Dad’s Army star Ian Lavender dies aged 77 0839am 7.2.23 well as no one played that part prior to him you would be a hard pressed to put him up against anyone to compare and contrast the role with. i liked dad's army so, yeah, a sad day... enough with the simpering incidental music. though....

It was a pleasure meeting Ian lavender 5 Times in my life my father and myself had some lovely chats with Ian as my grandfather was great friends of John le mesurier.
Just can't believe watching dad's Army all the actors have sadly passed away leaving a legacy.

Must admit this news has come as a big shock. I always thought he looked fit and well and he was always laughing and joking just like his character Pikey. They were all legends of comedy and part of our country's fabric growing up. Each and every one of them are missed, and even more so now we've sadly lost Ian. What a very sad day for those of us who loved DA and still do, it's like a part of your own life has gone. RIP Ian and condolences to his family.
