  • Back to Bushcraft!
After three and a half months of not being able to adventure, I finally managed a night out in the forest (much to the relief of my significant other!)
Normally, my adventures have a more expedition feel, favoring traveling over vast landscapes. However, as I was still being limited to small distances, my efforts went back into bushcraft.
My time spent in the forest was a constant reminder of the quote "if you don't use it, you'll lose it". It is remarkable how much this applies to knowledge and skills. I had forgotten, pretty much everything! From starting fires with damp materials to some basic knots, it was no longer coming naturally to me. Without being discouraged through trial and error, and, with a bit of effort, it eventually all started coming back to me.
It was also a reminder of the profound healing power of nature. Being truly present eludes most of us day to day, but, by submerging ourselves within the beauty of the natural world, the worries of the past and future are stripped away. Instead, replaced with overwhelming gratitude for being in the here and now.
Make sure you stick around to the end, where I try to make amends for the total catastrophe that was my campfire bread making...
I do hope you enjoy joining me on this mini adventure, and as always, please like, subscribe, and comment! Your support does have a real impact on the direction of this channel.

He's back stronger! Great video - definitely learned something new and love the fire pit idea.

I'll be running up those mountains soon enough! (although the thought of running up a mountain makes me feel physically sick right now haha). Definitely worth the £15 investment in that fire pit! Anything to promote leave no trace.

If I can do it, anyone can, as long as you don’t let a bit of charcoal in your bread put you off 😅

Great video as always mate. Perhaps next tine take a heat resistant plate to cook the dough on as it would avoid the bread having Essenes of Charcoal as the added flavour. I love the idea of the fire pit. I can see how that could be used in many different scenarios. I look forward to many more high quality vids in the future. Cheers.

Cheers buddy really appreciate it! I realized as I was editing it that I had two mess tins that I could easily have greased and cooked in haha, although, I think the "essence of charcoal" may have helped with the overall taste!
