Do you think every redesign was an upgrade - or are there some you wish we could get back?
Verina can get some of her purple flowers back but otherwise she is great.
I really wish they stuck with Verina's CBT-1 design. It gave her a sense of maturity and the scientist goggles and little splash of purple and turquoise looked amazing.
i'm not a furry but i wish awuu furryness is present in Lingyan, too many people compared him to Ga Ming from genshin now that he's kemomimi shota
Verina could have been redesigned to look more like her first iteration but the new shorts are nice. Ling yang still doesn't look good, would have been better by being closer to Mountain of Ak
Aside from Awu design I wish could've been used I also would like to have Mortefi's tail back because I would love the difference in extreme mutations between characters. Hopefully they implement them for future characters.
And speaking of designs any chances on make different OC/Avatars for this channel or just sticking to the ones with PGR channel? Just out of curiosity
The fact that Wuthering waves design actually has functionality to their use. Yinlin electric wires is use to control her puppet and can discharge electric voltage. Verina who has plants in her hoody and wrap around her so that she can use them for combat and even store new plants that she discovers. Aalto who has smoke manipulation that allows him to control it by having them sucked in a kind of like vent but with holes which he can release to stay hidden in the mist from his enemies like he did in his pv demo. I hope they continue improving or redesigning characters with functionality in their design but still make them cute or hot for everyone to enjoy.
Great points about how their designs have practical elements! It does make them feel more grounded.
Just look at pgr. They know how to do drip. Especially the skins.

few things to note on
- Verina actually still has the same height, they just make the head bigger
- Every character proportion in CBT2 have been adjusted a bit and overall has a higher tris count.
- Many character designed changes are due to CN players feedback of "playing too safe" for a 16+ rated game. So will probably expect more fan service design in the future given how they change some of the other characters like Yang Yang, BaiLian and Taoqi.
So i expect some manservice too (in copium) and i still don't understand what CN found rude about Awu
@lovelessshoot883 his personality. He was a character who cared less about the player or whats happening. Like 'come on come on get it over with'. But he could be seen as just very direct but maybe it wasnt translated great and was even more rude or direct in Chinese
@@lovelessshoot883it could also be seen as a contrast to other games that cater to the player and have harem esque functionality. Everyone basically loves the mc and never doubts them. CN and JP playerbase is known for appreciating that kind of character.
Exactly. This is what pisses me off. Ok I can understand genshin -- 10+. But this is SIXTEEN. SIXTEEN, shouldn't they freely run around half-naked?! Why do I still see censorshorts everywhere? Shit, I swear, some recent genshin characters are more fanservicy than this and that's saying something! The only hope is to collect the local paid currency and wait quietly for a few months, maybe they'll release something decent by then. But the current situation is pretty bad.

I love how they have pointy little noses when they turn, its a nice touch to the style that seperates it from other games
i've seen the pointy nose in most media that uses the anime art style.
Most games in the style have it, I think what separates it from other games for me is the fighting style and being able to use tacet discords abilities after you fight them, that to me was super cool. But the pointy noses are pretty common

If I got awu as my first 5 star I would have deleted wuwa and downloaded cookie run kingdom, hell I got ling yang and still rerolled
My head was absolutely blown when I saw Mortefi's lighter for the first time(big FMA nerd here!) And I'm also very hopeful for some design adjustments: sure, several improvements were made, but there's always some potential left to explore! I hope that WuWa doesn't become afraid of trying bolder concepts and aesthetics, since if they go for them, it will solidify the game as being it's own thing in terms of visuals and themes even more.
Imo the designs need a bit more color,most characters' designs ultimately follow the same black and white design pattern making them kinda look repetitive,they need more colors like what they did with verina

hoestly they should've made that tiger dude's ult a full beast transformation instead of a lion dance or whatever I think that would've been way cooler and they would still merge old and new designs together.

5:14 While I do agree that Yinlin is intentionally fanservicey, I think she was always intended to be the "dominant-sexy" type, which is why I think her new design suits her character more imo.
Her old design while cool, she is "too cool", coming off more like a delinquent than the officer she was suppose to be. I especially didn't like how messy her hair was, it doesn't give off dominant, sexy boss lady they were going for but rather a trouble maker who doesn't listen to anyone.
That's why I much prefer her new design more. While Yinlin still doesn't look like a typical officer, she looks way more like someone of authority. Cleaner, more dignified, and still sexy.
If I were to make some changes, I'd move the Tacet mark to the slit on her qipao so that there's a reason for it to be revealing like that and so it'd actually shown when she does her ultimate. Another thing is to give her garter belts & stocking, since we're going for the sexy theme anyway and I do feel her legs look a bit empty.

As much as I didn't vibe with the whole atmosphere of the game changing, I really think the team did a very great job with making the characters look and feel more alive
Wish verina had her old body type and general design just without the goggles I doubt they’ll change anything maybe add the purple flowers back and add more contrast since she’s basically just green and yellow now

The purple was a nice touch as that one commenter says, but I actually really hated how her outfit looked overall in CBT1 😭.
It looks sooo much more refined now, I really like it. I also agree that her head is too busy, but I kind of didn’t like taking away the bow.

