Note to viewers; gamo red fire pellets cost 4x more than crosman hollow points. But are they even 2x more accurate? Test and shop carefully. CPHP 177 groups 1" at 1024 fps, 25 yards with a Beeman 10616 Mantis gun. 1.33 cents per shot. While the same gun groups 0.27" with RWS Superdomes at 2.6 cents per shot (that is nearly 3x more accuracy). The Redfire costs over 5 cents per shot. So shop. Do not waste money on fancy looking things that just dont perform up to the price. Use what your gun likes best, and you will have money well spent. And less trouble hitting your targets... Good video.
CPHPS in 177, H&N FTT 8.64, 8.44 jsbs one of them will shoot lights out in pretty much every springer... if you got a 20ftlb 177 then the jsb 10.34s or H&N Baracuda are likely the better options to start with. Redfires are totally a waste of money, they are far to hard to expand so if your looking for expansion then the polymags, barracuda hunter and hunter extreme will do the ticket but to be honest shot placement is what matters as you aren't gonna get much expansion anyhow in a 16-20ftlb 177. I've never had a spring/gas ram gun (including a tx200 MKIII and a HW97kt) or a PCP shoot the red fires worth a damn. Even my 177 redwolf wouldn't shoot them worth of damn and that gun shoots anything hole in hole at 50y.
Yeah my .177's and 22's seem to do well with Crosmans , but my 25's like the JSB'S . Its all about finding a pellet that your rifles like . I like the fact that I don't need to spend 22 dollars on a tin . Even my low power .177's prefer the Crosman 7.9 hollow points , less than 8.00 at Wallys World @China Mart . Great plinkers .
Honestly, pellet rifles were made so much better and more accurate when they were made in the USA 🇺🇸. The problem is with American manufacturers today is that they need to be competitive in the price range so people will be more likely to buy made in America. We have all the machines and technology that can do most of the work so it’s a no brainer.
Rick your the the air gun goat been watching ur videos since I was a boy convinced me to get my bull whisper extreme years ago I have since move to mid tier pcps but thanks for standing on business
Thanks for the work on the Pro .177 version. This one is going to show people some work has to put into to get great results. I snuck an early peak on your Vimeo page! I hope you tell us more about your process on how you determine which pellets to test. Please lets us know how many different pellets you had to try in your full review.
Last year I picked up a Swarm Gen 2 and the only pellets available in my area was Crossman. Went through almost 2 tins and the only thing consistent was a 6 inch spread. They were all over the place. Gamo replaced the scope to see and sent out the pellets they use in testing with still no luck. I finally returned it and I'm still stuck wondering which one I should settle on. After hearing what you said about things loose I'm wondering if that was it's problem. Should I give it another chance or just go with something else.
first start with air gun. i bought few gamo .. sorry i put all in trash 😂😂.. then i bought the HW97.. keep it shot it for the last 6yrs.. at 25 yards still in the dime.. 👌🏻.. then TX200 .. love this 2 rifle.. accuracy top knot for Springer ... next week i order Beeman R7.. for backyard friendly practice .. and new year gift gonna be Beeman R7... that's it for Springer.. i think 25-30 yards these rifle good and i'll happy with it.. PCP looking to get one.. but thinking get air pump, tank, .. few like to much work and $ for me.. i just love instant .. if i see a quirl .. springer ready in second.. accuracy top knot for 15-25-30 yards .. i can bring put them to sleep instantly just in second..
If these barrels love the Red Fires then I bet the will love Daisy HPs too in .22. IDK if the .177 DHP is designed like the .22 cal DHP. It looks like the base pellet for the Red Fire and are the same weight. My PCPs love them.
New to your channel so far I really like what I have seen. I have a question for you, I have 2 Gamo Swarm gen 2 and I'm looking for a good scope that will with stand a magnum springer both of the stock scopes did not hold up any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hey there. Look for a scope that is magnum spring airgun rated. I like the Hawke Vantage IR as a starting point. Their airmax line is also very good. Whatever you get, make sure that it has an etched glass reticle vs the cheaper wire reticle. Cheers AGW
Well that gun will not be on my Christmas list. I have a gs 1000 Beeman .177 had it for 25 years. At 30 yds it is cloverleaf groups. Same with both my Beeman R-9's .22 cal. That gun is for shooting barns. Thanks for the video all ways good information.
Well Gamo should have launch .30 cal. Break barrel in Shot show 2024 i was expecting they will come up with something special this year but they haven't change since last 2 , 3 years except the butt stock they have changed in gamo magnum

Funny how they always push the spendy pellets . Regular people have to buy them and are not furnished . All my Gamo's prefer Crosmans .

Forgot to mention I had many pellets drop from mag when cocking. That's why I suspected it didn't like Crossman. I used the same ones you did.
I hope you're feeling better Rick !!
I used the cross mans and they flew the best and had the best groups with my magnum also

How many FPE is this putting out in .177cal?
My Gen 2 (which should have same power) hits 26 fpe over my chrony. Most poweful .177 I've ever owned.
Rick,I shoot pba bullets in my gamo, they shoot good.I wish you would test more, Thanks 😊
PBA pellets don't shoot good in ANY GUN... past ten yards forget about it.
@@EDCandLace Owner ship of over 125 air rifles, they have served me good.
Basically the rifle is crap or the pellets are going to fast. My weihrauch is only doing 680fps but is ¼" at 25yrds.
They should sell them without those crapy scopes .
