I have a small piece where, previous years I planted vegtables, but this year I will make it a herbal garden, like you I love herbal teas :o) In other places in the garden, I will plant old roses, so that I can harvest their rosehips for tea.
I don't have a garden my own but I do have a patio overlooking my building's garden, and I grow flowers in pots : I grow perennials like roses whith different hues and other plants, but I also grow annuals from seeds like multicolored cornflowers (which have pastel hues like blue, lavender, pink, rose shades), cosmos flowers which are daisy like pink and magenta flowers and also zinnias which looks like a flower with a tiny flower crown on the top, it's very fairy like. These three flowers are also edible so I put them on top of cakes (like strawberry cakes) and they take around 2 to 3 months to bloom, I start my seeds in April where I live zone 6 (In France) !
I'm also growing flowers in pots that took a full year to bloom, I grow Valerian which looks a bit like cow parsley with tiny white flowers, and I use the leaves to make relaxing/sleeping teas. It looks like a fairy tree to me ! And one of my favorite is the chicory flower, you can use the root to make chicory hot beverage which is a speciality in my country/region but also in New Orleans ! Or just eat the leaves in salads ect..but my favorite part are the flowers because each day you have a new set of blue flowers which bloom early in the morning and then close and fade in the early afternoon, they bloom and fade along with the sun ! It's magical. 💕
I resonate so much with that feeling that I have to have everything in order and be in the perfect place before I can start new dreams or plans. Thanks for the encouragement! This is such a beautiful garden area you’ve created with the space you have. ☺️
I’ve just come across your video and love your calming presentation. I’m in my 60s and until last year had always convinced myself that any houseplants I bought would shrivel up and die. But I was determined to try again and am so pleased that I now have several plants that look healthy.
Oh Haley! I’m so glad you decided to do it! It looks so beautiful and cheerful. Your painted pots are really pretty too. I struggle with perfectionism too and one of the best things I’ve learned is to stop “waiting” for things to be just right or you will spend your whole life waiting instead of living. Sending you happy thoughts and hugs and good growing vibes for your plants!😊
Stephanie, I want to say the biggest THANK YOU because your encouragement inspired me to finally start my indoor garden this year!! ❤️ I am so happy you like my little garden so far and I'm so excited to share the progress with you! I completely agree with what you said about how important it is to stop waiting for everything to be perfect instead of living, that is such important wisdom. Sending you a big virtual hug!! 🤗
Dear Haley.. How enjoyable each project was. Your windowsill garden is perfect, along with your painted pots ! And the tomato bread made my mouth water. You will get such enjoyment from watching your plants grow and using them in your recipes. Good luck little gardener and many green blessings 💚🤗💚
So happy to see your beautiful garden, Haley. I'm sure it will continue to be a place to connect with the earth and find peace in nurturing life. Also, that mantra you shared with us of, 'Start where you are,' has been my guiding light lately. It's such a powerful reminder to embrace the present moment and begin the journey from exactly where I am. Sending everyone happy thoughts.
The painted pots are so cheerful!! You did such an amazing job. Thank you for inspiring us! 🤍 I love plants and flowers so this video was so calming to me. What a great way to start the day! Happy Sunday, Haley. Happy Sunday to everyone here as well!! ✨
Aww thank you SO much, Kathryn!! I am so happy you enjoyed the video and glad it brought little early spring sunshine to your day ☀️ Have an amazing week, beauty!
New subscriber to your delightful channel! I’ve been gardening for 41 years - it’s a life long passion once the bug bites - your first beginnings are so exciting and I wish you a lifetime of enjoyment! Your windowsill creation is so very inspiring and pretty 💗
Thank you so much for subscribing, and welcome!! ❤️ Thank you for all of your kind words and well wishes about gardening--and you are so right about it becoming a lifelong passion--I am already hooked! 😊 Can't wait to keeping sharing videos with you!
Hi, Haley! It's so true that although it's good to want to be prepared, we've got to just start where we are. :) I need to remember that more often in my own life. By the way, as an intermediate gardener, I wanted to give you a tip that might help with your basil: when we buy basil, it is almost always overcrowded. So if we separate it into small batches we get way more produce, but also, most importantly, our basil survives. Before I knew this, my basil would die every single time without exception.
Thank you so much for this gardening tip, my friend!! This was perfect timing because my basil just died, now I know why!! 😂 I will definitely do this the next time I get a new basil plant!!
Nothing like brand new pots ! 🌱 Since I was a kid 8 years old or so , I loved spray painting old metal plant stands and pots and seeds 😄 This video is so inspiring 😍👏 thank you 🌺 and relaxing
I love the painted pots so much! They are so pretty. And that entire window sill is so pretty and calming. I started off with just a sunny window in my old apartment and a little tomato plant. Eventually I moved and had a patio full of container veggies (tomatoes, peppers, peas, cucumbers and herbs). You will get there. It just takes time and patience. Good luck!