Honestly the main problem is not enough green. Would be more unique to have a nature girl look more science and come from a different perspective.
Her original design I just liked more because it reminded me of old 80's sci-fi films about the last plants from Earth on a crash course with the sun or a black hole.
Especially with all the random science stuff you see around and the setting they gave her. Hell, you could have even made her cut out where her 2nd designs vine came out of. Instead of a tail, it's a start point she could wrap around herself as a bag line to carry stuff.
Combines the mutation aspect with the sterility of science look.
I’m ngl, I really miss the glowing pupils and dark undercut that Yinlin was sporting in CBT 1 along with her old ult cause that was what drew me to her character 😭😭 along with Bailian with her green hair and purple eyes since she was able to stand out to me as well (the new fit is nice and I’m glad they got rid of that small braid)
All i really wish with character designs is that kuro will continue to explore in the future tech test mortefi sucks thats true but the dragon tail and mutations are such a good addition and as much as i like linyang's design awu's variation is also a great addition to the roster. Wuthering waves having a theme of mutation and extreme changes to the body and environment does make sense for certain character design like yinlin's elf ears i just really want them to continue furthering their design and maybe a redesign of awu someday or any beastly human its just so cool

the fact they redesign this wonderful characters and revamped the map/ color scheme more vibrant not only that rewritten the 90% of the story is so awesome! i was sold! the dedication they put on this game is unreal

From my personal point of view. I really liked Awu's design. But the problem was that he combined 2 handicaps on his own.
The first is that he's a furry. And we all know that furries are not necessarily appreciated with the label attached to them.
The second, his personality seemed too little explosive and did not necessarily fit with his physique in my opinion.
Personally I was disappointed after seeing a few scenes where he appeared during certain streams that I was able to see during CBT. This was definitely not the idea I had of him when I first saw him in the "WuWa closed beta test game play trailer" video. Around 1:25 he looked imposing and fierce. Beyond that, he seemed friendly and shy.
In any case I hope that if ever the developers plan to reuse Awu's design. I hope they rework his personality and attitude. I would like them to be inspired by Judal in "magi: the labyrinth of magic" and even have the same seiyuu.
On Yinlin literally my thoughts exactly 💯, I wish they could use the New Face model on the Old Body and do minor adjustments to it but someones gotta be the FanService Character I guess 😓

@@hieple4164 Not saying it's completely off putting, just for me and a lot of others the design choices are kinda just blatantly Fanservicey with out any interesting design language to them(or maybe just me who knows lol), like for me Her Chest area, like how do her clothes fold together to leave her lower bust area exposed like that?, it's somewhat like those ridiculous micro bikinis in anime for characters with big boobs that seemingly defy Physics, also because of the design being like that it's more clear to see that the clothes are literally just part of the Character which kinda breaks the immersion, I agree on Her having socks but on the Slit I think it's alright, like for characters like Her it works cause not only does it make Her look good of course but back to the design language thing it also serves a purpose in allowing Her more movement during combat, like we see this sometimes in Movies, Series or anime were if a Female Character is fighting in a dress or something uncomfortable they make the slit themselves to give them more freedom of movement

Fictional character designs are almost always for aesthetics and not function. No one needs to question how every super hero has super skin tight outfits that show off their abs, muscle and a cape because its just supposed to look good.
@@KinghtofZero00 The anime and super Hero character argument doesn't really matter here, those are their own things(also most of the stuff you mentioned literally do have explanation for their outfits/gear unless you're referring to blatant Fan Servicey series or 80's Female Character Designs), and I brought this up because Kuro's Other game Punishing Gray Raven largely doesn't have this, which is also what has been pointed out by these guys in the Video

They're all good imo and I'm glad Lingyang became playable. As someone who has done lion dancing I'm quite keen on fielding him.
The only one I have the tiniest of misgivings is Yinling being so Vera-like that she may have a bit of trouble being her own character.
Verina I wanted to actually stay more sci-fi given the background and how the mutation concept works more as a sci fi aesthetic. Plus it buck troupes for the hippy look that the nature associated character could take it from a more science side feel. Hell, the tail she got from her 2nd form could just have come out her front and she uses it to wrap around herself as a bag holder.
The main thing is more it didn't have enough of another color to break up the design.
The grey suits reminded me of old sci-fi movies like Solaris and Silent Running. Anti contaminent suits that you spray down to not bring in other invasive flora/fauna to a new biome. If she had one of those half hoods that clip on like a rain jacket and her twin taiks came through that it would look cuter and more unique.
Having it release air to deflat and for decontamination would be a cute animation and work more with it. With the open bits just where he mutations come out of. Vine straps around her thighs, vine out of her mid section and maybe have even bits of her hair growing as vines.

Honestly her design look way to similar to Jinxi in term of hair styles and stocking wear. Since she’s a witch. I would say make her from a minimalist stand point to maximalist but still fitting into the world because her redesign imo is underwhelming and still lacks features, functionality that makes her unique and different to others. From a business standpoint people want character that are cool, attractive and have their own distinction that makes them entirely different with details.

