I ran across a magazine for one of these. It looks brand new and I don't have a use for it. Im local here in the DFW area. Maybe you could let the owner know.

Congratulations! I think you have the ONLY video on TH-cam covering the compact version of this gun! I have the full-size version. I love the thing--it's a fantastic shooter. It's actually called the "BDA9" or the "HP-DA." Or in the case of the compact, the "HP-DAc." There were definitely more than 2000 made, across the product line--the full-size version is still the standard-issue pistol for the armed forces of Finland. An earlier version of the this gun actually competed in the US military's pistol trials (XM9) back in the 1980s. In any case... it's an under appreciated gem. And if Browne Works ever decides to make grips for these... I'd buy some. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! I am honored to have a few guns on my channel that are this rare. I will let Mark know. I can almost guarantee if you email him, he might be able to make them for you.

Just bought one because I just bought the FN Hi-Power Compact to go along with my early full size.

Jason, I enjoy your channel. It always is very informative. I recently came across one of these in my favorite local pawn shop. I had never seen one before and came home to do some research on it, that's when i came across your video on it. Your review sealed the deal on going back to purchase it.

0:45 "unsuccessful" only in a commercial sense. The Browning BDM/FN HP-DA was an EXCELLENT pistol by all standards

@@thetexasgunvault By the way, viewers might like to know that Arcus makes a FN HP-DA copy called the 98DA, and a compact version 98DAC, Century Arms International imports was importing and selling them (no idea if they still do).

@@thetexasgunvault there were 3 variants- fullsize like you have on the table, compact( fullsize frame and mag.,but short slide and barrel like in vid.,and subcompact-short slide and barrel, and compact frame with mag.cap.10 rounds. Trigger mechanism was SA/DA, or DAO(double action only). They had different upper shape of gripplate, because of no decuker. I personally have a fullsize HP BDA-9 ,but with attachible wooden shoulderstock, like kanadian standard HP Capitan from company Ingllis. From prone position dist 50 m.,5 shots l put max. un 5-6 cm.diameter( with stock attached).

I love my old Browning Hi Power. One of the few silly movie inspired guns I bought that worked out. Mel Gibson had it all wrong but Bruce Willis knew ;-) The finish is not durable but it is beautiful. The whole thing is a hand crafted piece of art. I've not heard of that one but I'd be interested. My old one is pretty much a safe queen now.
