  • First proper trip out after a knee operation and only had one adventure sim in mind… to make myself comfortably uncomfortable.
    Dropped off in a small village in the wonderful Wye Valley, all I had to do was walk home. The majority of the 25-30km walk was spent following the Wye River.
    The fifth largest river in the UK, stretches on for 150 miles, starting in mid wales and eventually returning to the sea near Chepstow. The lower 56 miles flows right through the Wye Valley.
    An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Wye Valley is an international scientific area of interest due to its ancient woodland and remarkable landscapes.
    This beautiful and scenic route wasn’t without its challenges, the biggest challenge was mainly my fitness! A short climb up to the Symmonds Yat viewpoint felt like a mountain with a heavy pack on but the reward was well worth the effort.
    So join me on this adventure as I explore some of the most gorgeous natural lowland in Britain!

    I’ve only just realised this episode cuts short! For some reason the last 5 minutes have disappeared! I’m working on getting it fixed so watch this space 👀

    Nice walk and camp. Wye valley is nice, same the river is suffering from bad pollution. I'd like to walk more of it at some point.

      The pollution in that river is beyond a joke now, won’t be long till it’s worse than the Thames in Victorian times 😭. Other than that dark thought, stunning scenery (my fav part being between Chepstow and Monmouth if you’re looking for inspiration)

    Awesome time out mate. I loved the way it flowed like the river. You found a great camp after, which works every time. Really enjoyed the views.

      @@mr_adventures That's OK. I commented from another channel because my comments were disappearing. It was a better comment than this to. All the best. Mark (Wye Explorer)

      Love frost in the morning. Harder getting out of the sleeping bag, but wakes you up quicker when you finally do 😂

      Thanks Craig, absolutely stunning area of the country (would be even better if the River was cleaned up and not sewage brown!). Have fun out there pal!

    Quality video , as usual . Loved the Bushcraft observation that moss on the tree faces North .

    • @mr_adventures
      @mr_adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked it mate. I was reading up on natural nav, apparently, there’s like 20 different ways to tell where north is just by looking at tree… the only one I could remember at the time was the moss 😂

    Nice, need to get down that way.
    Can't believe I've not been out yet this year 😢
    Lovely pitch ❤
    Good ol' fox V2 my mate has one and loves it so I got one £42 form Go Outdoors bargain!
    Not used it yet tho.
    What's the trip pal?

      I go crazy if I haven’t made it out in a month so I feel your pain! Definitely get down here if you can, I’d say the section of the Wye Valley near Chepstow is an even nicer section than the one shown in this video if you get the chance.

    I was totally down for this route until I saw the squeaky bridge. Nope 😂

      The bridge was solid, you’ll be fine 😂, it’s a great walk!

    the river is pretty much the same colour as your beard dude

    • @mr_adventures
      @mr_adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wish my beard was the dark murky brown of the river instead of bright orange 😂 Pollution in the Wye is a huge problem at the moment (which is why I ended up carrying all my water - wasn’t drinking that stuff!)
      There’s a campaign called “save the Wye” which is trying to fix this issue. I was gonna talk about it in the video but it was already a bit too long.
