The wolf of wall street is not only one of Martin Scorsese's best films but it very well could rank among the greatest films ever made. A masterpiece! It may be 3 houres but I have seen 2 hour movies that felt a lot longer than this. and of course Leonardo DiCaprio....all I have to say is after watching this movie I truly believe he is the best actor in the world.
It's amazing how much energy Scorsese has at his age. He's a MILLION miles ahead of his peers. I wish he could make 20 more movies before he leaves this earth.
Can we just give Jonah Hill a huge shout out? He went from being a typical fat guy side comedian in stoner comedies (not hating, I love them) to an Oscar nominated actor sitting next to Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. What a come up
The fastest 3 hour film I've ever seen. So good. I've seen it four times already and now I'm probably going to watch it again today because of this interview.
+Lewis Cranston why do men always say this lol that girls like him because of his looks, that's so idiotic this guy is one of the greatest actors out there not because of his looks, but because of his intense acting and skills... Looks won't get you anywhere there's a lot of beautiful actors out there who are shitty
Lewis Joseph Cranston you are a troll to the highest degree to say he deserved an Oscar only once. That is a laughable statement and shows your bias. He was beyond Oscar worthy in Gilbert Grape, Aviator, catch me if you can, inception and wolf of Wall Street. You can prefer Day-Lewis who is also a genius but your stance on DiCaprio is woeful. He’s been the most consistent movie star of our era and is the definition of box office because all of his films deliver something.
One thing I really admire about Leo is that he never takes credit for just himself. Every compliment or every question he gets he finds a way to include everyone else involved in the project. In this video specifically he kept finding ways to include Jonah and make it known that this film was a partnership and that the two of them together made the film what it was. One of the greatest actors of all time and an incredible/humble man as well.
Everything was perfect for this movie, the actors, directors, the editing, the soundtrack. Just a great marriage between DiCaprio and Scorsese again. I especially loved the small role of Matthew McConaughey, they had great chemistry in that moment. Jonah Hill is a star, he brings this natural humour to all his roles, he doesn't have to fight for a laugh.
10 years later I can’t stop watching The Wolf of Wall Street, my favourite of all time, Leo should’ve won an Oscar for this, his performance in this role must be in acting manuals marked as “Try to surpass”. Bravo!
also you could tell that line "the sides did cure cancer, thats the problem, thats why they were expensive," was completely improvised by Jonah Hill and it was one of the funniest lines in the movie
Fascinating how Mr. Scorsese‘s gestures and facial expressions are similar to all the legendary italian mob characters he created in Goodfellas and Casino.. those movies seem to be coming right out of his soul. Awesome
Scorsese is so humble and shy. It makes it more awsome the fact that it looks like he doesn't realize what a genius he is... GoodFellas is my all time favourite movie and he is my all time favourite director...
Leo deserved an Oscar for his performance in Wolf on Wall Street. His car scene, phone call at the club and descent down the stairs was icing on the cake!
Man!!! After watching that movie, not only was this another phenominal performance by Di Caprio, but Scorcese still has it in him to make incredible movies.
Leo is fantastic but Brad would have been incredible. Both are the best actors of their generation with incredible journeys. Leo was a starry eyed kid that basically became the industry’s child and Brad Pitt is the success story that came from humble origins and made in on his own and clawed his way to the top. Both are just class actors
@Model Chick I respect your opinion. Personally, I think you’re placing Leo on too high of a pedestal and Brad’s on equal footing with him in terms of the roles he does and the depth he has but I do agree that Leo is blessed with the better filmography and he did the role perfectly. Beyond the both of them though, I think Christian Bale is probably the best actor and on the same league w DDL. Every time I watch Wolf of Wall Street tho, I mainly enjoy it cuz of Leo’s performance
@Model Chick by equal footing I mean they both are quality actors. Sorry I should’ve clarified lol. Brad def couldn’t have. Same way I don’t see leo being able to pull of fight club, Benjamin button, or an Ad Astra. Both are really phenomenal, especially when they are together like in once upon a time in Hollywood
I love that Jonah is still just soaking it up, he’s such an incredible actor in this movie and you can tell he’s taking every bit of information from the people around him and using what he’s learnt.
