Great channel and sighting in the scope tutorial. I just picked up the Gamo 10x 3i Fusion .22 cal. (The name of the rifle is longer than that, but you know the gun) I’ve owned a bunch of different firearms through the decades, from pistols to rifles, but this Gamo is only my second break-barrel air rifle. My first was a Stoeger .22 with a usable scope and since I lived in Canada at the time, the legal limit on fps is 500. Anything more powerful than that requires a license and I was an American on an expired passport overstaying my visa. Long story but suffice it to say, I wasn’t doing any paperwork with the Canadian government. So my Stoeger was rated at 450 fps and no paperwork involved. In my backyard this rifle was very accurate at 25 yards or so, and I was hooked on air guns now. Super fun and no need to go to a pain in the ass range. I sold the Stoeger to my neighbor in Canada and crossed the border on an expired Passport and expired Hawaii drivers license into Washington. My Canadian friends thought I’d be in trouble at the border so I didn’t bring anything questionable like a pellet gun or even a pocket knife. The American border agents frowned at my expired papers and asked how long I’d been in Canada? I replied honestly, “Three and a half years, sir.” He laughed, and said, “And the Canadian government didn’t catch up with you there illegally?” I replied, “No sir. I laid low and didn’t draw any attention to myself but I inherited my deceased father’s house and it was in the country and I was amongst friends who wouldn’t rat me out. Money was running low so I sold the house to a neighbor and hopped a bus to Washington to face the music, whatever that entails, sir.”
He said, “Well the only music to face as you put it, you left in Canada. You’re in America now. Welcome home. Just don’t try to cross back into Canada. They know when you arrived and now know when you left. No harm done, just don’t go back for a while.”
    I nodded, “I won’t. Thank you sir.”
So that was that and now I live and work in Seattle. An interesting thing I learned from you on your channel about air guns is that the fps depends on elevation. Very fun to know and something I’d never considered. Thinner air and less volume at greater altitude. I knew this before but didn’t think about that effect on air guns. I’m as close to sea level as it gets in Seattle, as I work and live along the waterfront. So whatever the fps says the Fusion puts out on the box (1000 fps), should be correct with alloy pellets, unless they’re lying like the pistol ammunition manufacturers do all the time. I’m not going to chrono this air rifle, I’ll just guess it at maybe 850 fps with 14 grain lead. It still beats the hell out of 450 on my old Stoeger.
Thanks for the tips on zeroing the scope and holding the rifle to help control the reverse recoil.
Happy shooting and stay safe. 🤙🏼

I've found that if you tap lightly on the scope rings after making an adjustment it helps the crosshairs settle in

I have the RWS 177 pellet rifle, it’s the break open design and I have used it on raccoons, squirrels and many other things. The 22 caliber or the 25 caliber Gamo gun is what my interest is in. Thanks for your Insights and help.

First off it's awesome years later your still in the game. Your review pushed me to purchase my Walther falcon Hunter in 22 with the air Venturi and quattro trigger from pyramid air years back. It's still shooting like a champ 14 years later. My question is how does the 22 model of this line up with the Walther outside the magazine? Is it worth getting this or should i work on getting a pcp?

So do you ever try slugs through the high powered .177 break barrels? I've actually had awesome success with NSA slugs out of my RWS, may be worth trying some in the guns with enough power to push them!

Not yet. I’ve been out of town and way behind on other work. Also, I need some single shot guns to try. Slugs don’t feed well in the swarm mags. They are meant for pellets.

The most accurate for gamo replay or swarm 177 are gamo hollow point 10x. 100% for sure

Hi Rick, I have the Gamo swarm whisper 10x gen 1 .22, and I have paired it with a TruGlo 4x32 scope. Any advice or suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated

Hello! Very good video. Can you please make video like comparision of .177 and .22 side by side and with ballistic gel/chrono, different pellets? I have gamo black cat 1400 .177 and I cannot decide if I would buy the .177 or the .22. And another question. Are these magnums stronger in the US than in the EU? Because I tested the friend's .22 and it had red stripes..like .177 and it felt that it wasn't really 45j. Thanks.

I tested it with various specialty .22 pellets like Elko GREEN EXPRESS Diabolo 0.67g, exploding Kvintor Diabolo FLASH and Metalmags. Then I shot equivalent pellets like these out of my black cat 1400 and for example the .177 exploding Kvintor Phantom pellets did very little damage while the .22 Flash went through a 2cm wooden plate and nearly did a 2mm aluminum plate. Elko were completely insane. It shot through a 2 cm wooden board and then another. With the aluminum plate, it went like a knife through butter. Interesting results.@@AirGunWeb

Why isn't this green band for hunting it has the power

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

They have the .22 for hunting and the .177 for plinking and pesting. The .22 is a better choice if hunting is your primary use case.

You didn't use the wood to tap the scope like you used to

It sounds like you're holding your breath during your shot. If you keep a steady breath out when you fire your group should improve as well. Just some friendly advice from a life long air gunner

Those mags cost more than my AR mags, I only bought 1 extra mag.

The accuracy on that at 16 yards is just terrible...that would be like a 3in group at 50 yards

those pellets are trash for grouping, use crossman hollow point ,gamos loves those pellets
