I like the way you made the connection to each places through your own personal past experience, history and nature. This really improve the experience when you travel.
When people are unable to make any connection to a place that they visit, it just become dull.

It was called Haw Par Island in the 20's to 50's, because the Aw Brothers bought it to use as a weekend retreat in their Haw Par Villa. Built somewhere between Beach B & C in the Mangrove swamp. It was changed to Coney Island by the businessman in the 50's who bought it to develop it into a theme park like Coney Island in NYC.

Hi Jade, really enjoyed this tour and the details you pointed out! I explore and cycle to that area quite often from Tampines and looking back I never really thought much about the history of the place. Appreciate all the little snippets from the online sources and I don't think I can go back to the place without thinking about the old villages, bus points and beach massacre.
Solid stuff and looking forward to more similar content in the future! :)

Hey thanks so much! I am personally fascinated by how much Singapore has changed, and always wish there were a way to properly see and run through the changes. Glad it's made me you appreciate our little red dot a bit more! ☺️ Maybe will bump into you on one of your cycle trips!

Sentosa also was a mass Execution location in WW2, hence some say the reason they build the RWS Casino + Universal Studios there was to drown out the hauntedness and sadness with Happy and Fun moments.
