I mean, this schtick was always dubious in the delay-based era of netcode. It was crazy how the lag was always so much more detrimental for DSP than it was anyone else, and that was when we all dealt with that shit on occasion. But in the rollback era? This little goblin can fuck right off with that shit. I've played thousands of matches across multiple rollback titles and I can count the amount of unplayable matches on one hand. Add to that his input errors and even when he somehow blindly guesses correctly or his opponent blunders, he can't get anything out of it.

Don't feel bad since Phil is getting to master solely from using characters where no one knows the matchups or scrub character like Honda. He got destroyed using any conventional characters like Luke, Ryu, DeeJay, and ChunLi. He was doing so bad with Aki, like 30-40% winrate, that he quit using her entirely.
True that is essentially meaningless. He has an idea that only people who truly "understand" Street Fighter like he thinks he does need to play a certain way. He doesn't like when people repeat attacks, "mashing jab", or just have a different play style than him. Since they don't "understand" it like he does, they're cheating in his eyes. Which is great because he's just as much of a pattern player, and most good players can pick up on those and counter his moves. And when that happens they're cheating, of course.
My understanding of his logic is basically this: Any hit that isn't a trick is not earned. Every hit must be some sort of mind game or "meaty" crossup. Of course that's nonsense, especially coming from the guy allergic to 4frame jabs that counter everything he tries.

Even 200ms can feel fine with barely noticable delay, as long as the ping stays stable and the rollback frames don't fluctuate. SF6 handles rollback very well and almost every one of Phil's matches has a perfectly stable connection. The only proper lagspike was at 2:33 in the video when the rollback frames jumped from 1 to 4 for a couple seconds.
