Standing Long Jump: Road to 3m. Ep#1: 264cm

  • First episode of the series "Road to 3m Broad Jump"
    Jumps are a very important part of my power training, and standing long jump, also called broad jump is a very good way to train lower body explosiveness.
    Anyway, more than in other types of jumps, in the broad jump, the technique plays a very big role, thus it is very important to focus the training on both leg power and form of execution.
    264 is a good beginning, but there's a lot to improve in the technique. In this jump I think I didnt use my legs enough, focusing more on the upper body, in particular arms forward explosion. I need to utilize fully my leg power.

    Standing Long Jump.
    Broad Jump.

    Nice man, I remember when I was I high school I broke my school record what 2,75 at age of 15...now I can do 1,5 max :)

      I would recommend box jumps, single leg jumps, and make your legs more powerful with squats and indoor bike sprints. Also slackline can be beneficial for knee stability. Anyway, im not jumping much lately, i have to get back to it myself. Practice is very important.
