RIP sir... you will remain making people laugh for decades to come.. thanks for being part of the great comic tradition! still love that show! legendary..
Dad’s Army star Ian Lavender dies aged 77 0839am 7.2.23 well as no one played that part prior to him you would be a hard pressed to put him up against anyone to compare and contrast the role with. i liked dad's army so, yeah, a sad day... enough with the simpering incidental music. though....
Bless you Ian for your contribution to one of my favorite childhood comedy programs , still as funny & family friendly today as the day it was made . A generation mourn your passing , rest in peace Pikey . A
not a bad comment to make was based one briton darkest hours and time? if you can make that subject funny you can make anything funny RIP Ian Lavender (aka. PIKE )
Private Pike was a dream part which Ian Lavender acknowledged and was grateful for ... recordings of the show will keep his memory going much longer than many of us can wish to hope for ... RIP as he meets up with his old comrades from Walmington-on-Sea
He just looked and sounded like one of the nicest , gentlemen you could ever meet . Always humble and gracious and hugely likeable . Condolences to Mr Lavender's immediate family .
I loved Private Pike, he was Wonderful. Our son who has disabilities loves watching Dad's Army on repeat. Thank you Mr Lavender for being a fantastic part of my childhood. RIP. Thinking of Mr Lavender,s family & friends at this sad time.😢
It was a pleasure meeting Ian lavender 5 Times in my life my father and myself had some lovely chats with Ian as my grandfather was great friends of John le mesurier. Just can't believe watching dad's Army all the actors have sadly passed away leaving a legacy.
I smile when seeing his smiley face, laugh at his quips. A British treasure gone but NOT forgotten, nor will his mates from Dad’s Army ever be. A gentleman. Farewell and thanks for the memories. ❤🇬🇧❤
I was genuinely so sad when I heard of his passing. Dads Army is one that has and will stand the test of time. What a fantastic legacy to leave for future generations to enjoy. Sadly he was the last of them.
Must admit this news has come as a big shock. I always thought he looked fit and well and he was always laughing and joking just like his character Pikey. They were all legends of comedy and part of our country's fabric growing up. Each and every one of them are missed, and even more so now we've sadly lost Ian. What a very sad day for those of us who loved DA and still do, it's like a part of your own life has gone. RIP Ian and condolences to his family.