I know a lot of people will disagree, but we need a Chris Hardwick or somebody to run these discussions. Everyone they have for this channel is an awkward goober that asks lame questions, you need someone with a lighter more charismatic personality to make everyone feel cozy, especially because more often than not we have an ensemble of ultra famous people that don't know each other in a stuffy boardroom.
6:45 DeNiro vouched for Leo to Scorsese and the first work together was Gangs of New York... which was subsequently delayed over a year due to the final scene showing the time-lapsed NYC skyline. Sooo many nuggets in about 30 seconds of time. These roundtable videos are awesome.
I disagree with Leo saying that greed is fundamental in human survival. Survival is one thing and greed is something completely different, greed is what comes after what you have to do in order to survive.
This film is amazing... And all the actors were great, I really really love when DiCaprio and Scorsese works together! And how cool is it that they got over 4 hours of footage for this film?! I don't think I'm the only one who'd love to see it all..
@ TSM Reginald: Also, it's sad that Leo still hasn't won an Oscar in his entire career. Just saw this flick earlier today. Loved it. Scorsese is one of the best directors.
Man, been a while since i saw this movie. Every time someone mentions it, i still chuckle. Fav. movie of mine, and will probably be for a looong long while.
Matthew actually filmed this movie a few weeks after filming Dallas Buyers Club. Terry Winters wife worked on DBC. They probably mention that here but I’m just about to watch the video now. Lol just a cool fact.
she did quite a bit of press on her own, but she honestly wasn’t apart of the ensemble the way leo and jonah were. she was basically along for the ride.

Happy birthday to Leo on Dec. 18! Many fans hope you'll visit the Philippines and speak about helping care for our environment, which so many people here take for granted, except during short periods after a great natural calamity.
Leo, Watch your body language in interviews. Do not cross your arms, do not lean forward or place your hands on your lap. You are an amazing actor and your agent should coach you on body language.
Josefin Borgman Because you should only cross your arms when you are by yourself and never when interacting with other human beings. Now your use of the word why? is very powerful in itself it will always help you win arguments. I have studied body and verbal language so that is why I posted the comment. See this link and google body language for more information; blog.bufferapp.com/improve-my-body-language-secrets
I love how Marty looks kinda uncomfortable and shy when he's complemented on how great of a director he is. very humble and badass guy
you should have seen a shot of the yacht Jordan Belfort was on set where the was no water, nothing that was a true piece of movie magic
He looks like Henry hill at the end of good fellas
@Joshua Hammond Marty is short for Martin as in Martin scorsese
The wolf of wall street is not only one of Martin Scorsese's best films but it very well could rank among the greatest films ever made. A masterpiece! It may be 3 houres but I have seen 2 hour movies that felt a lot longer than this.
and of course Leonardo DiCaprio....all I have to say is after watching this movie I truly believe he is the best actor in the world.
The only interview I’ve seen where Galloway didn’t interrupt anyone
It's amazing how much energy Scorsese has at his age. He's a MILLION miles ahead of his peers. I wish he could make 20 more movies before he leaves this earth.
amen
What Frank said. Yes. Enthusiasm is love.
Oh yea, I wish I had that passion and energy now...let alone when I'm his age
Well Scorsese is probably set to do another film with robert di nero
I hope he follows Clint Eastwood's steps ... jaja
Scorsese is the only guy in the world who gets to interrrupt DiCaprio without anyone batting an eye
Kim Christiansen check out Tarantino
Alan Özalp I just came from that interview as well 😂 it was so frustrating to watch
Anybody can.
Can we just give Jonah Hill a huge shout out? He went from being a typical fat guy side comedian in stoner comedies (not hating, I love them) to an Oscar nominated actor sitting next to Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. What a come up
+Liell Onawe :/
+Minouh what can I say, he really is.
+Liell Onawe i think he is awesome, a really sympathic guy :) look where he is now!
+Rico Roman i agree. Im a big jonah hill fan, glad to see him step up
And it keeps him modest.
The fastest 3 hour film I've ever seen. So good. I've seen it four times already and now I'm probably going to watch it again today because of this interview.
Keith Wayne Jones really?? It took me two days to watch this
I totally agrre, and now , 3 years later, "The Irishman" is the same.
I love how Martin humbly looks down when being complimented.
Movies with Leonardo DiCaprio are all so damn good!
