I do a ton of continuous research, read manuals, web search and videos, consult "expert professionals" in their field... these days that is grossly lacking. I gotta say I like the way Jay puts it all together. Very informative, well researched, we get to see it live. I have always done all my own installs as I just don't trust most to do it right the first time, or to the level of detail I would personally do it myself. From what I've seen from Jay(Volunteer Audio) I would trust him with my install and install plan. Well done.
Jay thank you for sharing this information and on your website. I had the 08.off flash installed, and my ride to Sturgis and back was horrible this year, didn’t want to listen to the radio. When I spoke to the Rockford guys at Black Hills Harley they told me that I needed to install their flash since I have their amp. Fortunately I have the Techno tool from you and I was able to install the Volunteer Audio flash. Radio sounds so much clearer now. Thanks again.

I spoke with one of the people at your shop to try to figure out if I had the correct flash in my radio after my install and I didn't so I got it changed and you just solidified that I now have the correct flash in my radio. I think your shop and info is absolutely awesome and I will definitely be buying a sounstream radio from you when I can get the money together. Thanks a lot for making the effort, Jay to explain the HD factory radio cluster f***. I feel again confirmed in my decision to go for a FLHTP when buying my new bike and source the stereo system from an expert source (yes, you guys lol). Just listening to you rattling down the potential rabbit holes HD stereo owners might get trapped in, gives me a headache. My SI is brilliant. It just works , sounds great and let's me enjoy the pleasures of using a modern, state of the art stereo system . Keep up the good work.👍🤙

Hi there! I’m a huge fan of your show and have taken many recommendations from your videos. I have a quick question. I’m running a Rockford Fosgate stage kit on my Road Glide. I have the PMX-HD14 head unit, TMS400AD amp, TMS65 fronts, and TMS69 in my bags. Rockford recommended setting the amp with HP on. I feel like it sounds better in the AP setting. What are your thoughts? Will I harm the system by leaving the AP setting on? Thank you for all the great videos!
I do recommend using a high pass filter, in our testing the radio you have has a hidden bass boost that makes the speakers sound very distorted when loud, it also does not react as you would expect when setting the eq

So I see the Kicker 2 speaker is 128_Off bin on your website list, then in the other list that has Yes/No for fade control, it says Kicker 4 speaker kit front and rear Fade Yes, is that one also listed in the Techno Research module? We are awaiting our shipment from Soundstream, customs released the shipment over the weekend and Soundstream received the radios into their warehouse today
Great video and I just learned I have the 02_off flash in mine. I take it I have to go to the dealership to get a new flash like the 14_off or is there a site where we can download the BIN and load it via USB?
This was part of a series, the Harley dealership can not properly flash it and we go over this in the video series. You need the volunteer audio flash and you need a techno research tool or dealer for techno research. We sell and rent the tool at www.volunteeraudio.com
Jay, I'm running my 202` StreetGlide Special with the V2 and Rockford Front and rear speakers and AMP, but I'm using the ThunderMax the sound is very good now that I have the V2 installed. Do I need a flash? or is the V2 and Rockford AMP enough.
Do all the thumb controls still work as they should when having a ThunderMax? I've read the gauges don't read on the V2 but never seen anything mentioned on all the other features.
J I have 2014, and I have installed a GTS radio, and I checked to see what flash is in my bike I have 2014 flash ot ask if I want to change the flash , I don't know what flash to use. I have 6 speaker, 3 amps, stage 2, what flash should use please

You do not flash the bike when using an aftermarket radio, this only pertains to stock radio

Volunteer audio has our own flash that works great, we have a list of all acceptable flashes here
