I shot my gamo gen 3 magnum at an old gas sign I have on my ranch. I hit a 3” group at 75 yards. 2.5” at 65 yards and 2” at 50 yards. At 50 yards I was punching through the metal sign with crossman domes. I still prefer heavier H&n products though.
It is the H&N thicker skirt, (less to no dents out of the can), that shoots with the most consistency IMO. The power of this gun has no problem blowing up the skirt for a good bore seal. IMO, if you are going to test a gun for a manufacture, you should use the best pellets, so we can blame his talent for a 1" plus group at 25 yards. I will out shoot this guy all day long with a springer. He has a learning disability IMO.
With the mag air supply, it will lose about 150 fps compared to this gun, to about 700fps plus with a good led .25 pellet. This .22 gun is as fast as quite a few PCP .22's, but the bigger the barrel diameter, the more air it needs to fill it. That is why the islamic hatsan .30 cal shoots at about 550 fps. Now, if they add another piston, (maybe cock it twice to get both cocked.), you can supply more air and I am sure can get a .25 pellet to 800-900 fps. But with this air supply, I found that the trajectory of 900 fps is too nice to sacrifice. I like it when I sight the gun in at 40 yards, and only use 2 mill dots to 90 yards, (16gr pellet with this gun, 1 mill dot for 25 yards approx). For the hatsan in hunting, you will really need a range finder for different distances, because it drops the pellet one mill dot every 8 yards.
I still love my gen 2 I have never had a problem trying to cock it twice hunting and I have taken so many squirrel with it. Ita by far my favorite break barrel it loves shooting the gamo rockets. I can hit a pellet it ten at 75 to 100 yards 4 out of 5 times consistently. I'm honestly starting to prefer taking out the pellet gun hunting over the .22 rifle 😊
Good shooting on both sides 🙂👍. A Super Magnum break barrel air rifle is the hardest one you can shoot. I guarantee if you would use the Gamo Swarm Maxxim Gen 3 22, you would group better. In fact I would take a Gamo Swarm Maxxim Gen 3 22 over the Gamo Swarm Magnum Gen3 22 any day.
Wanna shot to 80 yards for money? I will use the mag gen2 .22. You can use any other springer air gun you want. How much can you afford to lose? We can shoot to 20-25 yards like Rick does, but if you know how to shoot, any gun will get better groups than Rick can with a springer. I sight mine in at 40 yards, but we are shooting to 80 for money, right? :)
@@EarthSurferUSA Sounds good, I will enjoy taking your money. Here's the rules. You come up to South Dakota where it is frigid cold 🥶🌨️ and the wind blows 🌬️ to the extreme and we can make a video together, then you will shut up.
I wonder why Gamo is seemingly 'fixated' on having so much speed/power in their 177/22 pellet springers. I prefer break-barrel air rifles that have pellet speeds down in the 650 to 850 fps range. I shoot considerably more accurately with my rifles. However I do like that mag. system these rifles have. Scopes,.... I like Vortex and Bushnell, and have never had an issue with any of those even with the break-barrel rifle's to and fro recoil, I guess ( again ) the recoil n the rifles I use, is not as aggressive as 'some riles' have. By the way, my rifles are not the cheapest rifles in the market place either, but they do shoot well.
I’ve learned to play with the pellet weights with my Gen3i. The faster speeds like in the 930s (which is about your 15 grains and below) are ok accurate at 25 yards but your 16-18 grains are the sweet spot. I find my gun likes the H&N pellets more though. The terminators and the hunter extremes to be exact.
@@regsparkes6507 ahhhh ok well I was going to try and put it in perspective towards pcps. But every pellet and slug likes certain speeds (I’m sure you know not trying to discredit you in any way) and the rifling of the barrel plays major parts. I had to shoot 12 different pellets to find that sweet spot. My 18 grains fly at 850-870 fps and I am on a tripod shooting and I get great accuracy. And when I shoot lighter pellets faster they are all over and I tried 22 grain and they only went 720s and they were way off. I learned so much with break barrels with just this one gun it’s unreal lol.
Break barrels are so inconsistent. If the moon is in the right phase and your geometric angle is perfectly identified and you went to church wed evening after going through 50 different types and makes of pellets you might get a few consistent shots ...great scopes and proper barrel cleaning doesn't help much. PCP is the way to go
This is false lol. Sorry I own the Gen3i and my best accurate pellets are the H&N barracuda Hunter extremes. Cleaned the barrel and sent about 100 cheap pellets through first then started shooting the extremes. Same whole with a hole mag at 25 and without flyers at 50 yards I’m under an inch. All videos and pictures to prove it. It’s a real accurate gun once you find the right hold and pellet selection.
I agree with Caleb, decent break barrels and this one is included can shoot beautifully, it requires consistency from the shooter. They’re a bit more challenging than a pcp but if you’ll take the time to learn them, they’ll serve you well.
I agree with Michael. Great groups one day, not so great the next. Way too inconsistent for a $300 gun. The guy even says in the video. “If you don’t hold it the same way every time….” The power is great tho!
@@scottgalatas4244 I can shoot mine after cleaned and “reseasoned” with lead and shoot the same groups with the right pellets every time. As long as you have a scope that isn’t bouncing or busted there’s no reason it shouldn’t stay consistent. Yeah you’re right if you mess up the hold it could be an issue. I been using a bog pod and I have no issues.
There are 2 major factors, assuming the rest of the gun is working properly with a clean barrel and good pellets (I recommend H&N). 1) This gun will tear up any scope with enough shots, (most die at about 500 shots. My best lasted over 4000). And when your scope starts failing, and you don't have all the other factors controlled, it is hard to tell if the scope is OK. It probably isn't. 2) Rick is not a good shot. In fact, almost nobody testing guns for the manufactures are good shot with a springer, (why he only shoots 25 yards. I sight mine in at 40, and shoot up to 80 on small game. Rick says the trick is to hold it the same way, (which is impossible. You will always use different forces on the stock if you put force on the stock). That is because the gun starts moving before ht pellet leaves the barrel, so any force on the stock has to be consistent, so the muzzle will be in the same spot when the pellet leave it. Now I had to lighten my trigger pull, because I try not to touch the gun at all, (including my cheek and shoulder), which lets the gun vibrate the way it wants, and the muzzle is in the same spot. If Rick would listen to people who have done it, this 25 yard group would be a 65 yard group or further. But he thinks he knows everything because he has been doing it wrong for so long. 25 yards,---slingshot range. I have no idea why the factories hire these guys to show the capability of their guns.
I just shot 2 groups of 3 with a sub 2" spread standing in a door jam at 94 yards, (I sight in at 40 yards), so I don't know what your problem is at 25 yards. Well, I do know actually, but you "I have been doing this for a long time" will not listen,---as you could have been representing the gun companies so much better than shooting springers poorly for so long. With some practice, I can get your springer groups at 25 yards with a sling shot. It you can't hit 2" targets with a springer at 60 yards with out a bag, you don't know what you are doing, and neither do the manufactures by hiring you to represent their products.

Everybody is a baby sitter today.
Very quiet rifle to have so much power. 🎯
Springers do not have much power. But the pretty powerful big bore PCP air guns are starting to sound like a powder rifle.
Mine shoots tight at 50 with jsb 16's. Took it 1000 pellets to fall in to a tack driver but it's a one hole at 25 anymore.