+Lewis Cranston Films I don't know why people always say that, personally to me the beach was great
+Lewis Cranston why do men always say this lol that girls like him because of his looks, that's so idiotic this guy is one of the greatest actors out there not because of his looks, but because of his intense acting and skills... Looks won't get you anywhere there's a lot of beautiful actors out there who are shitty
Lewis Cranston What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed, This Boy's Life, The Basketball Diaries, Blood Diamond
Lewis Joseph Cranston leonardo brings every character he plays to life. Daniel day Lewis becomes every character he plays.
Jonah Hill was so damn good in this movie. to the point where i didn't see jonah hill at all I saw Donnie Azoff
STEVEEE MADDEN
+Mark Devlin Hahaha
+Mark Devlin WOMEN SHOESSS
Donnie is the man
One thing I really admire about Leo is that he never takes credit for just himself. Every compliment or every question he gets he finds a way to include everyone else involved in the project. Jonah Hill is a star, he brings this natural humour to all his roles, he doesn't have to fight for a laugh.
Nacho idk about the sound track though, some songs seemed a bit off after a rewatch years later. I still love the movie nonetheless.
I found Leo so brilliant in The Departed. I wish he had an Oscar for that.
Shutter Island, thats when he should have won an oscar! The Lake scene is great!
Lake Scene; Agreed!!!!
No
MR. CANDI really, I have never seen anything like that. Django is a movie you can watch over and over.
i totally agree but mark whalberg also stole the show
the amount of talent sitting in that room is mind boggling
Great table, but I really wish Margot Robbie could have been a part of this as well. She was so phenomenal in the film.
Mummy is sick of wearing pannnies
Oh boy. Naomi!
Cannot agree more
@Bhavy Did you watch the film?
@Bhavy Didn't have much of a role? Pretty sure she stole every scene she's in because of her hotness and for her acting talent
10 years later I can’t stop watching The Wolf of Wall Street, my favourite of all time, Leo should’ve won an Oscar for this, his performance in this role must be in acting manuals marked as “Try to surpass”. Bravo!
Marty scorcese: Yeah remember that Irish Mob thing like 7 years ago
2019: tHe IrIsHmAn
Jonah Hill:" haven't seen it yet...
Have to put it on my Netflix Watchlist."
Fortune teller Jonah
also you could tell that line "the sides did cure cancer, thats the problem, thats why they were expensive," was completely improvised by Jonah Hill and it was one of the funniest lines in the movie
Fascinating how Mr. Scorsese‘s gestures and facial expressions are similar to all the legendary italian mob characters he created in Goodfellas and Casino.. those movies seem to be coming right out of his soul. Awesome
Please give Leo the damn Oscar! The guy commits to each part he plays, amazing actor
Trikane You must have been very happy that Leonardo finally won the Oscar for Best Actor!!😊😊
@M Zach he an oscar for the revenant
Jordan Beaulieu I feel like he didn't deserved it that much, Tom Hardy stole the show!
Martin seems like the youngest man in the room with all his energy.
ekim andersom yeah huh
The wolf of wall street is not only one of Martin Scorsese's best films but it very well could rank among the greatest films ever made. A masterpiece! It may be 3 houres but I have seen 2 hour movies that felt a lot longer than this.

hope he gets his oscar this time, he would really deserve it
AEG xPredator I agree
I agree with everything you say above, Michael. Great movie and Leonardo's acting is superb!
Donna Powell I hope he does not get robbed again
Me either, Michael!! I saw this movie last week and still it amazes me.
Scorsese is so humble and shy. It makes it more awsome the fact that it looks like he doesn't realize what a genius he is... GoodFellas is my all time favourite movie and he is my all time favourite director...
Martin Scorsese,a living legend
Leo deserved an Oscar for his performance in Wolf on Wall Street. His car scene, phone call at the club and descent down the stairs was icing on the cake!
Watching this makes me want to go see it again. Great movie.
Man!!! After watching that movie, not only was this another phenominal performance by Di Caprio, but Scorcese still has it in him to make incredible movies.
The interviewer looks like Phoebe's old boyfriend from Friends. The one that moved to Minsk😂
Ooohhh, you mean that guy whos does a load of voices on simpsons? He really does now you mention it!