Hello again from the uk ☺. Always use a sharp knife or scissors when cutting your herbs, they don't like being tugged or twisted. They will smell lovely in your kitchen. Sending love light and bright blessings xx
Hi, just wanted to thank you for such lovely ideas and a beautiful video. As I’ve not been so well, lately, I had almost given up on the idea of a window sill garden, but watching your video has meant I will reconsider given your brilliant idea of keeping a journal with the best conditions etc for growing your plants, as I think this would ultimately made things a lot easier for me. It also looked so delightful when you returned to your little green space in the morning, and I’m just so intrigued by your recipe for the tomato toast. Your videos bring a lot of joy, inspiration and positivity for the future, so thanks again, and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead, and that your tiny space of garden will continue to flourish and bloom! Maria
Your Window garden turned out so nice, and your painted pots are beautiful. For some inspiration, if you have time, I follow a young youtube family Danielle and Nate that just moved home here to So. Utah, to start a one acre homestead from scratch. they have moved around due to work several times, and Danielle at times only had a deck to have pots then a rental with HOA rules on gardening. The whole time with little space, and moving, she studyed gardening and homesteading so she would be ready when she could. Their channel is called High Desert Homesteader. I am so happy that you are going to study and learn about plants and gardening, so you will be ready, when you have an outside garden.
Oh Hailey, your windowsill garden it’s beautiful! Your painted pots adorable! You’re an artist 🧑🎨… thank you for sharing this great ideas! I already planted some seeds, painting a pot and also bought a wooden raise table. You are so talented! Your videos always put smile on my face 😊! Thank you for this great videos 💓🤗🌼 🌸 🌱 🪴🪻🫛⭐️🙏
Let me just say: I absolutely adore your little scrapbook about your garden! It looks soo wonderful and you are soo creative with the design! I always love to watch your videos they make me feel soo much better ❤ Thank you so much for making my day❤
Beautiful space for windowsill gardening. One thing I would say is you want your soil/potting medium to be wet before adding it to the pots, this will help ensure it's evenly moist for seed sprouting. Also make sure you are misting only the plants that like it, and watering from the bottom when the soil starts to feel dry is better than watering a little every day.
Love the painted pots! My husband and I moved to a condo at the end of last year and we have a little balcony I’m so excited to grow some things on! I agree that having a big yard can be daunting when just starting out. Our friends are flower farmers and have years of experience now and started just like this with windowsill plants. If you have a Roku tv their free live tv section has a gardening channel with a show called Gardeners World with Monty Don and it’s so inspiring! ✨✨✨🪴
I found this very inspiring - to start where you are with things you want to do. Even though I'm 63 years old, I feel very unsure about my creativity and yet it's something I want to explore. And by the way - I LOVE your flower pots. I'd pay money for them if I saw them at the market.
Happy beginning of spring💖The birds are so beautiful😍You design your notebook so cute! I want to try to make an apron for my mom since she loves gardening 🙂Unfortunately, I am the type of person who knows how to plan in detail, wait for a certain day or moment, but if I don’t start doing anything, it increases my anxiety and makes me feel worse than other. But I struggle with this and tell myself that it’s better to do something bad than not even try🙂You remind me of a beautiful fairy, you have such a kind smile! ❤️Good luck in your home garden🤗(I hope I didn’t make many mistakes in the text, I’m still at the beginning of my journey of learning English☺️)
I LOVE how your painted pots came out! So beautiful. We are going on year 2 for our outdoor garden and it is still lots of trial and error but the fruit of my labor is so sweet.
Never seen any sill window garden this cute ! I love those painted pots ! You are such a talented gardener, I believe you will have a beautiful big garden in a near future ! Good luck !
The immediate boost in color and life in the house with the addition of your garden even made ME happy to see on screen! ❤ Haley, this is a WONDERFUL and courageous step toward your big garden dreams 🪻🌱 I am elated for you! ☺️
You are the absolute best--thank you SO much, beauty!! 🥰 It was so much fun finally starting my little garden, and I can't wait to keep sharing the progress with you!!
Congrats on starting! This looks lovely. One thing I would do is split up your basil in a few pots instead of the one. It may die out as you potted it up. You have what looks like about 6 + basil plants in that one planter. You should repot a few of them so they can fully grow. (Talking from experience with indoor basil). Best of luck! 😊 Beautiful start!
