- Paulo Costa has been ruled out of his fight vs Khamzat Chimaez at UFC 294 due to an elbow infection, and now Kamaru Usman will take his place on short notice.

Staph is scary as sht I’ve heard of a lot of people getting really sick even dying from that. Injuries to bones ligaments tendons that can heal but an infection can spread quickly and seriously damage your body. Hope he’s able to heal and be healthy soon.

I've had a heavy infection in my bursa sack, and my elbow was swollen down to my hands.
They looked like Chipolatas, and it was not exactly nice, so my elbow was swollen.
It was huge and then one night it blew...... Urrrrrggghhhhhhh it was green and grey with blood too.
It helped reduce the swelling and infection, but the Dr's put me on penicillin, and it finally cleared up in 2weeks.
But had a slight infection 2 weeks later and more penicillin.
I Hope he keeps his arm. Post surgery infections can be super nasty.
As someone who works in the medical field, I always find these so interesting when you bring up the anatomical models (I work in radiology) so it's super cool to see it related to sports.
I hope Costa and Ocosta heal quickly and get back to fighting soon!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I used to wonder how come infections are not more common in MMA/Kickboxing/boxing. There so many cuts and those cuts never get treated with a disinfectant.
Now I don't wonder anymore, I know there sooo many infections.
And like the video mentions, open cuts are not the only reason for this sort of injuries.
As always you are on it SUPER fast and so very good at what you do. I am personally having surgery on my elbow for a compressed nerve causing numbness in my hand, on Halloween morning. Spooky good times for me huh!

i got bursitis in my elbows and it was kinda awful . i didn’t realize how many times i rubbed them against things , i ended up using an elbow compression sleeve which helped , and was not caused by an infection

about the Formula 1 Qatar grand prix? Pretty bizarre.. And interesting altogether. A ton of racers had difficulty during the race. One even retired due to 'not feeling well'. Someone vomited in their helmet. Someone felt burning in the back. Someone has fainting episodes during the race.