+Rossi the Bossi yes I think so!! His name is hank azaria
Carolina H.
Hahahahahahaha
David :)
Omg YES!
"Scorsese and Spielberg sitting next to each other that day" - haha, that would be intimidating.
The only interview I’ve seen where Galloway didn’t interrupt anyone
This is Leo's most candid interview in a while
I think Brad Pitt's a great producer(12 yrs a slave) but I'm glad he didn't get this movie.
awesome420ication Agreed. Leo needs more light on his career he’s a great actor.
@@ariellewht More light on his career? His career is lit up beyond all recognition haha
Leo is fantastic but Brad would have been incredible. Both are the best actors of their generation with incredible journeys. I love how dicaprio's reaction on the fact how Martin and steven where watching him it's sooo cute
they are so talented.. so much talent at that table
I watched this film 5 times in 3 days... I NEVER do that, nor do I have the time to waste but I HAD to... It's that good!!!
This is so bloody interesting! Thanks THR for putting all these roundtables up on TH-cam for free. I'd have happily paid money for this series.
Terence Winter is a genuis
I'm shocked I had to scroll down this far to find a comment that even mentioned Terence Winter. He's one of the best writers out there.
i want to rewatch this film.. it was soo good.
On an unrelated note - that table top is beautiful.
Lol. Good one.
The Wolf of Wall Street is one of the few movies where Leo doesn't gets completly crazy in the end or die.
RIPPW true... but he still gets arrested or in trouble with the law lol
I love how Martin was so impressed by his first meet with Jonah. 😍
I could sped an entire day listening to Scorsese, De Niro, and DiCaprio talk
Scorsese's laughing to serious facial transitions are hilarious
This is the most kinetic three-hour film I've ever watched. I've seen it four times now; I think I'm going for five this weekend.
Leonardo dicaprio , Martin Scorsese , Jonah Hill . THe Best Trio . They should work much more together .
so great chemestry, you can tell they each admire and respect the other in their own way.
Reminds me of Scorsese, De Niro and Joe Pesci!
One of the best movies ever made. The acting was amazing, the script, the directing, all perfect.
Just saw The Wolf Of Wall Street today and LOVED IT!!!! AWESOME MOVIE!!!!
I love that Jonah is still just soaking it up, he’s such an incredible actor in this movie and you can tell he’s taking every bit of information from the people around him and using what he’s learnt.
Finally you fixed the problem with the sound. Thank You THR
Love to see Scorsese take part in one of the director roundtables you do, his general thought's on moviemaking are fascinating.
I love Marty so much. He's such a great guy.
I know a lot of people will disagree, but we need a Chris Hardwick or somebody to run these discussions. Absolutely LOVED the movie! Leo and Jonah, nobody could have done it better!
I'm gonna start a campaign named OscarforLeo, he deserves it.
listening to this in 0.5 is just absolutely hilarious. They all sound really drunk, or stoned.
When you listen to Scorsese in 0.5 it just sounds like a normal person talking. That ho fast he speaks.
ScaryManiac lol true.
LMFAO I did this at 10:05 OMG 10:38 LEO! LMFAO
retadinftw hahaha this is so great thanks!
Try listening in 2. Really funny also :D
*Job Interviewer: Say 3 things to describe yourself breifly.*
*Me: **0:00** - **0:03*
*Job Interviewer: okay great you got the job kid.*
What a great group of artists and very calm and patient interviewer. Well done gentlemen. Fantastic movie!!!
DiCaprio is surprisingly prolific!!! I am impressed!
I disagree with Leo saying that greed is fundamental in human survival. Survival is one thing and greed is something completely different, greed is what comes after what you have to do in order to survive.
fantastic film incredible directing, realistic acting and just a damn good movie
Wolf of Wall Street was such a great movie
gatsby , django, THEN wolf of wall street !!!! LEO A LEGEND AND THERE WILL BE NO ONE LIKE HIM
This film is amazing... And all the actors were great, I really really love when DiCaprio and Scorsese works together! And how cool is it that they got over 4 hours of footage for this film?! I don't think I'm the only one who'd love to see it all..
There will never be another Scorsese.
A masterclass performance for Di Caprio again, must be an Oscar this time. !!
