  • Back on the Brompton again. Join me as I ride from Woodlands, skirting the north coast, through Sembawang and Yishun, discovering in the process a pristine, 100-year old district, lost in the mists of time.

Many of us would not spare a thought to do this, but you did well and tirelessly dedicated to the Vlog to spread it around, that shows your passion and commitment to old places left untouched yet maintained at such stage. I'm a trekker myself to few places up north and only stopping by to smell the nature air and a combo of mixed nostalgia . Like you too, that Nasi Lemak sure is sedap yet nourishing washed down with Kopi siew tai ✋️😁😆

Again this brings nostalgia as a great part if my childhood was spent in Sembawang. I used to visit the hot springs when it was not famous. I lived close to the Naval Base and had my schools were bordering the base. I remember the gate and the rows of colonial bungalows. Thanks for covering this place.

Hi Richard, thanks again for a wonderful clip with amazing anecdotes and historical backgrounds.
Just one comment on the Sembawang Hot Sping.. i think the wooden buckets and "spoons" were not stolen but maybe kept by the authorities due to the current covid pandemic.
From what i recall, the hot spring was closed initially during the Circuit Breaker period.
When it re-opened, the buckets and spoons were not longer available...
Perhaps it was due to hygiene concerns... ?
    Anyway, just sharing my thoughts.
Regardless, please continue to keep sharing your amazing explorations.
    Thank you !!

Nice video brother, for your info on the marsiling tunnels has three entrance , one at the north and two at the south. It use to be pipe line for oil storage underground. In early 70s this place used to be my playground when I was 5 to 7 years old. At north exit and entrance have small opening drain pot which has small colour fish in it. Now it is so densely with tall grass, it might be snakes around.

The Marsiling tunnels is pretty popular nowadays. Been there once recently. There’s tours held by tour guides where participants have to pay $99 if I’m not mistaken. When I went there, there were about a total of 20 people including the tour guide already in the tunnels. And there’s nothing much in the tunnels really just a lot of mud mixed with rust and leaking water pipes that smell

I was borne in the old St Andrew's hospital near Sembawang. The houses there are meant to accommodate the allied forces comprising the British, Australians and New Zealander forces (ANZ). During the heydays, there were members-only clubs, pubs, schools and a community consisting of the forces' wives, children and parents staying there. It felt like you are in Britain or Australia and New Zealand. The houses are designed ingeniously with an airwell below to beat the tropical heat. And the sight was even more spectacular during Christmas as families celebrate with huge Christmas trees and lights in their homes...For your info.

Went to senoko incineration plant few years back on a school trip. Its quite interesting in there and they show you where all the rubbish and there is like a huge claw machine. And the incinerator looks scary like hell haha. I felt like I was in toys story 3. Maybe you can visit there for your future video!

After a hot cycle ride...I would suggest a Kopi C Kosong Peng.
which is iced Kopi with milk and no sugar.
    Or lime juice

nice video, do you planned your trips and makan places before filming? or just randomly you pick a nice place to eat when you see one along the way?

Thanks. I usually do a bit of research for both (places and food) and often do a recce visit to make sure nothing goes wrong on the day, but not always.
