Traffic on the western part of the Chūō Main Line east of Nakatsugawa tends to be pretty sparse local traffic except for the _Shinano_ limited express several times a day.
Thank you for your comment! To the east of the Nakatsugawa certainly the number of driving is reduced considerably. The number of express Shinano may be high.
It also used to be home to the old 115系 train sets but now those have pretty much been replaced by two-car 313系 train sets. Nakatsugawa is (I believe) the east end of commuter services from central Nagoya.

As you said, now there are only 313 series and no interest.
