    I'm really interested and the price seems good but I got a concern for false positives.
    How easy does the alarm engage? Will it engage if for example someone in an underground garage with a loud exhaust floors it?

      Hello 👋 Thank you for your comment.
      The alarm can be moved a little before being set off. It doesn’t go off if you, for example tap the wheel. However it will go off if you try and turn the bars and the steering lock is on. The shock of hitting the steering lock will generally set it off.
      I store my bike at work in an underground car park and there are a few cars with loud exhausts. They never set off the alarm.
      I hope this helps. Please subscribe

    real nice review...thanks...just got one...i plan on keeping the ebike i just bought, so it's this lock AND a heavy duty chain lock...AND insurance...that should do the trick, one way or another...
    thanks again for taking the time/energy...you explained it so that even EYE can understand how it works...

    Excellent review! I strongly recommend using multiple layers of security. I currently own a Transalp 750 and previously had a KTM 390 Duke, which, unfortunately, was stolen from a hotel about an hour outside of London. Since then, I've invested in a LITELOK X3 and several other security devices to better protect my bike

      Hello 😊 Thank you very much for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
      I agree, the more layers you can use the better! I haven’t used the litelok before but I have just purchased another bike so I do need another lock. I will have a look at that 😊
      Sorry to hear the KTM was stolen, did you ever hear back about its location?
      Nice choice on the replacement! 😊

    The little tip for the reminder call is to wrap it around the side stand lever as double protection from taking off. Assuming your engine doesn't start with the side stand out.

      Hello 😊 Providing the pin will go through your disc, then I would think so yes. There is also a version available with a 10mm locking pin for bikes with smaller gaps / holes in their brake discs.
      I hope this helps 😊

    I had a bike stolen from me recently, the annoying thing is was right outside my window and I didn’t hear anything. It was chained to a wall so it was fairly secure but clearly I need to up my security so I’m looking to get this as I will be getting a new bike soon. My main question is how loud is it? You were sat right next to it and didn’t really seem affected by it?

    • @TyresNTorque

      Hi Dylan 👋 Sorry to hear your bike has been stolen 😳
      I can just about hear this go off inside my house with the bike on the drive way. It is not ear piercingly loud but it is certainly loud enough to attract attention and hopefully put off a potential thief.
      If a thief doesn’t know this is a disc lock with an alarm, then it will probably give them a scare. The more we can do to protect out bikes the better 😊
      Did they cut through the chain?
      Please subscribe - I have put together another video for you on setting this off on my driveway, hopefully this is of use. I’ll release it tonight 😊

      @@TyresNTorqueThanks for the quick reply and useful information, I had a 10mm steel chain looped through my bike frame and a ground anchor attached to a wall, they seem to have cut through the chain with some bolt croppers and nobody in the hours heard a thing until about 5am when the big wooden gates that it was hidden behind were heard blowing in the wind. The week it was stolen there was one stolen near enough every night, some even have video footage but there’s nothing the police can do. Funnily enough they couldn’t get through the lock I used so they left it attached to the frame and took it with them. This time around I’ll be upgrading the chain and lock, aswell as adding a tracker so I can find it and an alarm disc lock (such as this one) so hopefully they will have to make noise and we can stop them next time. My last bike didn’t have disk brakes so I couldn’t use a disk lock on it. Good video, I think this will probably be the lock I go with.

    • @TyresNTorque
      @TyresNTorque  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Dylan-sw8jm I’m glad the video was useful. Ohh no! It is such a shame when the police can’t do anything 😩
      Unfortunately if they really want your bike, they doesn’t seem to be much you can do about it, other than slow them down or hopefully put them off completely.
      The more locks and security devices you use the better 😊
      Can you secure the gate? Could it be changed to a metal gate?

    • @Dylan-sw8jm
      @Dylan-sw8jm 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TyresNTorquethere big and sturdy wooden gates that can only be opened from the inside so they had to already know the bike was there to climb over and if we did put a lock on them they’d just cut that off aswell. Your right if they want the bike bad enough no lock will stop them but if I make it hard enough they may decide it’s not worth the risk or effort. If I make it noisy enough to wake me up I’ll definitely have a few words for them

      I’m thinking of trying out an alarmed padlock for the chain I’m using soon. Just another thing to put them off.
      What are you thinking for your next bike?

  • @512460
    @512460 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Can it be used without the alarm being engaged (so used as just a disk lock without an alarm )

    • @TyresNTorque
      @TyresNTorque  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it can be 😊 When you put it on the bike, just make sure it beeps twice and then it will be locked but with no alarm. If it beeps once, unlock the pin and then lock it again - it should then beep twice indicating the alarm is not set 😊
      I presume you are looking at buying one of these?

    How does it know when it's on disk and when it's in storage? In any case is closed and locked so it should sound the alarm in any way.

    • @TyresNTorque
      @TyresNTorque  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello 😊 Thank you for your comment.
      It doesn’t know when it is on a disc. It just alternates between the alarm being set and then not being set set the next time it is locked, then back to the alarm being set the time after, and so on…
      Hopefully I have explained that well enough and that makes sense?

      Hello 👋
      I haven’t tried I’m afraid. I can say this does fit on the front disc of my bike but it does not fit on the rear disc. I think a lock with a smaller locking pin would fit the rear. I ride a Honda Transalp XL 750.

    If someone wanted to steal it they would just cut a section of the Disc itself , in 2 minutes your bike is Gone.
    They use Angle Grinders
