Nice project! Looks to be about a 175cc cylinder. The little four pettle Reed block is a bit small for that big cylinder. A six or even an eight pettle Reed block will give you more flow and use a rubber intake boot that has a spud for a boost bottle. As long as you are welding up the intake, next time weld up around the exhaust port to add two additional "wing ports" at the upper sides of the main exhaust port like the late TZ250 exhaust ports. In the end you want about 210 degrees of exhaust duration, 110 degrees of transfer duration and 360 degrees of intake duration. Widen the exhaust as much as practice and keep squish band as tite as motor will allow. Keep smokin'!!!!!!!
Do you have any actual experience with 250cc two stroke motors or are you 'just another keyboard expert'? The RM500 used 8 petal reed block but it was too powerful so they made the quad 500 with the RM250 reed block. Main problem I had with RM500 was the 41 inch seat height so I get a 490 Maico instead With a roller bearing big and small end you need around 0.040" squish (1mm approx) or the piston hits the head hard enough to trap then break the ring

Yeah but I think it's closer matched to those stock transfers, there's almost no block porting that I can see, just shave a little weight off the crankshaft, and you'll have a Snappy little Power Band. If you can build a good chambered pipe for it, it would be 🔥💯💯💯
@@sylviadetermegdet2166 It is a suzuki TS cylinder so either a TS185 or may be a TS 250. It certainly isn't any larger than 250cc and no where near 550cc capacity.
Almost 50 years ago we "trenched" RD400 cylinder in order to fit TZ reed cages. Had to use some epoxy as the little twins didn't have enough material on the inboard side of the cylinders to make it fit. Once ported, with proper carburetors, and chambers those little bikes were fast.

@@howardosborne8647 I was running a Suzuki dealer workshop when they were current models. The same cylinder crankcase induction was also used on the TS125. Crankcase and cylinder porting gave a wide power band as the piston port was very 'mild' but the case reed induction kicked in as soon as there was any influence from pipe. Cranckcase reed induction appeared on a lot of motocrossers from the early 80s onward. Prior to that they were almost all reed block into the cylinder induction port as seen on Yamahas DT Enduro range and the air cooled RD 350s and 400s. A mate of mine converted a Kawasaki 550 twin cylinder jetski engine from basic piston port induction to cranckcase reed induction using a pair of reed blocks from a Yamaha RD 400....it worked very well with loads more bottom and mid range torque than the standard piston port JS 550 kawasaki ski motor.