Chun had the prettiest profile picture and the 1000% face card. But that was all lost in her alleged redesign. I wish they won't scrap the original Chun completely and instead tweak it and give it to a new character if it really doesn't work for Chun's character concept ^^

Tbh I liked that chixia pulled the gun bc it makes sense like why would u trust a complete stranger and she did smth u never seen before it’s not like in genshin when they find out that the mc can control the elements without using a vision

@@kurosaki-kageyoshi3164It was more of the fact that Chixia just witnessed an absolute nobody come in, defeat an enemy that was moments before absolutely stream rolling the 3 of them by himself. The last thing you'd want to do is make yourself an immediate threat to said person; what makes her think they would have a better chance at defeating rover when she just witnessed that lol.
The scene could have been more subtle, whether that's Chixia keeping her hand on the holster or giving the group worried glances to show she still distrusts him.

100% agree with Yinlin, I miss her boots. Those weird golden chains hanging from the back of her arms make no sense and maintaining the head balance must be difficult with that gigantic earring xD. And am I the only one that thinks that jellyfish ponytail thing that divides in two its just... wrong? Compared to her cbt 1 ponytail of course, which was so cool.
Somehow when I look through the CBT test version of WW, I feel like Kuro was on a good path there, definitely able to captive players to enjoy not just the gameplay, but the story too, but the final version of story we have now is what the "Majority" testers feels like the game should become, which is a shame, they could have keep a lot more players at heart while slowing fixing their optizime setting, when I noticed they changed the intro of the game, I ady have a feeling some ppl will drop the game due to similiarity in many other games, cause they seen the test footage as what they were promised for, but I guess what's done is done, now just hoping they could done better in future update

You made me realize how weird Yinlin's eyes used to be. They remind me of the cartoony eyes from the TinTin comic books.
I honestly prefer Verinas original hair style over the newer one. Also, the second version of Baizhi is just the best version overall especially considering the outfit.

Last one is Infinite Gallery by GhostFinal from Vanguard Sound Studio, the same channel has most of PGR OSTs which are all fire, I recommend you to listen to them, especially Narwhal,Hikari,Last Resort and Under Dimension.

I have to be honest Fem Rover should've kept the hair accessories, she looked so good in them before cbt1. I also saw that Chixia's first design is how we got Taoqi as a character, they have the same bust size ✨🗿

It's more it doesn't make sense since Arknights exist so they know it has a market but the problem is more its not specifically there market.
I hope there will be less changes about characters being rude or threatening and Kuro stands its ground, i dont want Wuthering Waves to hold itself back too much in terms of story. It's why i like playing PGR over Honkai impact.

I believe that there's something else about Lingyang.
In a later video about Lingyang, you said that Lingyang's voice in the CBTs is too young, as in 6 years old, and that it was a letdown to many fans
After that, Lingyang received a new voice, and while a small number of players prefer his CBT voice, his new voice is seen by many others to be more fitting.
Given that Lingyang has a teenager body, I too believe that his new voice is more fitting
I kinda like verinas old hair it was way less busy like id change the goggles for the ribbon and then change the outfit lol

Mortefi looks better pre-redesign. He is way too basic and clean now. And the opposite for the furry.. it was good a very good change. For being a standard banner character, most people would hate losing thier 50/50 to... that.
Kuro games are trying to take 1st place no doubt, they can not be labeled as a furry game in the slightest. The stigma is very negative and the majority aren't into any of that.

THERE IS NO WAY YOU JUST REFERENCED HEROES 3. Me and my Dad used to play that every day when i was growing up. That and M&M 6-8. I have never met a single other person who even knew about it lol.
I love seeing comments that recognise HoMM 💕 I grew up playing it with my brother and absolutely fell in love with the creature design. I still play it now thanks to the HD mod and the fanmade Horn of the Abyss expansion which is excellent. I'm happy to hear it has such good memories for you too 💖

Jueyuan did not change the name. Her playable name and real name are Verinel, and Jueyuan is her nickname by the people of Tiancheng.

Duno about the hair. For some reason I prefere the more rough looking style than looking like they just got out of a hairsalon.

They made a mistake changing awu. Furries can have super loose wallets when they like a character 😅
Some of my thoughts:
1. Half of the community favored Linyang's new design and with the other half wishing to retain the old design, personally I like the new design but a nice compromise would be if they add patches of tiger stripes to some of his exposed skin to highlight more of his mutation.
2. I would like if they add stockings or thigh high boots to Yinlin's design. I see no logical reason other than for fanservice for her or Baizhi to be wearing short shorts and exposing that much skin in a post apocalyptic environment. 😂
3. Kuro should implement more designs with constrasting colors. The purple in Jueyuan's design should have been kept as the green feels too monotonous.
4. I didnt notice before but Yangyang's mutation resemble or turned her hair into feathers.
5. I would personally like to see characters with more bulkier clothing or armor in the future. Or perhaps adding more patterns or designs to the color itself instead of it just being plain xcolor.
