My head canon is Courier telling Benny this at the Legion's Camp;

In fairness, for 1, 3, Vegas, and 4, that's half the plot. They're then "fight super mutants", "fight Enclave", "OK, so who do I put in charge of the Mojave?", and "OK, so who do I put in charge of the Commonwealth?". Don't know with 2 or 76.

The vault dweller from fallout one is the best of the dwellers in my opinion bro legit saved the vault and the entire valley around it all to get a thank you and now get the hell out here from the overseer

Finding your Killer in "Fallout: New Vegas" is a badass Revenge Story that's 10 Times way more Cooler than a Generic finding a Son or Father (Twice) Story in Fallout 3, 4 and Series.
But Fallout4 story becomes way better when you add the fact that Nate is a war criminal, now he doesn’t even need his wife jury hence there are no laws in the wasteland, and he’s gonna make sure that wasteland stays waste

The courier, too angry to die and about to single handedly tilt the balance of power of the entire Mojave and potentially the whole west coast: *SEE, THIS IS WHY WE SAY TO NEVER SHOOT THE MESSENGER.*
To this day I think the strongest protagonist is the chosen one. Faced the enclave in its heyday In addition to Frank Horrigan, the strongest agent is a monster that has ever walked the fallout universe, who shredded a deathclaw with his hands and who would make any monster in any fallout look easy. My vote is for the chosen one from fallout 2.
Nah i met him in Novac and he doesn't look so tough.
My version of the Chosen One gave Frank the most unfair fight ever, several automated turrets, together with some dudes in power armor that I convinced to join me, and of course, I myself in power armor, everyone shooting at Frank with miniguns.
I'm pretty sure the courier could also do that.
The Chosen One is absolutely the strongest by the end of the game, although end-game Vault Dweller and end-game Courier are still pretty strong. End-game Lone Wanderer and end-game 76 don't even come close without plot armor, and end-game Sole Survivor has to rely on his literally infinite level cap to have any chance.

(then suddenly a group of raiders appear, The courier pulls out a pistol and shots six, before unholsting his shot gun Dinner bell, shooting the head off one there leader, and one is alive just trying to crawl back)
the courier reloading his pistol and shot gun, just looks at the one crawiling and say "looks to me this unlucky basterd survive bieng shot by a .44 magnum right down to the spine, do he may never walk again... poor devil" (courier pulls down his hat in respect, then put it back on) "welp guess I be going know, farewell and dont let the death claws pick your carcass clean amigo"
the courier just walks off while the raider is on the floor crawling chocking on his own blood, courier didn't even bother to finish him, just left the raider to die slowly. after the courier would say "that man was going slice my throat, steal everything I got on me, and what left of me that isn't meat, clothes and guns, he would use as fire fuel. how in tarnishes should I feel compassionate for? should I be merciful for him wasting my time?"
And he would then ask you about some lore of the wasteland that he should know but doesn't because he has a selective memory after a hole was made on his brain.
The Courier got shot in the head and decided to make it the entire Mojave's problem

I would say that the Chosen One and the Courier would look pretty even, given how the Courier faced off against the NCR, the Legion and Mr House and won...but on the other hand the Chosen One defeated the Master and the Mariposa SuperMutants army, so....

Gotta love how every Fallout usually involves having to search for something. From a water chip, to the G.E.C.K. to looking for Vault 0, looking for a dad, your son, another dad, and then New Vegas comes in with looking for revenge against a man in a checkered suit.

Kinda want that as a running theme in Fallout games now. Vault dwellers characters looking for loved ones while courier characters looking for revenge.