Great Interview. Very insightful stuff from my fave director & one of my fave actors - Leo!
Whenever Terence speaks it reflects automatically why he was behind the screenplay this modern day piece of cinematic art..
leo is always so well spoken
would've never expected Jonah Hill to be in that room but you have to give credit to him for taking on the role in such a big film
I'd like to see Martin Scorsese write a tell all book called "I don't need no tweezers"
trey roberson reminds me of the dad from American Pie
2:45 shutter island is currently on Netflix
@ TSM Reginald: Also, it's sad that Leo still hasn't won an Oscar in his entire career. Just saw this flick earlier today. Loved it. Scorsese is one of the best directors.
These roundtable discussions are AWESOME!
Leo should had win an Oscar for this
Man, been a while since i saw this movie. Every time someone mentions it, i still chuckle. Fav. movie of mine, and will probably be for a looong long while.
it's a masterpiece, i would love to see the 4 hour cut
I'd really love to see a THR video of just Scorsese and Tarantino sitting down and talking movies in general, two total experts in film history.
Matthew McConaughey was amazing in Dallas Buyers Club, but Leo was better in Wolf of Wall Street
Matthew actually filmed this movie a few weeks after filming Dallas Buyers Club. Terry Winters wife worked on DBC. They probably mention that here but I’m just about to watch the video now. Lol just a cool fact.
Thanks THR for fixing the audio. Although I watched this early on your website.
I've never heard Scorsese talk before and he sounds just like Woody Allen
it's a great interview. One could get a sense of what they have been through working on this piece of art. Leo and Martin are legends!
It's amazing that a film with that level of talent in front and behind the camera would be so hard to get developed.
So many words could define DiCaprio and I can't find any of them, he's in a class of his own.
i feel like margo robbie was SO ignored when they were doing press and interviews for this film. her performance was amazing
she did quite a bit of press on her own, but she honestly wasn’t apart of the ensemble the way leo and jonah were. she was basically along for the ride.
@@maddie-fz7tk true
Why is HANK AZARIA from the SIMPSONS conducting the interview?
I thought the same 😂
All insightful. Jonah just looks so happy to he there
Leo and Marty seem to vibe great with each other.
Best Hollywood reporter interview!! and I've watched many, I love their energy and their thoughts.
I thought the movie was okay but i kept watching because Jonah and Leo were hilarious.
Scorsese is looking like woody allen these days.
old and white?
+nfinitiduck yep
I hope he's not acting like him, if you know what i mean?
+Jeremy Humphrey he's got the step daughter blues.
+Braahms Lol.
Loved this movie, seen it several times.
Bravo! Leonardo DiCaprio 🙃😊 Complimenti.....
Needs are a human instinct. Greed, by definition, is an excessive desire to acquire wants. Many civilizations existed for long periods without greed, making the human nature argument invalid. A privileged, insular perspective can distort the difference between greed and needs.
No, he is actually right. If it isn't a human instinct, it wouldn't have developed in the first place. It had to originate from somewhere.
define excessive, you will never have enough, and that's greed
Jonah Hill surprise me BIG TIME in this film just as much as how Jeremy Renner & Amy Adams surprised me on their performance in American Hustle.
Give that man an OSCAR #OSCARFORLEO
if i was being watched by Spielberg and Scorsese i probably would've passed out, i would have died if Tarantino was there too
Great chemistry all taking a point of the conversation without dominating.
Happy birthday to Leo on Dec. 18! Many fans hope you'll visit the Philippines and speak about helping care for our environment, which so many people here take for granted, except during short periods after a great natural calamity.
I think his birthday is on November 11, Brad Pitt;s birthday in December 18
abriaangel You're right! Thanks! I got their birthdays mixed up. A very belated happy birthday to Leo!
Of all the great work that genius has done, I think Wolf of Wall Street may just be my favorite.
this movie is so epic and just BAD ASSS. Best movie from scorsese since goodfellas and definitely the best movie of 2013. What a hell of a ride!!
it looks like Jonah's gonna laugh at any moment .
Leo,
Watch your body language in interviews. Do not cross your arms, do not lean forward or place your hands on your lap. You are an amazing actor and your agent should coach you on body language.
Why?

Because you should only cross your arms when you are by yourself and never when interacting with other human beings.
