African Black Soap is a general term used to describe an array of soaps made and sold in West Africa. In Ghana (my family’s home country), I’ve seen and used many different versions of African Black Soap.
In today’s African Black Soap making tutorial recipe, I’m using a basic soap recipe as my base and adding in a lovely powdered mixture of ashes and charcoal to produce a bar of soap with a rich lather that cleanses skin and absorbs oils. Enjoy the video and leave your comments below about your experience with African Black Soap.

Chemically, Coco pod ash and plantain ash is potassium hydroxide. So may i know why you still used that lye solution? Thanks