You have inspired me! We have an acre of land where we plant many wonderful vegetable and herbs however....I am going to make an indoor herbal tea garden! LOVE this idea! Much love to you!!! xoxoxoxo
Those painted pots are gorgeous ! I love them so much! Funny you starting with gardening as I'm already rummaging through my seed stash to decide what I'll plant in my garden this year. I want to make it especially colourful and fun this time, to make me want to sit outside. I'm curious to see how your seeds grow and look forward to another of your beautiful videos. Take care, friend 🌸
❤Haley, this is an absolutely wonderful video....How talented you are. Not only is the way you arranged your indoor garden soooo lovely-your painted pots are a dream....... I send this video to my students ....for young girls this is such a wonderful way to create something very special in their homes.. THANK YOU❤
Thank you so much, dear Ricarda!! ❤️ That is so kind of you to say, I'm so happy that you loved the painted pots and the way I arranged the garden--and I hope it brings a little sunshine to your students' days, too! ☀️ Sending you a big virtual hug--thank you for all of your support!
The house we rent is the same. Though we maintain the outside we cannot plant a garden like we want to. Last summer was our first summer in the house and I so wanted a garden. So I planted a small container garden. I started small with tomatoes, peppers, jalapeños and cucumber. It turned out pretty good though it was such a wet summer it was a bit of a struggle. I’m so looking forward to planting again this year. I’ll probably start my seeds next weekend. I am expanding what I am going to grow this year and I am so excited about it.
Your container garden from last year sounds amazing--I would love to start growing vegetables as soon as I have the space!! My mom has a garden and there is truly nothing better than fresh tomatoes off the vine--yum! Good luck with your garden this year, I am so excited for you ❤️
This video came at the right time! 💚 I'm dreaming of creating an internal garden on the kitchen window of the new apartment where I'll be moving in April and your video is not only wonderful to watch but it has given me so much inspiration and now I can't wait to create my own little garden too! Thank you! 🌿🪻✨ PS. Can I ask you the name of those violet flowers you have on the cover of the video? they remind me of the flowers found in enchanted woods and I would like to plant them too 🪻😍
Your apron is lovely. I think the herb garden is so beautiful! I love the journal you made. it reminds me a lot of the envelopes I have made for my penpal letters (but way better because you have more materials). The ink pad with the letters is really awesome. Did you get it at Michaels? Maybe somewhere else. It is good you have lovely window light to do what you are doing to grow your herbs! I had a garden at my parents' house until they took it down mid covid lockdown, which broke my heart. I miss it so much. One day I hope I can have a garden in a yard of my own. It is so much fun to paint terracotta pots. I love the white one with the little flowers you made on it! They are all lovely though. Great job. Now I want this toast...
Oh my goodness that is the sweetest compliment--thank you so much! I can't tell you how often I go into Anthropologie and think "how can I DIY this beautiful item I can't afford?" 😂
Your windowsill garden is so beautiful! Maybe one day you can expand it to a container garden outside. Good luck on your new garden journey, gardening is so much fun and so good for you. ❤
Adore this video, your videos always help me feel calm! Love the tea garden and the painted pots look so professional, you have such creative flair and talent! I tried to grow indoor herbs and ended up with a fly infestation! Maybe I will try again, you’ve inspired me ❤
You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that--thank you so much for saying that ❤️ Oh nooo I am so sorry other about your fly infestation, and that is definitely one of the things I'm concerned about and will definitely keep and eye on! I hope you can start your garden again soon 🪴
I love your window garden :o) Some tips: each of those basil stalks are separate plants, you can plant one stalk in multiple pots. And make sure that all your pots have holes at the bottom to drain excess water. (Sorry if I wrote some things incorrect, my english is not perfect ;o)) Also, I love the pots you painted, very pretty!
Lovely video 😍🥹 so inspiring, as always! I’m also planning on growing a vegetable/herb garden this year🌿 and probably a bee-friendly area with some wild flowers, too 🌸🐝 I loved the idea of painting those terracotta vases, I might try the same with my little one 😊 thank you for sharing! May I ask you what camera lens do you use? 🙏🏼
Your painted garden pots are GORGEOUS! I think you're being too hard on yourself. They look like something people would buy in a store. How is your crochet coming? Next thing you should do to spruce up your windowsill garden is to add a few crochet flowers, and maybe an amigurumi critter or two, like a bee or cardinal. That would be super cute!
I was drawn right into this video. Soothing, great aesthetics and so enjoyable. Your pots look so good. and a nice little recipe at the end. I'm trying it all! lol What did you use for soil and what did you add to it? Lovely ideas. I have subscribed.
Do you have a porch or a sidewalk? A container garden can fit a very tiny space and still provide some fresh produce for you. I just have a sidewalk and have grown potatoes, strawberries and tomatoes in containers so far. It's not much but it's enough for now.
