@@DJIncendration You’re welcome! So glad my comment could not only make comparing more efficient but allow you to benefit from the comparison in the first place.
John Mike...apologies for a post on your Acoustic Samples/Scarbee J/Jay Bass comparison. I didn't realize you had THIS vid out. Another winner. I have all BUT the Jay-Bass. Not sure why that happened. They are all so wonderfully old school. none, of course sounded like my 57 P-Basses....which I sold years ago for needed house purchase. Happy to subscribe!
Thanks so much for this. I have 'em all, but am loathe to DL and load 20+GB of samples when I really only want one. I might actually load 'em all up on a separate (bass-dedicated) machine at a later date, but this made me realize I want the Jay-Slap.
never thought i would jump ship from trilan but...been messin around with the mm and black bass from scarbee for a few days and...i gotta say...they nailed the sound.
Hi John. Thank you for your great videos. I noticed that whether it’s on your iPad or Mac you play on a high latency setting- 1024 or more. Aren’t you bothered by latency?
+Deddi Boy gotcha...yea that was how it was set it the app by default...I had literally just downloaded the app and I did the review...I honestly didn’t notice the latency played fine to me...but usually as a practice I don’t go any higher than 512...try to live around 256
You may know this. I'm trying to just do a simple bass walk, but sometimes I try to reset and start the pattern over and it doesn't work. I'm using the Kontakt arpeggiator to do this.
Play guitar through Melodyne 5, use the midi it generates Melodyne's midi is far superior when it comes to slides and bends etc. I guess a real electric guitar works well.
as far as i know, if you want to slide from one note to another, you when pressing the first, press down the second one without let it go the first one. And thats how you get a slide.
2:14 Jay-Bass
2:34 Jay-Bass Slap
2:45 Pre-Bass
3:09 Pre-Bass Amped
3:35 MM-Bass
3:54 MM-Bass Amped
4:09 Rickenbacker Bass
For anyone watching in 2020 :)
gracias
thank youuuu!
Thank you. I'm completely blind, so I was unable to tell which one was which until I found this comment.

Thank you, John, for literally having the only no-bullshit walkthrough of these basses on the entire fucking internet.
It’s incredible how smooth and convincing these all sound. Love it
Video starts at 2:15
Ive owned these for years and always overlooked them, now im realising that I have all these options!

Thanks very much for the tone comparison between these bass sims! Truly did help.
Decided to go with the Pre-Bass Amped and the MM-Bass

John Mike showing you all the basses in your faces via god's graces.
Excellent demo! Thank you so much! I have had these for years but never used. Now i definately will
this was clutch thank you so much that was beautiful playing
Have you tried Modo Bass?
Nice video, one quick question. Which one of those bass sounds do you think would be best for a Reggae Bass Line?
Thanks John. Exactly what I was looking for.. helped a lot.
thanks this really helped me decide - narrowed down to 2 choices Jay bass or MM Amped.. thank you
Just the job, simplified the decision process no end, thanks John :)
Really great video. Helps so much in the decision making. Best to you!
Awesome, thanks. This is just what I was looking for
Very helpful! Thank you!

Deddi Boy not sure where you got that from...I’m normally around 256 and no higher than 512 when playing...
From here for example- th-cam.com/video/aHKuuUilb8s/w-d-xo.htmlm1s
Thanks for your reply anyway.

Professionally handling the vst like a real bass guitarist !!
Thanks a lot for this, it was a huge help!
Cool sounds. Did you use any compression/effects on these? Mine doesn't sound so meaty out of the box. Sorry if this is already answered.
Thanks and no these were all right out the box no effects added
Could depend on the sensitivity of your keyboard and the velocity of your playing.
This was very helpful, thank you!
Thanks from Berlin!!!
Thank you John! very helpful!
Thanks! this is what I exactly needed 😊
Just what I was looking for thanks
What's your personal favorite John?
Jaybass
You may know this. I'm trying to just do a simple bass walk, but sometimes I try to reset and start the pattern over and it doesn't work. I'm using the Kontakt arpeggiator to do this.
Question: Do the Amped versions include not amped ver? Is it possible to turn off the ampes and just use the original sounds?
these are all un amped right?
John, have you tried Modo Bass yet?
Not yet...
He tratado con casi todos, pero los mejores a mi gusto son scarbee mm bass y el rickenbacker
The Ricky rules! 😀
If you have the time I have a which type of Bates would you use in a reggaeton type beat. And can you also give me the scales
I can send you scales
Thanks. Does help!
Very very nice. Thank you kind sir 🙏
Thanks!
Rickenbacker bass demo on the neck pickup??
Hi what is the macOS using in this video and other video reviews
Pablo Pelaez I’m still on El Capitan on this Mac...on my MacBook Pro I have Sierra
John Mike you not recommend upgrade a macOS high Sierra
Pablo Pelaez no I wouldn’t just yet...everything is not completely compatible yet
John Mike ok thanks for your time god bless you
Thanks
AMIO QUISIERA TU SAMPLER DE BAJO COMO AGO
sorry for my newbie question but... Can I use a real bass guitar to trigger this vst?
I don’t think the technology exists yet
Play guitar through Melodyne 5, use the midi it generates
Melodyne's midi is far superior when it comes to slides and bends etc.
I guess a real electric guitar works well.
thank you
Not even close! 😋
DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE BASSES SLIDE!
Maestro Sounds Entertainment Human Resource Use the sustain pedal
as far as i know, if you want to slide from one note to another, you when pressing the first, press down the second one without let it go the first one. And thats how you get a slide.
i think only rickenbacher has dedicated slide ? will check my manuals when i can as i have them all
Using studio one
Pré bass thé more usefull and efficient
Amped Sound Bass and Sample tank basses are the best about bass guitar..
Lol no it's not. I've got all of them and the rickenbacker bass beats everyone IMHO.
Oh it turns out I’m just really bad at playing keyboard bass 😂 I thought these weren’t good at first
The amped Pre-Bass definitely sounds full and fat
Red Bass 2 patch is the best of this series. The rest are farting too much in sound.
