as I sat down to the plate this day as an artist.