Thank you so much!! We’re renting our home and the cabinets were painted this color when we moved in, so unfortunately I don’t have the color-but I just tried to find a color match online and this one is super close! www.farrow-ball.com/us/paint/light-blue?sku=5029496732276&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAxaCvBhBaEiwAvsLmWHO3k-Pm7pvsZdVFXY-KJlczjvZDtrF3G9Qb8y4GDZ9De03iQHsMwRoCdiIQAvD_BwE
Is there a reason the landlord doesn't want you planting outside? Are you allowed to container garden? Or maybe plant native? If you're planting indoors, keep in mind that full sun for plants means 6+hours of sunlight. I've grown full sun plants on windows sills and it worked but they came out smaller in size. Still cute. If you're looking for a part sun plant, browallia is gorgeous.
It seems it has been 4months since the vid was posted, how is the garden doing? Have any of the cuttings you hung in the window gotten the new roots? Have your herbs been growing back after you harvest ingredients for your meals? Give us a little update please, I am so curious???
Are you planning on growing a garden this year?! 🪴 I’d love to hear about your gardening plans!! ❤️
I absolutely loved every moment of this delightful video! Actually, I always love all your videos!
You are too kind--thank you so much for saying that, dear friend!!
The pots are gorgeous! They look just like something I would fall in love with at Anthropologie and then pout over not being able to afford 😂
Thank you so much for your kind words, friend--I really hope so, too!! 🥰I'm already having the best time and can't wait to keep learning
Your smile make me melted so pretty all about your creativity i'm feeling in a heaven now 💕
Aww you are too kind, thank you so much dear!!
@@MyMoonstoneKitchen yess you're welcome my dear too😘
I love your window garden :o) Some tips: each of those basil stalks are separate plants, you can plant one stalk in multiple pots. And make sure that all your pots have holes at the bottom to drain excess water. (Sorry if I wrote some things incorrect, my english is not perfect ;o)) Also, I love the pots you painted, very pretty!
Lovely video 😍🥹 so inspiring, as always!
I’m also planning on growing a vegetable/herb garden this year🌿 and probably a bee-friendly area with some wild flowers, too 🌸🐝
I loved the idea of painting those terracotta vases, I might try the same with my little one 😊 thank you for sharing!
May I ask you what camera lens do you use? 🙏🏼
Love all of it! Inspiring!
Thank you so much, Holly!! ❤️
I have subscribed.
yayy, i had a feeling that there might be a spring video coming from you today!:) i have also just been gathering ideas for my spring indoor garden :)
Ahh I’m so excited for you to grow your indoor garden-I had the best time creating mine!! 🪴Thank you so much for being here ❤️
What kind of clear gloss paint did you use on the pots? I love what you painted.
Beautiful ❤️❤️🥰🥰
Thank you! 🤗
What a wonderful video! May i know where you bought that beautiful water spritzer please?
Nice video... Really Loved it.... 💚
Thank you so much 🥰
lovely 📷 video your window sill is 😍 beautiful.
Thank you so much, friend 🥰
Do you have a porch or a sidewalk? A container garden can fit a very tiny space and still provide some fresh produce for you. I just have a sidewalk and have grown potatoes, strawberries and tomatoes in containers so far. It's not much but it's enough for now.
So inspiring and your painted pots turned out so cute! Where do you get your garden journaling stickers from?
What did you plant that produced the lovely blue flowers?
I love your pots! Could you please tell me what color your kitchen cabinets are painted? Thank you !!!!
Thank you so much!! We’re renting our home and the cabinets were painted this color when we moved in, so unfortunately I don’t have the color-but I just tried to find a color match online and this one is super close! www.farrow-ball.com/us/paint/light-blue?sku=5029496732276&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAxaCvBhBaEiwAvsLmWHO3k-Pm7pvsZdVFXY-KJlczjvZDtrF3G9Qb8y4GDZ9De03iQHsMwRoCdiIQAvD_BwE
Thank you so much! That was so sweet of you to look for me 😘😘😘
Ohhh te acabo de descubrir! Y me encantas! ❤
Still cute. If you're looking for a part sun plant, browallia is gorgeous.
where did you get your seeds and potted herbs from?
I believe you had a video that showed how you made the moon cycle. Could you share the link to that video?
It seems it has been 4months since the vid was posted, how is the garden doing? Have any of the cuttings you hung in the window gotten the new roots? Have your herbs been growing back after you harvest ingredients for your meals? Give us a little update please, I am so curious???
I love your video. I would like to know what growing medium you were using. Could you please tell me.
Thank you so much! I used indoor potting mix from the brand Back to Roots (from Target)
Thank you so much for the reply. I saw that brand at Menards and I’m going to go back and get some.
